LadyLibra, if you truly have chronic anxiety, a condition that's been diagnosed, you need to be treated for it.
You can ignore it, but it doesn't just typically "go away". Trust me, I've been down this road, and the thing it impacts the most is your sleep pattern.
I was diagnosed back last Feb. Yeah I'm grinding my teeth more at night now and I feel tense when I wake up and I know it is because I am anxious but I would really like to avoid meds if I can. I don't even like taking Tylenol, id rather find coping techniques.

I feel your pain. I've been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks for YEARS. I'm not on medication anymore for it because I didn't want to depend on it. It was a long journey, but I've pretty much overcome the panic attacks and anxiety. Look into cognitive thinking therapy. There are apps you can download on your phone that help with anxiety. Look online and do research. There's tons and tons of helpful information on dealing with anxiety. If you practice these techniques on a regular basis you will find that your anxiety will improve, but it's a process that you have to stick to. It's weird how you're also a Cancer moon who suffers from anxiety. I think our moons make us hypersensitive to our environments and others which in turn puts us in a greater risk of developing anxiety issues. You CAN overcome this without medication though.
I have my 2 cents. See, to me anxiety brings up my bp level. If I wouldn't come myself down with meds it can cause a damage but yours might be different
though in anxiety I was delivered to a hospital with 186/140. Not a good idea to meditate.

I smoke weed about it. Although, at times that can make it worse as well. That coupled with inhaling Lavender seems to help me though.

Scorpio Moon.
The lavender calms you?
Yes, very much so. It is instant. I used to carry it in a vile around my neck, but I haven't needed it that frequently as of late.

Just inhale it deeply, as deep as possible. Do it a few times until you feel better. I always instantly felt relieved, but would do it a few more times any way 😛

That is very natural im gonna try this thanks @blackphase !

Eat less processed food that's in a box or frozen, which is usually high salt, high sugar, high additives. That's my go-to answer, but what's your day like? Stop and think about daily situations that may make you tense or unsure of yourself. People being people and making drama that tries to pull you in. Workplace, family, media. Anything that rubs you weird. Many little annoyances can add up over time and make it hard to truly relax. I hope you find a solution.
"Many little annoyances can add up over time and make it hard to truly relax"
This happens a lot. Sometimes I don't realize how anxious I am until I sit down and take a breath and I can be snappy about dumb shit and I realize then I realize I'm anxious.

I have severe anxiety, but I refuse to take meds for it, but i am so tired most days that I fall asleep before meditating. How do you deal with anxiety and what is your moon sign?
Pisces sun, Sag Moon

I have/had generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and PTSD. It started to affect my life, and my ability to be the parent I wanted to be just too much. I went to therapy and I thought she would send me to a psychiatrist for meds. Turned out that talk therapy helped me so much I decided not to try meds. My therapist is like an angel, I swear. I'm back to doing things that I couldn't do before, because of the anxiety - no more panic attacks and now I look forward to most things. I have more to do off my "scare" list.

It is no fun to live that way, I really understand.

As far as herbal remedies go, and we have a naturopath in the family, lemon balm is a great natural stress reliever (a few drops in water, it's nasty straight up but you can take it like that) and suntheanine (or L-theanine) will help you relax, and sleep. Better for you than melatonin because it's not habit forming.

And there's always yoga (which you know, is ironic because I couldn't take it because I was afraid I'd have a panic attack in the room) or cardio exercise which releases endorphins which flood your brain with feel-good feelings. 🙂

I hope it helps to know you aren't alone.

Understood, but clearly your case is different from hers and mine. She never stated that she had any health issues similar to yours that require medication. Hence my take on this particular situation. In most cases, anxiety can be dealt with without medication.

It isn't a health issue. But when your anxiety kicks in - your heart rate goes up
and it isn't good in any way.

Xanax, Gemini.

There was a thread about Gemini's anxieties, seemed like we ALL have it.
Bad ones too...
Lol! My all times fav!

