ANY ONE THAT NAMES ANY FEMALE RAPPER TO COME OUT IN THE LAST 10 YEARS need to shut the hell up yo - LOL.

Lil Kim is VERY very close...flow is ill, voice is rough, rhymes are oh so BROOKLYN.

AND ...the woman IS an icon - like it or not. (a cancer too 😉

HOWEVER............. M.C. LYTE IS THE BEST FEMALE RAPPER OF ALL TIME

period dot.

She inspired me to pick up the mic when i was ten.

Lyte in her prime was damn near like Jay or Big in brooklyn.

Lil Kim might not talk about what you WANT her to talk about...but don't hate on her skills. She is hot!

I must say...I forgot all about Lauryn Hill...But with all her mental breakdowns...Who can say!

And I forgot about Missy Elliot, but she is more of an "entertainer" than a "rapper" She does everything but you cannot say that someone who uses "5,6,7,8,9,10" as a lyric is the hottest female rapper.

The Queen is Hot! Eve is DEFINITELY hot, but my money is still on Lil Kim...

And WHO said Remy Ma? ARE YOU JOKING? You might as well have said Shawna...or the chick who had that song "My neck, My back"!

Cancerlady: "And WHO said Remy Ma? ARE YOU JOKING?"

HELL NO!!! I luv a chic who can spit a hardcore flo and look good too! Shawna's fine, but she ain't half as nice at rappin. Lauren Hill is ill, but she UGLY as HELL. Missy Elliot is nice too, but she look disgusting (LOL). Lil kim look GOOD, but Remy Ma will embarass her in a rap battle. I'm thinking hottest meaning sexiest, and I think MC Lyte is ugly, along with Queen Latifah and they will all lose to Remy Ma in a rap battle (Maybe except Lauren Hill). I see that we need more men to comment...

In my opinion, Trina will always reign supreme!

Medicine is a science...music is an art. You can't compare the two because one is fact, the other is the artist's truth...open to interpretation.

Let's say one doctor says this pill is better for treating the cold, while another doctor says holistic medicine is. We can measure which one is better by the rate at which the person got better as well as other factors that can be deemed concrete. Now if I say that Missy is better than Kim, and you say Kim is better than Missy....how do we "measure" who is right? I may like the simplistic rhymes and relate to them better whereas you may relate more to Kim's gritty style . A matter of opinion and perception...neither of us is right or wrong.

You may have a better outlook on what is "technically" correct as a producer as far as the music, ie levels AND you may have a good idea of what will SELL...but you cannot say your opinion of what is "the best" should be considered the best by everyone just because you have that background. Trust me, I bet Dr.Dre, Timbaland, Jazzy Pha, The Neptunes, etc ALL have a different opinion of who is the best rapper of all time. They are all well respected producers in the hip-hop community...so who is right? Noone and Everyone.

I feel you ---- it's inherently filled with bias and personal truths.

But i do think that at some point... a clear winner has to emerge.
People arrive at the same answer NOT because they took the same steps to get there,
but maybe that answer was just the RIGHT answer.

But then again...we got a bunch of idiots that believe we're in Iraq fighting for democracy so .... people will believe anything.

Back to the Female M.C.'s ---
Scientifically --- it would be a comparison of record sales.
a comparison of discography's to see who stayed around the longest
Hell... record companies give bigger budgets and later release dates
to higher priorty artists... and you could just break down rhymes line by line and see who.....

you know what ??

I see your point.

To ME -- rhyme scheme and complexity are very important...
but i actually do know some knuckleheads who never thought that an m.c.
is supposed to conjure up thoughts.

But that's why this should've been specific.

WHO IS THE BEST FEMALE RAPPER based on lyrics — based on style /image —

you know ??

But there is something to be said for public opinion...... no one could ever truly believe that Remy Ma could out spit L Boogs, Rah Digga, Lyte etc.

btw - eve is not all that cute to me.......she look like them things in that old Super Mario bros game...them things you jump on and they squish

geez...I thought this whole thing was just a fun thread where you can place your opinions without getting attacked, but fine...

Remy Ma for start, if you truly like rhyme scheme and complexity in a female rapper...it would be none other than Remy Ma. Her metaphors had me doubting my skill as a rapper, secondly, she beat Rah Digga in an underground rap battle before she blew up, (no disrespect to the old school, but Remy is too creative with her words for MC Lyte. That's like having yesterdays Big Daddy Kane against Cassidy, Kane'll get embarassed.) Also, Remy Ma is SEXY, so this is what my opinion concludes...
You love Fleetwood Mac.....

Go and get the "dance" dvd.. out there
ITS GODDAMN PERFECT.

Words are normally pathetic in conveying emotion. Hence, the reason for art. To put something a certain way to make another say, "I understand!" Or, "I've felt that way!" To create a commonality, almost like an empahtic rapport; sharing what's inside

I used to be a big fan of Pantera back in the 90's. It is very sad. The guy blamed Darrell for Pantera's breaking up. There are some crazy people in this world! :(
