+1 especially at the part that says "to see how much they were loved". Another one that makes me laugh is when people make threads to announce that they are deleting. News flash, some of us don't care, be gone already. Sheesh. This place is really full of attention seekers & bum kissers.
Btw, today I was watching a dog licking its tiny puppies from head to toe & it kind of reminded me of DXP & some of its members...the shameless arse smooching.

I think that this is a very reasonable request, though it would be enough if the Departing One just let _someone_ know so that person could communicate it to the board, in general.
Rational or not, we do get "invested" in people and friendships, here.
It's just plain good manners.
Unless, of course, you are totally pissed off at everyone.

Notice that its the Pisces who are the most concerned. We get very attached. Big Grin
I totally see your point though. But I've come to the realization that not everyone is as deeply invested in maintaining online friendships. The Pisces friends I've made seem to be the most invested. And of course one particularly awesome Pisces moon friend I've made. For others, this is just their daily dose of entertainment. So these types of threads will continue.

and i don't see why everybody making this such a big deal anyway. so some members make a thread that their leaving...... biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig deal. i'm not bothered by that. you guys make small issues out of nothing. like some of you don't like the fact that your profile view count keeps going up so you bitch about it on board and even on the front page of this site while talking to each other on it. ON THE FRONT PAGE. now thats striving for attention.

Nobody said it was a big deal. Are you kidding me? But it is still funny though when people make threads like that. You'd swear that they are resigning from office. When people make those kind of threads, the 1st thought in my mind is that they're looking for someone to stop them. You know, like the person that screams "I'm gonna fuck you up" before even throwing any punch...that just says "please restrain me" in other words. Some of us are not that invested in this place, so it's quite puzzling when you see other people take it so serious to the point of making emotional speeches instead of just quietly deleting. To each their own though, it just indicates how different we are as people.

^^ obviously i don't find anything funny about it myself. but to each their own and indicates how different we are as people like you said. and i couldn't agree more to that. so i guess its not funny to us geminis with water in their charts like myself and anearthygemini to make those sad threads, i guess. cuz we're the only two geminis that use to create them. if you can recall.

No, I don't recall because usually I ignore threads like that...I'm not here for that. Plus I didn't say it was universally funny to see such threads, it just is to me because I don't get the motivation behind it. It's just the internet, hello!
