I don't think for one moment that he actually gives a shit about running this country.

I see this purely as a self-serving endeavor. A challenge to be met for the greatest ego boost of his entire career (to see how many would vote for him/if he actually won).

Thoughts on Obama? Do you think he'll be elected for a second term?

Palin shot herself in the foot...no?

If we elect a Republican president do you think the economy will be better or worse within the next 4 years?

Serious responses to whatever you wish.

Thank You,

Donald Trump self-serving? Nahhhhhh

Lol

That hair OMG stop

I wouldn't really be that surprised if he runs and is actually elected. That's how smart Republicans are.

Ooopsie. :X
fwiw. I think Dems are dumb as fuck too. 🙂

Politics in general are a waste of time and this country has already gone to shit.
I can't believe we're even entertaining these leeches

LOL, Bri.

What a big ass idiot. Successful, but still an idiot.

I agree. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Ralph Nader won. It's anyone's game, IMHO.

Thoughts on Obama: he's only half black! He wasn't born in Africa, fuck you!

😄

Palin for prez!
Free moosetracks and boobjobs for everyone

I think this "issue" of his place of birth is ridic. They seriously have nothing else better to do.

Palin wouldn't last one day in office. Hell, they would shoot her between the eyes during her inauguration swearing ceremony...uuggghhh...

If shit goes down, I have family in Germany and friends in Canada, and they have better healthcare.

This is why it's always good to have options.

A lady I worked with started applying for her son's Canadian citizenship I believe before he was even 10. I asked her "why the rush?" and she said that it takes a long time, and that while she was in good health, mind, spirit, etc., she wanted to square it all away so that when he became an adult, he could have a plan B.

Dunno about the rest of Europe ( ohhh but I am going to travel more, guarantee it ). But in England I found everyone to be very warm and kind. London they were more standoffish, bustling and going about their business, but I think that you'd find in every more highly populated place. Just the energy level.
Everyone was fascinated by the little American, and accepting.

I'll just move overseas. Sorted.

What places do you have your eye on?

My family laughs all the time when I say this but, it's soon gonna be our turn to pack and get the hell up outta here.

My sister thinks this place is gonna be a third world country someday...reaching maybe.

I think I'll go where my heart is. You know how a place just seems to call you? You know if you'd stand there it would set off an echo. There is so much I've not seen and want too. Now that I know I won't erupt into an aerial ball of flame over the Ocean I am going to gun for places as finances allow. My son will be 18 in 3 years, no ties other than emotional really. And there is comp and phone, letters to stay in touch as I motate about on occasion. But definitely, moving sounds pretty delightful to me. 🙂

Someone told me that New York was "sort of fashioned" after London.

I know what you mean about the "hustle and bustle". It's like everyone's got something to do everyday, all day.

I felt very at home there, and the moment I saw Starbucks and Pret a Manger, I knew I was in good company. 🙂

I liked that it was clean and wildly diverse.

Prague is by far my fav European city. Hands down. It's the one place I feel like I can go back to time and again, and never get bored. The Jewish history and breathtakingly beautiful architecture completely blows me away. I would reccommend it to anyone. I plan to return in August.

Germany definitely, place of origin for me in part. Oh the architecture! It fair makes you want to weep with it. No fooling. I felt so very small, in awe seeing it. It's stood, just like that for hundreds and hundreds of years. Just as beautiful, just as real. I wasn't interested in the touristy bits, though I was dragged there just the same. Want to see it through a locals eyes. Where do they go, what do they do, eat where they eat, what places move them? Walk around, let it steep in; the uni near my mates flat.. wooded around. I could have happily walked through that forest all day.
How nice that you've been to all those places. 🙂

Yes, I know that feeling and that's why I say I love Prague so much.

18 in 3 years...but you can still take a trip now...no? Leave his tail with family or a good friend? Hell, get you a cocoon and throw back a few glasses of Red. lol

Met a couple in London who waited until their kids were of age and then they took off like a rocket. This was Nov of '07 and they had already been to about 2 other countries earlier that year.

LOL!!! Those darling little curtain climbers. He stays with his father, Grandmother or big sister ( she's 20 ). My eldest goes into meltdown when I travel, she worries so. "You won't come back Momma, what am I going to do if you move there?" My answer? "Fly to me at Christmas, call your mother an awful lot. Be a terrific excuse to teach grandbabies about a different place." Then she'll roll her huge blues and come in close for a hug and kiss. My son takes a different tack, he'll pick me up and squash me in a hug then do the growing male 'harumph' of "Love you Mom, but I'm a DUDE now." and tells me to have a great time.

