ONE THING

They say we have souls. They say there's a God. They say we breathe air.
They say this is light and that is dark.
That's a shadow.
That's rain.
Ooh - that's a fart.
That makes a sentence become a question while that ends the sentence completely.
That one makes the sentence STOP. And that one shows it could've gone on infinitely.
That's a butterfly - yikes - careful, that's a bee.
That's a rock and that right there is a tree.
That's money and lots of that you will need.
While at the same time they reckon that taking more than is necessary is greed.
They say he is white and she is black.
They say that's a bear and if you look it dead in the eye it will attack.
They say that's a bunch, that's a pack, that's a gang. They say this English while that is slang.
They say this is blood you MUST keep it in. They say that's a sperm, and only the fastest one wins.
This life is a headfuck, a ruse, a dream. Is there anything you know that you weren't told by them?

With words and ideas that were put in your head from birth?

*headbangs and moshes with joy*
I didn't want the thread to be visible outside which is why I made the no-post.
There's a reason for the pseudo-poem. I left the house happy and something good that happened to me while I was out brought me back sad.
In a bittersweet way (thanks Jade).

Perhaps? Maybe? lol wut? Who knows, really?
I'm thinking this is what seperates us from animals.
Because animals are capable of communicating without using words or labelling things, places, emotions or ideas.
So can humans, of course. But the kind of brains we have gives us more than one sound we can make with our mouths and also makes us able to manipulate those sounds into words that are eventually accepted by a multitude of creatures.
An animal can make a warning cry but the predator whose presence they are trying to make known to the rest of the herd may not understand the purpose behind the noise.
Humans who can't speak the same language can communicate through recognizable gestures. Sometimes a gesture isn't necessary.
All it takes is a look.
Some insects don't even MAKE any noise with their mouths. That's like being a fucking plant!
You can eat but can't produce sound (begging the pardon of anyone who is or knows a mute)?
That's "thing" status, man.

One thing: We're here for a very short time, life isn't very long, and there aren't any second chances.

That's the general consensus. But life can be LONG, my sister. LOOOOONG and eventless.
I know the old can't wait to just pass on what with a 5 minute trip to Tesco taking them 30 and stuff.
This is the best way, though, to psyche yourself up and throw yourself into things (I've found).
Being aware of the finite amount of sand pouring down your metaphorical hourglass.
