What is the ISTP personality type (The Detective)?

People with an ISTP personality type tend to be curious, pragmatic, and confident in their behavior. They are unpredictable and spontaneous, but are often quiet, preferring to think and process information internally.

ISTP Personality Traits

Detectives are generally more reserved and prefer being alone. They are self-sufficient, independent thinkers.

They are very observant and focus on the details of a situation, trusting facts and making decisions based on the here-and-now.

ISTP types favor logic and reason over emotional influences. They base their decisions on what makes sense.

They are also spontaneous and prefer keeping their options open. Detectives are often more adaptable and less aware of time.

In summary, ISTP personality types tend to...

ENFP - Not sure what it means.

Campaigner?
The Exterminator

They are the kind of extroverts that get into the field of exterminating whether it be bugs of all kinds, snake handler, rodents, termites etc.

Say. Have you ever consider getting into the pest control industry?

No! I hate pest! 🤣🤣🤣

For real tho. I think you should get into it. You'll get to meet and know lots of attractive men going to their house spraying for bugs. You'll be surprise by how many men call for professional pest control and sometimes female pest controller goes to their house. ENFP's are some good candidates for that career.

Those attractive men who rang for pest control probably were scared of bugs more or so.

Not attractive to me. 🤭

I do not know mine. I am getting bored while filling in.
INFP very borderline on the E though.

INFPs are sensitive, caring, and compassionate, and are deeply concerned with the personal growth of themselves and others. Individualistic and nonjudgmental, INFPs believe that each person must find their own path.

ENFP is an acronym that stands for Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. The ENFP personality type is one of the 16 different types identified by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). People with an ENFP personality are often described as enthusiastic, charismatic, charming, energetic, and independent.

Think it’s really INFP..

Pretty ironic and unbelievable I just now took the time to read all my op line by line word by word. I can relate to all of istp except for some of those hobbies like scuba diving and skydiving. I don't know what rappelling and aviation is. Ain't no damn way I can see myself taking to the skies.
INFP borderline ENFP
I can be any one of these at any given time

Those hobbies sound kind of INTP to me.
My ISTP friend is an 80 yr old man stuck in a 36 yr old body: smoke some ribs, rafting, shooting range, hunting, watch college football, golf, fishing, fixing up the house or his trans am. If thought dumping is a hobby, it is definitely one of his favorite past times.
He just thought dumps whatever crosses his mind to the few people he trusts and it doesn't matter if I don't give a shit about the topic or the thought is too dark or harsh. When people started clearing the shelves for covid he joked that he saved a bullet for me so we don't have to slowly starve to death.

Yeah I know a scorpio man in his 70s stuck in a young man's body. He pretty much does all those things you mention except he smoke blunts. I don't know if that's the same as smoking ribs tho. I'm getting up there in age myself and honestly I hate to say this but I like to think I'm stuck in a pre teen body. I still watch cartoons, play with stuffed animals it's like I'll never grow up. And even still look childish. But now if I let my hair expose and let it down its gray.

My bf has stuffed toys on his dresser and plant rubber duckies in my car as prank. He considers his cars, bikes, and instruments his toys too. I guess guys are just young at heart and like their toys.

Oh naw I'm not the prankster type. I don't like playing pranks on people because I don't like it being played with me. A prank can turn into a quick physical reaction from me if that gets played on me. I do enjoy joking around and make people laugh to get them out of a bad mood or whatever people going through. Like that's my way of spreading fun. Life's too short to mope. But yeah you'll find me in toy stores on occasion.

Okay none of this doesn't sound like an MBTI personality kind of subject. More like pretty boys personality.
INTP
INFP-T

Mine has changed over the years a few times. It seems the older I get the more introverted I become.

I was an ENFP a decade ago.
I have mostly tested as IINFJ and INTJ, and sometimes ENFJ and INFP. I was confirmed an introverted intuitive by a psychiatrist wiho was also a jungian analyst so Ni dom, HSP, autistic-like traits when younger, you name it. I actually checked a video of Jung describing an introverted intuitive patient and it mirrored strongly the reason as to why I arrived to a psychiatrist to begin with, the only thing I would put into doubt is that anyone in a psychotic or mystical state would apparently resemble a Ni dom? Obviously that's not my state of being 24/7. But I suppose I have always been very visual, is why I struggled with communication and had a delay speech and as a compensation I learned to read by myself very quickly, or read sheet music and play it for example so I seem to have an innate skill to decipher symbols and connect patterns.
INTJ-A I took two different tests one being short and the other being long and still got the same results I thought I was more of an ambivert but it turns out I’m an assertive introvert lol
INFJ-A
I think if there was an MBTI for psychopaths and hannibal lecter, it would be INFJ
I'm surprise this year old thread hasn't been archived yet. I'm not even ISTP. That personality type lean more towards extroversion I would say.
INTJ - Architect (whatever that means)
ENTJ

The Commander

ENTJs are strategic leaders, motivated to organize change. They are quick to see inefficiency and conceptualize new solutions, and enjoy developing long-range plans to accomplish their vision. They excel at logical reasoning and are usually articulate and quick-witted.
INFJ
ENTP, time for a new system to measure and calibrate ourselves against I think. This ones getting boring.
I took this test multiple times throughout the years and it keeps changing for me…of course not without a reason but I find it interesting to see the changes. When I fist took this test in 2015 , I was an ENFP A with 60% Extraversion , a couple of years later it was ENFJ A- still an extravert, and from 2018 till 2021 I was an INTJ-A! Now since 2022 ( I just took the test again😁) , I’m an ISFJ - A -71% Introverted

Hmm that's weird. Maybe its the tests that you are taking. Letters usually flip, but not that much.

