I posted earlier in another thread about this movie and didn't want to give it away, but since you've seen it, here goes.

"Christ" really has nothing to do with the plot of the story. It opens with the green string being woven and then placed around Ryan's wrist. Notice that there is only white nothingness, this is a key element as well...the string represents Creation. Then you notice that it opens with the first of three realities, all created by this particular character.

This is an enjoyable and quite enlightening look at how realities can be made and dismissed by not only by the character represented in the film, (he is a god from another time that creates these realities and gets lost in them...they become an addiction to him. His woman and other gods come back, work their way into his realities, and take him "home"), but quite possibly by each and every human alive. We are all gods, creating our own realities each and every day...destroying those we don't wish to continue in, interweaving scenarios with those we know, don't know, and ourselves inserted into different characters as well.

The Nines is about realizing that we are what we create, are able to get caught up in our fantasies, make them realities, dump those realities for new ones, "and all the world's a stage"

Another reference...the number NINE...in numerology this is the number of completion and the search for spirituality (again, being the creator in the beginning, and the one that completes that creation)...and the references to the number SEVEN is likened to those that are seekers to the grand riddle of life, (which is what the heavy set girl in the film was doing, and of course all the other 7's), finding our mystical connections to spirituality.

This was a film that makes one think and reassess their beliefs and entertains while doing so. BTW, check out the "Big Lobowski" and the "Hudsucker Proxy"...both films were done by the same people that did this one, and are filled with little "jewels" of information on spirituality and alternate/parallel realities.
