Name calling
Some people are pretty creative in the names they call other people. I laugh each time I see names like "cum rag" "ass wipe" etc and always wonder how the person on the receiving end of this feels.
TCD, how do YOU feel when somebody calls YOU names? I've seem some people take the names they are being called to heart and it makes no sense to me. If somebody were to call me a cunt or w/e I wouldnt care because *I* know I'm not a cunt. Same thing with names like "idiot", goes over my head unless you possess a Ph.d and were evaluating me personally & those were your findings...that would hurt me for sure. If a man I was having sex with were to call me a "cumrag", yeah that would hurt/anger me because well, im sleeping with him and it would be disrespect of him to call me that.
Dont need it dont have a use for it. I dont take it to heart in rf and its never happen on here. Nobody will fight with me on here anyways lol.

ok theres another topic called how do you relax?...I would have to say for me its fighting....I get so much release when I call someone a "stupid bitch" I love it.....I dont care if someone calls me a name it just inspires me to call them something worse hahah....mind you, I do know my limits and I'm the maverick of brinkmanship when it comes to these kinds of things....I dont ever intend to hurt people but be funny and release my tension at the same time its a delicate balance of give and take.....there is a fine line of being being funny and being plain rude and me having a scorpio moon helps me to identify and cut those fuckers down....my signature move is a head butt to the face

I am more bothered when someone accuses me of something I didn't do or spreads false information about me. That just pisses me the fuck off.
To me, and I'm sure other fire types agree, name calling is just so much more upfront and to the point. There's no slithering about and manipulation. Just one person telling another they don't like them, and exactly why. Sure, the actual name calling is a bit childish...but it's much more clean and upfront than other methods imo.
For example:
(Scenario 1)I've offended you...you think I'm a bitch...you call me a bitch....I now know how you feel. I probably shrug or laugh. It's all over pretty quickly. Everyone can move on. You'll either laugh about it later or you'll just avoid one another.
(Scenario 2)I've offended you (probably definitely going to happen with me at some point, lol)...but this time instead of confronting the issue as it is...you try to pull up some dirt on me and/or concoct some and put my shit on blast in order to make me look a certain way to help make your case/backup your feelings.
That's just disgusting to me. Weak, and manipulative. & it's not going to end there. Instead of just moving on, laughing about it, or avoiding one another...it's likely going to be an ongoing back and forth drama fest. It's just gross. Unnecessary.

I get where you're coming from. However, suppose I'm called a bit c h after nagging someone. I would not perceive such a response as an indication of low self-esteem; instead, I'd assume the term was used out of pure exasperation.
Alternately, the pejorative use of sexual epithets like 's l ut' 'f a g' & various racial slurs can speak volumes, in that those terms are associated with monumental ignorance and in some cases, reflective of insecurity.
Case in point, individuals that feel secure in their sexuality are less likely to throw around homophobic slurs as insults versus those who do not.click to expand
That could very well be the case for some people. This subject is all a matter of opinion. To me, if you'd call someone a 'bi tch' over other terms or wordings you could have used, that still entails a bit of immaturity, at least. You don't have to call someone a swear word or derogatory term to get your point across, even if there's no anger in saying it. Now, the insecurity part may not apply in this case because there are certainly people who just have those words in their normal vocabulary and don't use them for malicious intent. But, the immaturity part stays for me.

Omg this is my pet peeve. I just went thru this at work , me and this chick coworker arguing about something she fuck up on and she want to blame me because she got caught , in the middle of the dispute she get loud and yell out in said some shit about my boyfriend race. WTF that have to do with u fucking up on the job and being mad.i just laugh on her ass cause she was mad, going all off topic. In some cases name calling can be soooo imature. In some cases its a sign of weakness , I notice when people are wronge in cant fight there point clear enough or cant win, then that is when u hear name calling.

I feel the same. ^^^^^I can cuss like a sailor (in private only) but I don't call people names in a disagreement. If you are being a bitch, I'll tell you and have no problem if someone does the same to me. If you call me names because you don't like what I've said... whatever.
I do enjoy name calling with people I'm close to as a term of endearment... the exact opposite of watercup.
