I know I should just let it go but ffs, some people just nit pick over anything at work.
In our office, the receptionist constantly sends emails to complain about the kitchen. Wash up after yourself, don’t leave your food in the fridge. Then you have everyone pointing fingers. You make a cup of tea and leave the bag in the sink and it’s like you’ve killed someone!
It’s not just this job, similar thing happened at another place. Do people seriously have to bitch and moan over everything minor thing? I’m not the common dominator, just someone that thinks it’s not a big deal. I clean up after you one day you do the same The next… it’s that simple… isn’t it?
What else do people around you complain about which you feel is unnecessary?

The cold weather. I can't stand it when people complain about my kind of weather around me. Let me enjoy the cold in peace and relaxation without the complaints. Hot, humid and warm weather (which btw I'm not a fan of) is absolutely fine.

lol some people can be really uptight about trivial things...nit picky people actually stress themselves out more than anything....you sometimes wonder if they ever get tired of being so fussy...one of my best friend is like this and he’s always stressing himself out lol 😂 he’s a virgo. super particular about things lol but then he’s so lax about things that you shouldn’t be lax about lol which is interesting lol
i agree with you that people should work together instead of pointing fingers ( if person A does it on Monday, person B can do it on Tuesday etc )
Or whoever notices can do it too.
i don’t like correcting people so if I see something that needs doing, i’ll just do it quietly lol it’s less drama that way haha

Could it be because it's always the receptionist picking up after people so she's sick of it? I agree with her. You're an adult. Take care of your own shit. 😜Nobody wants to clean up after someone else and especially at work.

Just clean up after yourself (without having to be asked). Simple.
What’s the receptionist’s sign?

I always do, I have my own cup and it’s used washed and put away. Their grip and it’s not just the receptionist, another staff member is that someone uses stuff washed and leaves in the dry rack.
Yesterday, I dared leave my tea bag in the sink. Next time I’ll drip it all over the rubbish bin lid as it’s too hot to handle once you’ve taken it out and put it straight in the bin.
If the kitchen was ever spotless and stocked people probably would keep it that way. There are no t-towels because no one wants to wash them. There’s a filthy rag and paper towels.
Anyway, that was yesterday. Today I’ll stay away except on my floortime and Morning meeting which I’m sure it’ll be mention again.
It’s just a repetitive bitch and witch hunt.

This is an enormous amount of energy over a tea bag.

When I spend 3hrs of my time (4.5 with commute) to meet with a needy client, hold their hand, and markup their yard so they can better visualize the design. We leave feeling good, they made decisions and say they are eager to see the revised final.
Then literally the next day I get a vid from them saying jk we changed our mind and not sure anymore. How about x, y, and z instead?

My work thing is I tell people NOT to approach me with a problem until I can take off my damn coat. Like give me a minute already! 🫣

Contrary to popular belief, it's near impossible to ruin my day. Mostly because 90% of the time I feel uncomfortable and expect things to go wrong to begin with, and in general, people don't surprise me. Even if they are truly fucked up. In my mind it's just a human being human. I feel like real shit could actually go down, and I would still go about my day. I would likely think and talk about it, but it wouldn't really surprise me. Luckily I keep that hidden, so to most people I seem like nothing more then a normal quiet person. Meanwhile I'm thinking how crazy yet not surprising it would be if someone randomly went nuts at any given time. Mostly because I expect humans to be human.