Awwww...they're stuck on you like glue.

Funny, now that I'm thinking about it on the reverse, I was the same with my mom a few years ago when she mentioned moving to North Carolina (we live in NY so it's only a couple of hours, but still) with her husband. I was behaving like your eldest (my sister was fine with it) but the only difference is that I started thinking up ways to sabotage her trip immediately. *evil grin* She can be annoying as all hell when she's around but, how could she leave us like that— I played the baby-of-the-family-spoiled-brat role to the hilt! Needless to say she's not going anymore. 😉

It sounds like you and your kids have a really strong bond and they seem really sweet. I can understand them not wanting you to go.

Donald Trump is a joke. Running a multi-billion dollar business & running the United States and/or a country are 2 DIFFERENT things.

Ok, so the guy is rich? So what! There are about 17 other people in this world that make 10xs more money than he does. If simply being rich can grant you the opportunity to become the president of an entire country, what on earth do we need politics for!?! If it's just about whose got more money than all the guys in school for political science or who are getting all this political experience under their belts oughta quit & instead start focusing more on how large their bank accounts are!

Seriously... Paris Hilton has 1/3 of Donald's money...so what should she run for president too?! Mark Zuckerberg (Founder of facebook) is now worth what Trump is worth, so should even he be "good enough" to run for president too? I mean come on!

Donald has no political experience. And claiming to read the Wall Street Journal or be "up to date" on current issues going on in the world is NOT the equivalent of having political experience. Trump has NO military experience nor does he or any of the members of his family have any political background. Since when can you run a country without having any political/military experience?!

so much for my link...

The Repubs have no real options...might as well use Trump.

I don't think he'll change his hair for ANYTHING.

Romney?

I gotta research his azz.

Romney is a Mormon, true.

Thanks.

Watched the video and did my own research...

Thought I was gonna stumble upon another David Berg or Jim Jones story but thankfully, it was a lot less severe than that...whew!

Since its inception, the Mormon church has evolved a great deal, and one thing I was happy to learn was the discontinuance of polygamy (over a century ago). With the exception of maybe two, I don't take issue with any of their "Articles of Faith" as they are pretty much the same as those taught to me growing up in the Mennonite Church.

"The Book of Mormon" is founded on some of the most bizarre ideas I've ever heard, and I think Joseph (founder) was really just mentally ill, passing himself off as a clairvoyant. 🙂

It would be foolish for anyone to think that a president's religious beliefs have no bearing on his political decisions (and maybe not all) so I can understand any apprehension towards Romney.

They say they are not a cult, but I have Mormons in my neck of the woods all of the time and I must admit that they do have a very cult-like feel to them, if that makes any sense. quite eerie.

Personally, I am trying to convince my daughter how cool Skype is. A hard sale just yet, but I think I am making progress.

And of course, fly them to wherever you are anyway.

Actually, I was born a Mormon, and grew up in Utah. Ya' want some Mormon dirt, I got some Mormon dirt!!!

In reality, most people who are Mormon are just your run of the mill Evangelical types. Nothing more, nothing less. The problem is the people from Utah are freaked out, paranoid, jerks. Of course, Utah is the center of the Mormon world, so that perception is given to all Mormons. The reality is that all people (almost all) from Utah are freaked out, paranoid, jerks. One of the reasons I had to leave the state.
Mitt Romney is not one of the freaked out, paranoid, jerks.

There is absolutely no chance I would vote for him, but it is because of his politics, not his religious background.
If you will take the trouble to look up some Romney history you will learn that he managed to save the Olympics for Utah some time back. The corner was turned toward Utah with the benefit of liquor and whores, liberally applied to the Olympic decision makers. Mr. Romney did not seem to be involved, but it still leaves a real bad taste in my mouth.

I would have to say that I would find Mr. Romney the best option I can see for the Republican's. So, as I state, it is very unlikely I would vote for Mr. Romney. If it came down to Trump vs Romney, then I would go with Romney, so you get my point.

I think Mr. Obama is very underrated, and underestimated. He keeps being blasted for not being hard line enough, or far to liberal. Still, he keeps making progress on and pretty good agenda. He doesn't get it all, no one ever does, but he has in my opinion done more positive things for this country in 1.5 years than w did in 8.

Exactly. The phone ( or other forms of communication ) are in place, many are free or close to it' and a good way to keep in touch. I wouldn't fall off the face of the map, I'd just be in a different locale. 🙂
