How do feel if someone calls you bae? have you ever been called it before? why aren't people more creative nowadays with nicknames?

I make em call me "Daddy"...before I crawl into the deep space of what people without biology degrees can get an access to.

I wouldn't count that as a nickname unless it was somehow connected to a person's real name, personality, characteristic trait, physical trait, etc.
That's more of a common term
of affection/endearment/politeness/friendliness that people/strangers throw around these days.
For example, at work, a female colleague and male Hispanic customers call me "Mommy." I can't explain it, but coming from them, it's adorable. Others call me "sweetheart", "honey", and "love." It used to truly irritate me, but now it doesn't bother me so much. Also, I find that I'm more willing to accept it if it comes from someone my age or older. Teenie boppers saying, "thanks, hun!" is eye-twitch inducing.
If you're talking about a significant other, them I would hope my man knows me well and is also creative enough to have a pet name tailored for me. It doesn't have to be the very first of its kind, but it has to relate to me/suit me and not every female version of Tom, Dick, and Harry (Larry?).

I ex and I had nicknames. She'd call me jerk face and asshole, I called her bitch. She used to get real emotional when I'd whisper cunt.
