I look at this case as two people (not a black kid shot by a white man) as everyone else should.
That's how I come to the conclusion I have. Making it a racial issue is not even productive.
On another note...I didn't even know people still used the word "cracker" lmao
& it kind of offends me that when that girl testified and said Trayvon called Zimmerman that everyone said she only said it because she was "young and emotional"
Had it been a different scenario...like someone testifying Zimmerman had used a similar racial slur for Trayvon...there would have been a fucking riot.
Well in this case Zimmerman one upped Martin, now didn't he...
I'm sorry if you took what I said as some kind of attempt at racially one upping?
I just think it's sad how this case, and others like it, ends up being justification for racist bullshit on both sides. I don't understand why it always has to go there. Why can't it just be one person shot by another, you know?
I'm white though, so as I've been told a million times probably I wouldn't understand.

Trust me. I work in legal field.
They arrest people for petty crimes, while killers get off free.
If you can't afford a good atty, you are screwed here.
There is no justice here. This was politically charged case, but justice was not served.
I hate Florida. What an IDIOTic state. SMFH!

"In his February 27, 2001 address to a Joint Session of Congress, President George W. Bush declared: "Racial profiling is wrong, and we will end it in America. In so doing, we will not hinder the work of our nation's brave police officers. They protect us every day -- often at great risk. But by stopping the abuses of a few, we will add to the public confidence our police officers earn and deserve."[7]"

What was your question again?
Thanks for answering, gemini
I am trying understand the definition of "Racial Profiling".
What is Racial Profiling? What are some examples other than those alleged to have
occured by Zimmerman.
Some actual laws would be nice, too, please.

european news broadcasted it a bit - it was not a sensation over here. they showed the verdict being spoken. riots have not been mentionend (yet) only showed protestors outside the court building. this could really escalate though.

People, please refrain from the back and forth insults, or take it elsewhere.
wiki provides a very extensive article about it .....

What happened was really a tragedy. i feel bad for Trayvons family, and am sad/worried about the fall out from the trial.
@MrFirebird cannot help but feel you are trolling a bit in light of something very serious. Life and death is not something to be flippant about, of course people are going to be emotional. That is why the justice system exist in the first place, to provide subjective judgement, although it can be corrupted.
Aside from the link that Nemesis provided, i have a question for you that may assist you in your trouble understanding racial profiling.
How many bald, white males do you see getting pulled over based on their similar appearance to a skinhead?
How many airport screening checks have you seen focused on nordic looking males after the 2011 Norway attacks?
How many upper middle class suburban white high school-college boys do you see getting questioned since columbine?
Or the Aurora bombings?
Or Oklahoma?
The reason why racial profiling is flawed is because you cannot racially profile a crime. It is ridiculous.
People often talk about middle Easterners as terrorist, but their are other active groups in the US that are much more a threat on a daily basis.
Hate groups, nationalist groups, gangs.Everyone kills, everyone commits crimes, and no one group is more likely than another.

the jury consisted of 6 women .... just for balance sake and objectivity why not 3 men/3 women?
five of these women were white/caucausian
oh boy! i can understand the turmoil.....

Lol@ George Zimmerman's civil rights....
What about most inalienable right to LIFE of that kid that he'll never get back?
God have mercy on everybody's soul. Even the murderer's.

I am NOT trolling for anything... I am fact finding. and I am trying to remain objective.
You haven't read everything I have posted - so... it would help to do so in order to catch up
to understanding where I am now. I am the one who started this thread.
You DO understand that there IS some validity as to the very real and current question of
whether or not George Zimmerman's Civil Rights were violated. - IF So it could be VERY Scandalous.
I am NOT making that up.
It's not about emotions it's about the law and whether the law has been broken by the government itself and the NAACP as well as Benjamin Crump who has been the Martin family's Civil Rights attorney.
I am trying to keep it real while asking legitimate questions. I have ALREADY stated my respect for Travon Martin's death and I respect his family's grief - nevertheless, as a US citizen, it is my obligation to be vigilant also for anyone else, George Zimmerman,

Hello MrFirebird
If i misunderstood you, I do apologize. Please do not assume that i would post without first doing back reading. I do try to be thorough.
I think you may have misunderstood me a bit as well. My post was for the most part about racial profiling, which you brought up several post back, and why i do not think it is legitimate.
I was referring to your commenting on other posters emotionalism, which why i stated that it is understandable for one to get emotional on such a topic, hence the need for an objective law.
Objectivity in this particular case is a loaded word, because almost from the start it became a racially, financially, and politically (especially due to Zimmerman's family background) charged case.
I noticed you keep emphasizing your status as a US citizen. Is there a reason for that? Also, you didnt answer my questions.
Furthermore, while factual evidence is definitely important, it the emotions and morals that lawyers appeal to in a jury, not facts. This is how propaganda, politics, and law work. And, while a great many cases are fairly solved , others are not .

Well, I for one hope for peace as does the Travon Martin family and the Zimmerman family.
IMHO, the US Mainstream media may likely feel otherwise. - It would be a field day for them.
Yes, it could escalate IF a shot rings out.
Over here, there are many groups who just don't get along.
Whether or not a riot breaks out, which I don't think will happen on the scale of the LA riots,
but for every action there is a reaction. - Again, I honestly don't think it's going to be anything
that bad - I haven't heard of anything yet. I was saying earlier that IF it broke out, it could escalate. - I think we are living in different times now, than back then, though so, it's all IFFY.
Where's over here? Riots are nothing new. We've had them approx. every 10 years in this country since our very beginning. LA was the first multicultural riot. The last riot I can think of is the Canadian one over soccer or hockey. I forget. The 'reaction' I see will be positive. It will most likely motivate people in Florida esp, the younger generations to get involved in political activism. I forget the last few events or trials that went on where people were screaming "There's going to be a riot!" and nothing even ever happened.click to expand