Xanax...been living with this for quite awhile. Insomnia, panick attacks, anxiety, all rolled into one for me.

It's driving me CRAZY! :/

I don't know if you had heard of - XANAX cures hangover on the top of the other awesome things you can do with that.
And it proves my point - after night of binging drinking you wake up ready to die because you are dehydrated (drink fluid)
and your body going trough withdrawal so heart rates goes up. Xanas, please...🙂)

I know what happens during anxiety attacks. It may not feel good, but it won't kill you. It's a natural human response being triggered at the wrong time, that's all. No one has ever died from an anxiety attack unless they already had preexisting/underlying health issues.

NO! Trust me with bp up to 205 - there are plenty of who did. Plus not everyone is aware of their health conditions especially youngsters in Europe.

I thought I had anxiety. I would have anxiety so bad I wanted to clutch my stomach. I realized that the anxiety reduced around 130-200 most days and I would be fine. I started thinking I was fine after I ate my lunch. Last month, I was at my mom’s and I hated the coffee there. So I stopped drinking coffee. Guess what. No anxiety. I kept it up for amonth until yesterday. No anxiety all month. Yesterday, I was so irritable I wanted to rip someone’s face off. I also didn’t sleep at all. After a month of sleeping great while not on coffee. Lesson learned. No Coffee for me.

To be fair, I am not sure if it is the coffee or the sugar I put in the coffee either way not worth it.

Worth a shot. I keep telling my partner to give it a go. He is an Aqua and gets bad anxiety.

Coffee spiked your bp and you started to go nuts!
I once got myself checked into the hospital after Starbacks.
They poured me a wrong coffee. My nurse said once she got blind on
one eye from their coffee and her ophtolmologist said it happens more than you know!

So bp going up like that is never OK ms Alixia!

I only knew it cures me of everything! Lol!

There was one time, I couldn't sleep for 2 days and I got the panick attack. Those kind where your heart beats very fast and you feel like just jumping off a cliff to ends it. I took xanax and then fall asleep within few minutes.

I woke up like a normal person. Since then, xanax became my best friend. I know it's not good to rely on all this pills, but I really have no choice. 😢

No, someone here says you can't die from anxiety, so even if you DID
jump off the cliff you wouldn't be hurt.
So let's try next time. But who is going to tell her? 🙂) Alicia I mean...

@Gemitati I'll let this article explain it for you since you cannot understand what I'm explaining to you. I won't repeat myself anymore.

I am not even gonna click on it and you don't have to explain it to me unless
you are a doctor and have Xanax🙂
I was an emt. I've been in and studied the medical field for quite some time. I also have personal experience with anxiety, but you just need to feel "right" though. Ok, I'll humor you so you can sleep better tonight. You're "right". Goodbye now.

I take an SSRI for depression/anxiety

Leo moon
Can you drink with THAT?
Yes.. In fact, when I do drink.. I'll tend to drink A LOT.

However, the SSRI tends to diminish my desire to drink in the first place. It was one of the main reasons I started taking it. I used to use alcohol as a coping mechanism to deal with the constant emotions I was able to deal with.

I am Russian so I do not think anything will diminish my desire to drink🙂)

Normally anxiety is a build up of pent up energy for me.

I run. I work out. And I run hard and try to experience a cardiac arrest. I run until I'm numb.

I'm a Libra moon.

Once I run, I feel better and feel more likely to relate and be compassionate to others instead of self serving, which relieves my anxiety.

I normally run and dance too but it is freezing here now and I haven't had the energy to dance, but I think that is because I haven't really been eating because I haven't had an appetite.

I'm sorry I haven't read more but if you fall asleep before doing your meditation, don't you think that's a cop out? Come on.

You know its good for you yet you give up!?!?!?!?!

80% of the time I don't want to run but I wake up and make it a habit. Once the gear is on and I'm out the front door I have no choice but to run. (And because if I walk out my apt in running gear and turn back around I'll feel stupid)

So make yourself meditate. Make yourself do it.

