What do you mean by flake out?
A guy talks to a chick for a half hour or so, and the two exchange phone numbers.
He texts her, asks her out to dinner and she excitedly agrees.
Then, suppose an hour or so before the actual dinner is supposed to happen, she texts that she won't make it or even worse, she doesn't even bother to show up.
Why do chicks do that kind of thing to men?

Someone just got rejected...
No, just been trying to find out why the Millennials are diametrically antithetical to the normal and more civilized behavior of the older generations.
My curiosity also extends to why they refuse to talk on the telephone, and instead play with text messages.
Their behavior is actually archaic, since the telegraph went out of style in the last century.
She wasn't all that interested, possibly didn't know how to say it.
Like buyer's remorse.

I've been on the receiving end of that behavior. Usually its because she's either hiding something she doesn't want found out or she is dealing with insecurity. Once or twice, she was probably thinking she was getting a "better deal".
Its not limited to Millenials. I persnally find it disrespectful of the other person-its not being nice, protecting the other person's feelings, or some other happy horsebutter.
In the end, if the person flakes, how successful of a relationship would you expect to have with a person who does that? Plenty of fish out there.
Oh, and in one of the "better deal" instances above, I was contacted by said flake several months later with a bright and cheery "how are you". My response was "no thanks. I'm not a backup plan just because your adventure was a failure. Have a nice life."

I think most stuff like that is coming from ego not an authentic place in my experience. whenever i find myself doing stuff like that i don't find it connecting and out of body so in that sense, is what i mean when i say i dont find it real. it's not attaching to something deeper.

There's many a lady who will look the other way as long as their needs are met (financial, etc)...so DJ won't have problems..he just needs to find the right kind of woman that doesn't care sharing.

Flattered because you ask for her number and asked her out but given time analysing the situation decides that she really doesn't see anything there and the awkward dating and ending the date isn't worth putting herself through doing it all in person so flakes instead.
