Next time write it out "Should Veils be banned in public places in the U.K"
I don't want Racists specifically the worst racists on earth Americans spilling their vitriol on matters they don't even understand.

Certain roles require faces to be seen; so pupils should be able to meet their teachers face to face, and juries should be able to see a witness give evidence.
We are expected to follow the rules of the countries we live in and their institutions. Why should observant Muslim women be exempt from this expectation?
The veil has been called a symbol of oppression, as such, the state should not aid and abet its use.

No, they shouldn't.
For some it's about their religious beliefs and they should be allowed to dress according to that.

I'm half-Muslim if that's even possible lol. Christian mother & a Muslim father. In my house we were never made to wear a veil, because it's not about the outside but the inside. The only thing that matters is loving/believing in your God... with your heart. Your deeds should show this, as well.
Many of the Muslim women I know are rotten to the core but hide it behind a veil. Why choose to show your religious beliefs with something so insignificant as a veil when your insides are that of a non-believer? That's what I ask myself when I observe some "religious" people.

To some, it can seem intimidating. To others, it is outdated and oppressiveclick to expand

That's true WC. I guess it all depends on how we take the teachings of our religion. What is good/benefits us.

If this is pissing people off I'll remove the thread.
It's just a debate that's going in the U.K.

I said the ones I know. And it's funny because the ones who are true to their faith don't even bother to wear veils or attend mosque. They just pray at home & attend to business as usual.
You know I see a lot of non practising believers say this and tbh most if the times they say it to feel better about themselves. I'm not practising myself but most of the women here in the UK that wear a full veil are very good hearted and educated individuals. Idk it might be different down in SA. I do agree though that it has to come from your heart first and foremost.click to expand

Regardless of claimed religious beliefs and/or affiliations, all human beings are capable of being "rotten to the core."
Only God knows truly what lies within a person's heart.

Is there a diference in how a Shia and Sunni dresses?

Clueless your a nob.
There are a quite a few women on USA campuses in full veils, and no one notices until it comes time to take an exam where it's necessary to be photographed or to verify ID.

Nobody has ever asked a woman or man entering a bank or supermarket to remove a surgical mask, especially in the flu season or if the person has a health issue. Nobody would dare ask a person to remove his or her surgical mask in public, on a bus, or in a classroom. Your first thought is the person is protecting an immune system issue.click to expand

Now if i was a white girl id' go to Duncan and claim your bullying me and it might work, but since im black and since this forum is racist, i can't do that, so i'll have to sit here and deal with your meaningless valueless HO BYTCH AZZ.
damn on superbowl Sunday too. You should really take into consideration what you wrote on that post and do it. Seriously. Wink.

I see women in veils all the time. Tbh, it doesn't bother me at all. I don't want to interfere on someone's cultural practice.
