Posted by Jumpin_JupiterWe had toy guns too. Remember cap guns? They had the little paper caps that went "pap.". All gens had toy guns.
I wonder whatever happen to the days back when I was coming up when kids used to play with model train sets, barbie dolls and teddy bears? I guess those aren't good enough for kids in today's society. Kids playing with toy guns gonna grow up wanting a real gun and probably gonna get one too.
Posted by VenusAquariusYeah I remember cap guns. I always found that boring.Posted by Jumpin_Jupiter

I learned how to shoot a rifle in school - skeet shooting... I think it was shop class. I was always the only girl in shop.click to expand

Posted by IceStormOh yeah I know. But back then in the 50s I'm sure there wasn't much violence going on involving guns. It was safe to leave all your doors prop open all wee hours of the night. Guns back then in those days didn't have any influence on kids. I don't think me and none of my siblings grew up playing with toy guns. Having earth parents, they wouldn't tolerate any of us playing with guns toy or real. That's the point I was getting at. But hey I'm not one to make such a big deal out of this. It's really all good as long as they have fun. But like the op say...where are the parents? How is this type of toy ok?Posted by Jumpin_Jupiter

From Blood Meridian, by Cormac McCarthy:
All other trades are contained in that of war.
Is that why war endures?
No. It endures because young men love it and old men love it in them. Those that fought, those that did not.
That's your notion.
The judge smiled. Men are born for games. Nothing else. Every child knows that play is nobler than work. He knows too that the worth or merit of a game is not inherent in the game itself but rather in the value of that which is put at hazard. Games of chance require a wager to have meaning at all. Games of sport involve the skill and strength of the opponents and the humiliation of defeat and the pride of victory are in themselves sufficient stake because they inhere in the worth of the principals and define them. But trial of chance or trial of worth all games aspire to the condition of war for here that which is wagered swallows up game, player, all

I remember when Parents came after NWA because their music glorified violence.
How is a toy designed after a weapon of mass destruction not glorifying violence?
It is glorifying violence. Everything is glorifying violence. Violence is glorious and part of the fabric of life
Are you going to try and tell me NWA lyrics weren't violence? Lolclick to expand
Posted by BaitedHookThat is WAYYYYY too deep for plastic that shoots styrofoam nerf darts.
