LOL it won't fade over 3 days. I have one at the top of my foot & I wear a lot of open shoes, it still looks very nice. It is 2 years old.

FIRST OFF WHERE IS THE TATOO AT. IS IT A TRAMP STAMP
OR ON THE TOP OF THE BACK ARM LEG ANKLE TITS?
DEPENDS IM NOT SURE YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FADING
I GO SOUTH IN WINTER DON'T SEE ANY FADED TATS ON THE BEACH AND MOST OF THE PEOPLE HAVE VERY LITTLE SKIN COVERED.

I would mix A+D ointment, which is what you should already be keeping on it, and sunscreen (50+). Then keep it on there as you would sunscreen when sweating or wet.

I love it I just want to protect it. It is a very dark tattoo, I have fairly tan skin but I don't want it to fade. It's going to be hard to keep it out of the son at a 3 day outdoor event. I will use the strong SPF as you all suggested. Thank you!!!
