Online dating

Anyone have any experience... pros and cons? People keep telling me to try it, but not sure if I want to.

I enjoyed it. You need to meet up with that person at some point though.

I know a couple who's been doing this for..3 years? They are in neighboring countries. Now that I don't get.

Free sites.

I don't think paid sites exist here. However..I've heard people talking about those on paid sites that they took it more seriously since they paid money for it..so there's a good argument for that I think.

In the end with online dating..80% percent will be disappointment. But in life the same percentage applies.

It's funny because when I met the Aries, we had a 92% match and we just joked about that. I really don't do dating, more like establish ties and see where it gets me. In real life or online.

Another issue is, how might one gauge the degree of interpersonal chemistry via interweb? Two people may admire the way each other look on paper...only to meet & discover a mutual awkward vibe in the air, in lieu of sparks flying..

Exactly my point and why you should meet as soon as possible. You can create a fantasy in your head but it can clash with reality fiercely.

As a Virgo, I cannot join that.

It's fine as long as you don't plan to keep it online for long. If you simply use things like dating sites as a means to meet more people with the same goals in mind (meaning you plan to meet up fairly quickly and not keep it online), then it can work out great. The longer you keep it online, though, the less successful I feel it can be.

I've never had an issue with catfishing but my current partner has. Maybe it's more of a girl thing to do? Lie about weight and the like. Who knows.

Meeting early on will help avoid problems like disappointment or whatever else from lack of chemistry since if your not yet invested in the person, it's easy to say 'no thanks' and move on without any issues. It's easy to find people in driving distance to you so that you can accomplish this early meet up.

COUGH bullshit COUGH. Online dating comes off as desperate. Why try to meet people online when you have the outside world, and bars (please don't pick up anyone in a bar). The two most recommended places that's said not to date is Online and bars. But seriously go meet someone in the flesh than online.
