Thanks. She's an ornery brat, so I'm hoping she can hang in there for a long while. Her numbers dropped significantly after her treatment, so it's a little promising. The rest is on her and how well she eats. I have to give her fluids twice a week and she's currently on antibiotics.
It's my Saturn return, too. So of course, THIS has to be thrown at me. Ugh. My birthday is actually in about 3 weeks so I hope all is well then and well beyond.
Pets ARE family. Especially this one. When you've had a pet this long, it's difficult not to get hit hard by the news. I fricken bawled my eyes out after I dropped her off for her treatment. I was reading up on info about what to expect when it becomes end stage and I started crying again. My poor bub.
However, prior to this, it was promising that her eyes were still bright and she's pretty much been herself. The only telltale was weight, lack of cleaning herself, and she smelling funky (kidneys).
At best, I have 2 years, from what the vet said. However, there have been stories of much longer, so we'll see.
She gets a follow up in a week, so I'll be curious to see what her numbers are then.
To top it off, the poor thing had a ruptured anal gland. She's got two staples in her butt, haha. Poor baby.

Sorry to hear that Amey ♥
I know there is nothing anyone can say to make it better.
Losing a pet is worse than losing a close friend sometimes... they are more than family.
The way she has enriched your life won't ever leave you.
Hmmm...
It might sound cruel..
But ending her life will be mercy...
Her suffering is of paramount importance then ur feelings...
Show love by doing an act of mercy...
Don't cling....that's selfishness.
Oh, and u experience this ?
With blood transfusion ?
Hmmm....
Muahahahaha .....
U must really hv a physic connection with cats 2 as u can feel their pain huh....
If u feel ur delusions r right...
Phulease do so......
But those r actually just ur feelings...
The fact remains....
The cat has no say...
Not even 1 bit....

The thing is she isn't suffering right now, so it's ignorant to assume as much. What dipshit immediately goes for euthanization just because there has been a not so great diagnosis?
Oh, trolls be trollin. That said, I'm not bothering acknowledging this retard at this point. I dunno why anyone else continues to do so either.
Regardless, my cat's still been her usual bright eyed, ornery self. Just keeping a close eye on her.
U announce...
U r suffering emotionally..super long post.
But ur cat is not suffering despite problems to the kidney..super short post.
U must be taking too much drugs...
I strongly suggest u go for treatments 2 cure ur obvious delusions..
Poor cat...
2 hv a druggie as a master...

Haha, stfu you freaking nutter. I know my cat better than you do. I've had animals my entire life and am well aware of how they function. She's far from suffering at the moment. Bounding around the house and acting like she's 7 again is far from hiding pain. If anything some of her behavior before is what alerted me something was wrong/she was due to see the vet, which is why I took her in to begin with. I knew something was up, just didn't know what.
So my taking my cat into the vet when I knew something was wrong was selfish how?
Yeah, you have no idea what the hell you're going on about. Go be a dickhead elsewhere. I'm sure PETA would be glad to have you. They love to prematurely put pets down like you seem to favor. You'd fit right in!
Thanks Tamara. She's been doing great. I'm so fricken happy for her. She's her old self again.

Has anyone in here who is saying that the cat isn't suffering and for people to shut up who is telling her to put the cat down .... ever been constipated?
If you have, then you realize what it feels like for your body not to dispel it's toxins ... it's fucking painful as fuck.
Just because the cat is not able to talk to tell you it hurts, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.
The humane thing to do is to put the cat down ... before it slips into a coma.
Quality of life has stopped. From this point forward, it lives in despair.
How fucking cruel of you .. you obviously can't get past your own feelings long enough to do the right thing ... why is that not surprising?

Rocky's cat has been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), not End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). There is a HUGE difference. Chronic means that CKD is an ongoing disease and in many cases, it can be managed. CKD is terminal, and will eventually move into ESRD. ESRD means that the cat's kidneys are at the point of failure and there is no longer anything that can be done.
Her cat is back to eating, acting playful and enjoying her life. If she were in pain and suffering, this would not be the case.
