Recession a’coming

Last time I was like 12 when it happened. This is my first adult recession. I don’t know how to feel about all this yet. What are you all doing to protect yourselves besides stocking up on toilet paper?
If no Kleenex or toilet paper available, I go to full-size maxi pads as a substitute. Several dozen cases should suffice.
Stepping into the grocery stores remind me of y2k all over again. Glad I waited on the early renewal of my Costco card cause I’m avoiding that mad house for now
Don't worry. Trump will have the Feds pump more money in to prop it up artificially.

My poor retirement fund lolol

Otherwise it’s me missing work and the impending doom of health bills that worry me more than the Dow. And I guess the house value going down.

But if we ride it out should recover eventually.

Yeah it’s pretty emotionally conflicting as I try to stuff as much as I can into my dwindling retirement funds. Once this one passes I may be emotionally prepared to invest heavily in individual stocks during the next one!

Wouldn’t doubt it! But what he gonna do about the Saudis and Russians. It’s like they’ve joined forces to see us break.

This isn’t a recession.

The market will swing right back up in a few weeks
It's the kind of downward spiral that leads to one.

When the market crashes, pick a good company and buy some stock. Everything will come back up.

Vanguard is the golden rule.

I've been sensing this for a while. Maybe this coved virus thing is covering up the straw houses we have really built, the shell of fake abundance we have been living in. More people in debt than ever (prediction, can't verify that fact).

They say the future seers are usually mad, but the crap needs to be washed out of the system in order for it to reset. The crap was not washed out in 2008, there were too many rescue-packages.

I'm gonna start stocking up on food, i'm not joking!

My fear is that all the white folks on medicaid will be plugging up the ER system for minor coughs and earaches instead of going to their primary physician. They are already a drain on our health system.

I’ll wait for housing market to crash n I’ll buy
You damn right.
In January, I made 20 crockpot meals and froze them. I did this because I was going away and had a busy work month and wanted to make sure the boys had dinner every night instead of pizza. It saved a ton of money plus my weekly shopping was very small. With the uncertainty, I decided to stick with it. My grocery bill, including pets, toiletries and school cafeteria, went from over $ 1000 to $ 600.

I'm also cutting my nonsense spending like grubhub everyday at work and non essentials. I'm trying to not spend any money at all at least 5 days per week.

My job is base plus commision plus override so no business is a huge pay cut for me. I started getting nervous and making adjustments a few weeks ago when our orders started getting delayed.

I also picked up a few small side hustles just in case it got real bad which with the auto show cancelled and my next weekend show getting cancelled today, it has officially gotten bad.
There won't be another recession at least until after Trump's term is over from being reelected. Depending on who's the new president that year. Unless this virus mutates into a stronger strain, which could happen now or later, all this is just a wake up call for people to be more prepared for the future of Ebola because thats some bullshit. Corona is like ice cream compared to that.

Also washing your hands and buying hand sanitizer does not prevent you from getting the virus. It doesn't hurt but I don't want y'all to think because you're a serial hand washer and have a closet full of sanitizer that you're protecting yourself.

And from what I understand, you have to buy the correct mask in order to not breathe in the virus. A surgical mask is not going to do it because air can get in from the sides that aren't completely fitted to your face. A1 N1 or someshit like that.

Eat plenty of silver. Drink plenty of distilled water. Exercise and make love, not babies. Unless you can take care of them. And if you can, don't take them around other folks. I can just hear the CDC now announcing the first Corona baby 2000 🤦🏾‍♂️

Also not smoking cigarettes does not help prevent anyone from obtaining the virus. Nonetheless if you don't smoke and it slips into your immune system somehow, I'm sure you'll be healed alot faster than someone who does smoke and drink. I wouldn't go outside as much, but I'm sure there are people who will die at just the thought of that soooo that's on you. Do you.

That's all. Live long and prosperous🖖

~Pothead out~

Well..not really, but it sounded cool at the moment. Like the word is being takin over by Ebola zombies and these are my last words to the congregation of Dxp. There's fire in the streets and human meat with marks of teeth.

Maybe - I'm not quite there yet. Based on where I live, I have the ability to hunt for waterfowl, ruffed grouse, rabbits, squirrels and deer...plus fishing in the summer.

it's been known for over a year now. Lol I don't care if you want to live in ignorance but I find it just too funny not to share and pop your bubble. Here is what's happening:

-The fed is giving out money with .5% interest to financial institutions. Because they don't have the hard assests, money on hand to lend out more then they already have. We will call them (Group F)

-Those financial entities are lending that money out for a profit to companies and people.

-Those people and companies are using that money to buy stocks in the stock market, in hopes of making the money back and a profit. This drives up stock prices.

-Some also already owe quite a bit of money and just keep borrowing more money to function. It's like paying the minimum on credit cards with another credit card lol

-Those companies that are on the stock market also borrow money to function. Also instead of paying off their debt they are giving the profits to stock holders (this is called dividends). This causes demand for their stocks and increases the price. Which they greatly benefit from because they are paid in stock or carry stock themselves, on top of their 6-7 figure salary and bonus. Bonuses are dependent on company performance which is measured by stock price lol.

It's one big circle jerk! Everyone is borrowing money to keep the good times rolling! It's like one big casino! If someone starts defaulting on their loans or stops lending......POP!

Here is the kicker....Financial institutions are no longer required to hold on to hard assets to cover their balances on there books. They literally leverage and lend out the money in your account as their own. What's going to happen when shit hits the fan and the bank has to pay their own bills? The US government owes trillions and also borrows from the federal Reserve! It's like the movie Crank but instead of drugs it's money. What do you think will happen when they money stops flowing?

Edit: this is why stick prices going down scare people hooked into that system. If stock prices go down they lose money. They can't keep ahead of the interest rate on their loans. If they don't make payments they can't borrow more to stay afloat. If the federal Reserve or banks stop or slow down their lending the system/financial there isn't enough money to lend out and interest rates will increase. They can't afford to borrow money people will liquidate their stock asserts to pay their debt which also means stock prices will drop which means they will have to sell even more to pay loans and bills which again means demand will go down therefore stock prices which means....honestly this shit is too funny.

Like I said I don't actually care. The game will end soon enough something has to give. I have a dark sense of humour and this train wreck they literally created and made possible AGAIN for greedy is just special.
Why am I not bothered by any of this??

Nothing. I am waiting for snapchat and some other stocks to drop more so I can buy that shit up, while people panic over nothing.

This is not a recession. In the '08 recession, a lot of people defaulted on their loans, which were often taken out for buying real estate. There was a ton of property foreclosures, and the investment banks took massive hits. Lehman Brothers closed.

This is a panic in the stock market. It's emotional, and the media is hyping it.

It's also not a "recession panic," if there is such a thing, because the stock market is still at a record high. The Media ignored how strong Trump's economy has been. They're just focusing on the losses because they're mostly liberal and are quick to report downturns in the economy. Your retirement fund should still be stronger now than it was 4 years ago.

Basically it depends on how much the media keeps hyping this and how long the public puts up with it. Keep in mind that most investors are fickle, and they trade on whims. The big banks will trade your stocks anyway, because they get comissions.

I invest in Vanguard, which holds your investments over the long term. Since I'm not retiring anytime soon, I'm just chillin', and when this all ends, the stocks I bought years ago will go back to growing.

Another part of what happened in 2008 was the housing market was a house of cards built upon nothing, thousands of people had houses they could never afford because of adjustable rate loans... Hence why living within ones means is very important and fixed rates. always fixed.
If I gave y’all my list. I’d be laughed at for sure and I’m not even sure anyone would truly appreciate it.