No I'm literally so tired it takes everything in me to attempt to cook dinner after I cook dinner im spent I have a toddler by time I cook for him give him a tubby and lay him down I've pasted out with him.

Anxiety is your subconscious screaming for you to pay more attention to deeper issues you may not be paying attention to consciously.

Like putting on a brave face like everything is ok...when there are deeper things within you that may need attention...I would do some soul searching along with meditation as you've stated.

Ask yourself why is it when I'm here in this instant in life anxiety occurs...is this connected to this or that....could be unsettled past occurrences that you thought were nothing causing this.

I used to have major anxiety issues, I started doing things that triggered my anxiety so I could over come it. Like getting on an airplane and after that I started to realize I was worrying for nothing. I used mediation every night to sleep and calm down and I stopped drinking coffee which was a major help. I avoid caffeine most of the time. When I get anxiety I feel it in my throat and then my chest right after, I have found breathing techniques and journaling really therapeutic.

Currently I smoke weed, exercise, meditate and am on an SSRI

In the past I also wanted toi avoid medication and I did well with meditation and cognitive therapy.

Your exhaustion is part of the anxiety, your body has cortisol going through it all day, in fight or flight mode, we arent meant to be like that for long periods of time.

There literally is no 'cure' everythying even meds are a 'way of coping' so just find whatever works best for you.

One good trick I use is counting in to four, holding the breath for 7 and then exhaling for the coun of 8.
almost immediate relief from anxiety.

I'm a leo Moon.

I've never been diagnosed with anxiety, but I definitely get those butterflies. I have a Virgo Moon, so I'm pretty sensitive to the physical environment. When I have "anxiety" problems, I listen to music, meditate, take a bath, and write in my journal. Yes, I have a journal, but it's not really a diary, but more of textbook regarding my life. I write in it whenever I keep thinking about the same things or have important information I'm afraid to lose. It's great because I can organize, condense, and clarify any sort of information that comes to me. Virgo is all about the tangible and it must be why I enjoy journaling so much.

I use it as a fuel to motivate myself. I used it once to quit smoking, and now once more to start exercising.

I just embrace the anxiety until I'm a paranoid mess. I let it get to me multiple times, then I get to the point where it doesn't phase me anymore. At that point I've mentally beat my own fear and doubt, therefore I can physically move on with confidence and make actual changes in my life style .

I just have a random 'break' from time to time like go somewhere that calms me down. Typically the sea or mountain with no people around. It's just to clear my mind of mundane things not necessarily getting rid of it.

I have a hard time meditating due to anxiety, when I try to meditate, my head feels uncomfortable. Like there's some kind of pressure hindering me to meditate. My body doesn't calm down at all.

Binaural thingys doesn't work and those people that keep saying, "Relax". No, it just doesn't work.
Either nature or medication for me

People shouldn't confuse anxiety with stress though. Stress is easier to get rid off. Anxiety stays for a while.

I used to have really bad anxiety/panic attacks but no longer and was able to overcome without meds
What worked for me was learning everything I could about anxiety. How and why we have anxiety in the first place.
When in the middle of an anxiety or panic attack & you feel like you're dying it's important to know that anxiety is actually there to keep you alive not kill you. It's why people don't walk out in front of bus's and cavemen avoided being eaten by the saber tooth tiger. Anxiety is a friend not an enemy.
People who have anxiety tend to be sensitive and pick up on physical sensations that most others wouldn't notice. Causing feelings of anxiousness. It's like there's a little glitch in our system that alerts us to dangers that aren't there. Remembering that anxiety is there to help not to hurt gave me the ability to thank myself for the warning, remind myself that it wasn't needed at the moment and let it pass. The more I sent myself this message, the less I had episodes.
Also I found boxed breathing techniques while laying in a dark room with a fan on helped.
Do away with coffee/caffeine if you drink it, this can cause your heart to race/cause heart palpitations
I also notice I feel more anxious when I don't get enough sleep or at a certain time of the month when hormones are fluctuating.
