The actress who famously portrayed Princess Leia, has just passed away at the age of 60.

It was a heart attack which eventually took her from us.

OMG. RIP .
does anyone know how/why she passed - got to look this up - these people are not that old ...
........and there's still several days left to 2016. the Angel of Death is working overtime huh? I'm afraid he'll ask for a raise.

This is really sad...
I am utterly devastated over this. Sad
I'm just ..no words. Idol as a kid, dressed as Princess Leia for years for Halloween!

Angry omg. 2016 has been brutal.
Extremely brutal.

May it be over as soon as possible.

As of now, I would rather be in 2017.

wow

2016 was a hatchet year

She didn't suffer any heart conditions, and in fact had a healthy heart .... so, the logical assumption is that it was drug induced.

she always had a look on her face like a prune, very terse

She wasn't well liked by her peers ... it's kind of late for people to be wishing her peace.

It's a shame people only wish that to people when they're dead.
@P-Angel

Do you have nothing better to do than to drop your bullturd onto a memorial thread of a dead person ?

You do not have to like her, but many others do. Therefore leave it be.

She was well liked enough by many and for those of us that do, we wished her well when she was alive just as we do now, when she is gone.

With the likes of your attitude, there might not be enough wishing that for you even when you are not yet dead.

maybe she saw her face in rogue one, I would have a heart attack too, with that CGI crap
Yeah but anything can happen to us and look how people still get treated like. Like nothing else matters. Because I know people that die way too young and way in their 90-100s..people live life and then you just never know when it's time. Then it's too late.

SHE might have had a will or POA for these conditions in what people make. A DNR.
Like George Michael, she had drug addiction problems

That's what I was thinking. She struggled with drugs and alcohol (i believe) for many years.... actually a lot of celebrities do drugs... a lot of cocaine to be exact.

Not really surprised she passed away if it was due to drugs.

Where have you been? It was all over the news. :/

Heart attack and she was out for 10 minutes, so the prognosis was never really all that great, despite people's hopes, unfortunately. You also have to remember she had a history of drug use and that's hard on the body, especially the heart.

Sympathies to her family. It's bs they had to deal with this this time of year, even if at all. :/

In regard to all these celebs who died this year, something people need to realize is that we're going to see a lot of "greats" going because this huge population boom (the baby boomers) is in the age group that is going to start passing away from health complications and the like. Especially considering many grew up in the eras of some major drug use in their heyday.

I doubt 2016 will be the end of it, tbh.

All that she did in her youth, must have caused enough damage that it has now caught up with her. Despite her utter strength in turning her life around, it was not enough.

It was far too late, the damage was done. You cannot possibly undo all the havoc in which her body sustained. She had wrecked herself all those years ago, even having regained sanity and health in her later years would not have saved her. Sad

Yep. The boomers aren't exactly the healthiest group out there. They were the start of all the unhealthy eating, unhealthy life style s, etc. Tons of salt and sugar started being introduced into diets around the time they were all born and raised.

Diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension are all very common in their age group.

Add in celebs who were surrounded by drugs, sex, and excessive alcohol and you've just got a ticking time bomb.

It's all very sad that we're seeing this happen, but it's the reality of the situation. At this point, it's like fuck yeah to anyone from this generation that's going to last beyond 70. :/

Like I said in the other thread, I went through the same scenario with my dad (sans the plane). It hit a nerve with both my brother and I and we both immediately felt for the family because we knew she wasn't coming back, whether it be alive in a vegetative state, or death. Despite the neutral information they were publicly releasing, we knew it was a lost cause, sadly. Her poor mom, outliving her daughter. That's some bs right there.
FUCK 2016

This is my thought also. How sad for Debbie Reynolds. She's seen so much tragedy in her life and now this. I thought Carrie was so beautiful as Princess Leia. I actually tried to wear my hair in those bun things, but looked like an idiot. RIP Carrie.

Wishing people peace until their passing isn't too uncommon as it isn't until this time that a person is truly at peace. Death and peace pretty much coincide with each other. I know that is a very gloomy way to look at things, but I also find it a harsh reality. She struggled a lot throughout the years, and many wished her well, and hoped for brighter days in her future.

This is still setting in for me. I just can't believe she is gone Sad

Fisher spoke openly about her struggles with alcoholism and bipolar disorder. She also was an advocate for mental health awareness and treatment.

That is very true Ram416, and I am aware of it. Thank heavens we still have her, those of her era have mostly passed already.

Debbie was always a sturdy lady. She is a very strong woman but nonetheless, it is still a loss and a sad reality, for a mother to outlive her daughter, despite the choices made.
Is it too soon for jokes?

There seems to be a lot of celebrities who kill themselves with drugs ..... so long as you're popular and rich, nobody seems to care about what you're doing until you're dead .. then they act all sad.

Prince, George Michaels, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, to name a few ...... all killed themselves, and people at large approve.

Now that's what is sad.
@P-Angel

What is sad, is you having to bring something utterly irrelevant up in a memorial thread of a dead person. Bringing unnecessary drama into a thread, so it would give you the attention you crave and need.

She was not completely defined by her drug abuse, nor her mental illness, that was not the only thing that made up who she was. Let those of us that enjoyed her work, celebrate her, in life, and in death. You do not have to like her, or agree with the work she has done throughout the years but leave it at that.

After all who cares about what you think, have a little respect for the dead whether you like them or not. If you want respect from others, have a little respect for yourself and the dead.

Bloody hell, let the dead rest in peace.

Good Riddance.
