Movies & Adages, Aphorisms, Apothegms, &

...Axioms.

(Damn, I just love alliteration)

Anyway... just got through watching Stephen King's "1922" with my Taurus son. I discuss literary elements with my children whether it be movies, actual literature, or in life itself.

So, I told my son that movie "1922' is a perfect depiction of the adage:

"The sins of the father falls on his family."

This is one of my favorites.

The application of this topic, to movies, can get funny... particularly if used simplisticly like...

"The Island of Doctor Moreau"

And the axiom, "First do no harm."

Astrologically speaking...adages, aphorisms, apothegms, & axioms are the key to understanding the lessons of the North & South Node and/or understanding the sign axes.

My son and I agree that the Stephen King's "1922," deals with the Taurus/Scorpio axis: Taurus Motto: "I have"

Scorpio Motto: "I desire"

But, I'll come back and illustrate further.

I'm interested in others' application of adages, aphorisms, apothegms, & axioms to movies. Brief or lengthy illustration of how the movie and the adages, aphorisms, apothegms, & axioms relate.
Movies & Adages, Aphorisms, Apothegms, & Axiom

In exploration of the themes of the movie rendition of Stephen King’s “1922” and how it is representative of the Taurus/Scorpio Axis, the 2nd House/the 8th House, as well as perfect depiction of the adage: "The sins of the father falls on his family."

The Taurus/Scorpio Axis is the Axis of Possession - those of Self (Taurus) and Others (Scorpio). This is also a money axis… and much more.

Taurus / Scorpio Axis

Self / Other (Possessions) All axes follow the Aries/Libra Axis in this way which is the axis of Self/Other. However, as you move down the list of axes, you have to fill-in the Blank. Here with the Taurus/Scorpio axis, the proverbial blank to be filled-in is Possession. This pattern is also representative of the delineation between personal and interpersonal signs and planets.

So, let’s go down the line of this axis…

Taurus/Scorpio

• Self/Other Possessions

Can we describe Taurus as a rather self-possessed sign? I think so.

• Financial Capability/Resourcefulness

• Making Money/ Investing Money

• Financial Freedom/ Financial Liability and Responsibility

• Generating Capital/Acquisitions

• “good money”/ “bad money”

In the movie 1922, a rancher conspires to murder his wife for financial gain and convinces his teenage son to participate. You gotta watch to fully understand the 2nd House/8th House Taurus/Scorpio themes.

Please do

I want to learn about that Taurus Scorpio axis
Here you go... finished.
I think I want to explore the adage "happy wife, happy life" next. Getting my thoughts together on the astrological aspects.

The movie is "Revolutionary Road" with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
I don't know why but 1922 reminded me of Steinbeck's 'Of Mice & Men', the horror and gory bits being add-ons for dramatic effect.

Although it didn't come to mind at the time, I can see it.
The movie is "Revolutionary Road" with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. makes me think of the adage "happy wife, happy life."

I think this one will involve the Leo/ Aquarius Axis. Yes, indeed.

@Ram416,

Do you agree with my assessment astrologically?

@Ram416,

Do you agree with my assessment astrologically?
I don't really think about astrology after watching a movie but now that you've broken it down in detail, it does make a lot of sense.
