the sunday dinner at french court was open to public..and it was said that the king louis xiv was famous for his elegance - his elegant way of peeling shells of hard boiled eggs .. so that alot of people came to versailles to see this .. and the king gladly ate hard boiled eggs for the gallery .. even FIVE hard boiled eggs at one go..

I'd say a good show manship.. but then louis xiv was nothing if he weren't a lover of attention.. lol he sought attention like a moth does flame lol .. well he staged a play himself and played an actor himself also.. lol he learnt valet as well.. nice 😆

although, I doubt the verity of this story..this somewhat sounds like a myth.. 🙂

I heard, actually, it was more like 1.50m ..which one's right? 😆

and I also read that the king had a hemorrhoid surgery..which was quite dangerous one back in the era..lots of people died during the operation.. but of course, louis xiv was the king of france so his doctors performed lots of experiments on the poor peasants before the king's surgery..so the king's life was spared..

surprisingly, the king did not make even a single moan while the operation being done.. and it was even without anesthesia.. the reason why the king did not scream like hell was because the surgery was done in front of his vassels.. yea, the king gotta contain himself..carry himself like a king..
my sincere applauds go to louis xiv.. he might not be the very best king france had ever had..but he kept his dignity..gotta give a credit..??

and that made me think that I would never want to become a king ..lol
