I got my first tattoo last Friday and next weekend I have a 3 day outdoor concert to attend. Any suggestions on what to do to protect the color, after 5 excrutiating hours I don't want it to be faded or ugly being out in the sun. I have some heavy duty sunscreen already any additional advice would be wonderful?!! smile
LOL it won't fade over 3 days. I have one at the top of my foot & I wear a lot of open shoes, it still looks very nice. It is 2 years old.
Where is it?
FIRST OFF WHERE IS THE TATOO AT. IS IT A TRAMP STAMP
OR ON THE TOP OF THE BACK ARM LEG ANKLE TITS?
DEPENDS IM NOT SURE YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FADING
I GO SOUTH IN WINTER DON'T SEE ANY FADED TATS ON THE BEACH AND MOST OF THE PEOPLE HAVE VERY LITTLE SKIN COVERED.

oh man I bet the top of the foot HURT!

It does! It was worth it though cause it's beautiful. It goes around the ankle to the top of the foot, it looks like an anklet made of flowers.
Tell everyone you were drunk.

Just use regular sunscreen. After two weeks, it's be fine.

+1
I would mix A+D ointment, which is what you should already be keeping on it, and sunscreen (50+). Then keep it on there as you would sunscreen when sweating or wet.
SORRY TO SAY NO TRAMP STAMP
I love it I just want to protect it. It is a very dark tattoo, I have fairly tan skin but I don't want it to fade. It's going to be hard to keep it out of the son at a 3 day outdoor event. I will use the strong SPF as you all suggested. Thank you!!!
Didn't they have stuff at the parlor to help it heal faster and protect it?! They should have those on sale........