Not really Goodbunny! I first took this test because there was some similar thread on DXC when I first joined! Since then I have been taking it on the same site(I took them twice in between for “academic” purposes) Generally I wouldn’t have remembered the results but I have them in my mail box😁And yea, about the results changing/flipping so many times, I really do agree with most of what they have to say each time…atleast with the general description and extraverted and introverted parts. That’s how it really has been for me.
INF(T)J

Mostly tested for either one of these two types.
ENTJ- the commander.
these things might change depending on your mood 😁😁

but rn mine is INTJ: The Architect

"Architects question everything. Many personality types trust the status quo, relying on conventional wisdom and other people’s expertise to guide their lives. But ever-skeptical Architects prefer to make their own discoveries. In their quest to find better ways of doing things, they aren’t afraid to break the rules or risk disapproval – in fact, they rather enjoy it."

this true coz I'm very curious about a lot of things and have been told numerous times that i always have a very 'different' way of seeing things 🙃🙃
i recently got into this stuff when a friend sent me the link for the official test.

this official site is so much more raw and detailed :

https://www.16personalities.com/

tells you the good, bad, and the UGLY lol

i’m an ENTP male and

constantly around :

ENTJ male 1 (spouse)

ENTJ male 2 (best friend)

after reading about the dark and ugly side of ENTJ males on quora and numerous mbti sites, i’m actually surprised i haven’t yet somehow died a “mysterious death” being surrounded by these mob boss mentality, “take no prisoners” dudes 😂 lol especially after i’ve pissed them off quite a few times before (unintentionally!)😂

i’m half-kidding about the mob boss thing but they’re actually not that bad at all lol

leadership skill unmatched and super reliable. a little bossy but 9 times out of 10, they know wtf they’re doing so it’s not so much of an issue at the end of the day lol

ENTJ women are probably way more chill lol

my stoic, hard-ass father is an INTJ

basically the introverted version of the above ENTJ.

i think with ENTPs and ENTJs (especially ENTJs lol) you could drop us off in the middle of some rainforest or jungle and we would somehow find a way to survive and shit 😂 lol
i wonder if i know any introverts. i’m gonna check.
INTJ
Squarely INTJ-A. And to add some spice, enneagram 2 personality with 3 wing.
It's funny how my personality tests change from the scientist to the mediator. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This was my last and final answer. I had to dig thru the interwebs and read what it means to be an ISFP and much to my surprise it all fit me like a hand in glove. Like they was literally talking about me and like they personally know me. It scared me more than the rest did. It's just that accurate.
there’s this guy on YouTube who makes videos poking fun at the stereotypes of the 16 personalities lol

16 personalities interviewing someone for a job (a hot mess 😅)

16 personality types getting bullied and their clap backs 👏😅

lol @ ENTJ starting a more humiliating counter-rumor about the bully to get even 😂

this is exactly the kinda petty shit they would do 😂 my best friend said before, “if somebody hits me once, i gotta hit them at least three times to make it even. once ain’t enough.” 😂 he’s a virgo sun/aries moon 😂

lol@ INFJ spacing out and not even hearing what the bully was saying 😂

16 personalities as YouTubers apologizing 😂

lol@ ISTJ’s word salad apology and INFJ trying to sound philosophical yet both basically saying “look, it ain’t my fault.” 😂
I’ve been into the MBTI for years now. I always get the ISFP, except twice, but I think those were mistakes. So yeah, ISFP. ISFP-T to be exact. Doomed to walk this earth as the most sensitive personality type.

It’s interesting because I can be super logical, analytical, black and white.

My opposite is the ENTJ. The Hitlers and Stalins of the world.
I've tooked this crazy fanatic test numerous times since the start and ending of this thread and I keep coming up with all sorts of different personalities. I give up. I don't know what I am.

I keep getting ESTP after taking the test 5 times.

I like this test mostly cause I keep getting the same type and case it gives me some sort of personal feedback I usually can't trust from others.

I wouldn't have seen myself as estp but now I'm starting to believe I have at least some of those traits.

being sensitive is actually a gift! it probably means you can easily pick up on what other people are feeling and empathize with them. that’s a skill that not everyone has lol you’re also probably more in tune with your inner self than a lotta people and observant? all good traits i think.

ENTJ is pretty easy to be with cuz everything they’re thinking is written on their face lol 😂 and they vocalize pretty much everything so it’s easy to understand what they want from you at any given time. very competent people.
