i watched it too after the oscars and ya know...pffffffff

yes it was entertaining. yes it was good. but really, it didn't move me. i didn't walk away from it with the same battle scars as i did with classics like platoon and full metal jacket.

it was all that suspenseful to me either but i dunno, some movies are more moving in the theatres. maybe this was one of them. it's definitely a good film but epic? no.

Didn't no so many girls liked war films. I'm not a fan of the genre myself, but Full Metal Jacket is outstanding, easily the best war movie I've seen! If there ever was such a thing as a "psychological war film" surely this is it.

Someone mentioned Platoon. Damn that film was so lame. It goes through every clich? in the book, and the narration is so cheesy. Sure, it has its moments but overall it was pretty dated even in 1986! Full Metal Jakcet came out in 1987 and it still does what it set out to do back then.

Oh give it a rest, Qbone! You think what's coming out of your mouth is original and radical somehow? You sound like a bitch. We all know it's a dirty war by now. And on another note, you should really look up what "propagande" means since the word is being tossed around a lot these days. A film about a war or a person's perception of his situation in that war is not a propagande film no matter how controversial his thoughts and ideas are.
