Currently watching the “Stolen Youth” documentary about a man in his 50s who moved into his daughters Sarah Lawrence dorm after getting out of prison for a stock scam, and how he coerced, manipulated, and abused her group of friends who he met at this dorm for an entire decade. He sexually trafficked, tortured, and convinced them that their families raped and abused them (literally rewrote their childhoods and they believed him), that they broke all his belongings, and video recorded bizarre confessions he manipulated them into that never happened (poisoning him, conspiring with his enemies, claimed their parents set it all up to bring him down, etc) so that they would feel they owed him money to “pay him back” for all of these terrible things they didn’t even do. He branded this whole cult as a search for the ultimate truth within themselves and a journey to being a good person.

What a weird fucking story this is. One of the girls was a sister of the victim, who came to visit and she grew up poor in the Bronx and earned a full ride through Harvard, then through Columbia med school and was about to be a doctor. He convinced her to drop her whole life’s goals and accomplishments to this point, and move into a 1 bedroom NY apartment (which he coerced from someone else, it wasn’t even his) with 6 or 7 other college kids at the time. He locked up the fridge with a lock and didn’t let them have access to food or sleep until he said so. Umm…meanwhile this loser did not have a single thing to offer anyone?

Even with the victim statements throughout explaining their pov and what led to it all, I have a hard time comprehending (and thus empathizing) how you can let someone so evil, manipulative, ill intentioned have so much power of you? How do you freely give your mind and memories to another person to twist and rewrite to fit any narrative they want? Very modern day Charles Manson vibes.

Oh and the court documents showed this man’s DOB. November 16, 1959, NY. Another scorpio. Regardless of birth time, it’s a Scorpio/Gemini moon.

This is one of the more disturbing and confusing documentaries I’ve seen and I’m honestly having a hard time processing it. Also, I am reading updates that 2 of the girls are still struggling with Stockholm syndrome to this day.

I am sure that nobody who watching these documentaries will never need this knowledge to save themselves from similar situation.

I am finding it’s better to not watch such stuff.

It can mess you up.

Hey you never know. There are some dark and evil people in this world

I agree though on some level, I just finished it and it was horrific. Now I have to think about this all day

reminds me of how one of my brothers tried to start a frat and conduct hazing (pre-college). got kicked out for it. this dude started to wear only black shirts pre-teen years and used to write love letters to some girl using only red ink. grew up as a man constantly neglecting and abusing his kids (his daughter he hates coz she's female) and beating my sister in law whilst reminding her of how 'thankful' she should be to him for 'taking her in' instead of being out on the streets.

uhm she has a family and a house? weird flex but hmmkay. and you're like basically unemployed most times coz you wanna rely on family and inheritance.

sadly, some people don't 'grow out' of that edgy, controlling and delusional personality.

maybe why i never take scorpio dudes srsly.
