do they? even if they broke up with you or if it was a mutual decision to take space? How long do they take to get their act together?

Formulaically?
Man's age / 45 x 365 + 3.14 = # of days until act together

If you're the one wanting a second chance ... then shouldn't be that you have an act to get together?

I've been dating a Pisces guy for 9 months now. Things have been pretty good - a few rocky patches here and there. A few times he pushed me away saying he doesn't know how to do this "love stuff" and I deserve better and within a day he came back.
We've been discussing moving in-together and I got cold feet because I got burnt bad from a previous relationship. But then I changed my mind and agreed. Then he said I don't appear enthusiastic about the move and asked me not to move. I asked for space and I took a few days to figure out what I wanted. Then he asked for space and I got upset because he made it about me. I didn't give him space. I drove to see him and he didn't want to see me and after I left, he asked me to come back. We made up. 2 weeks later he broke up with me saying he loves me but doesn't know if he's "in love" with me and that he's messed up and confused in his mind. We fought. Stopped talking. Then he texted me saying i'm the most amazing and kindest girl he's ever met and I deserve better and he's in such a confused state atm.
I told him how I felt, that I still loved him and because I love him, i'll give him space to think and that I haven't given up on us. He replied saying "thank you. Space is what i need".
So i'm giving him space- no contact for a few weeks is what I considered and then reapproaching him.
Why do Pisces men behave like this?
Do they miss their partners during "breaks"?
How can I get him back once he's cooled down?

Are you so lazy that you copy and paste a response from a different thread?
Pisces don't take breaks. That's the only thing you need to realize. Surely, you won't though because you appear pretty dense.
There's no doubt in my mind that you will continue to desperately search for an expected answer.

Pisces men are bad news for women who want stability. If things started off this way in your first year together, they will only get worse down the line. My Pisces was so confusing that I just gave up on him even though I loved him. I am now with an Aries man and have no regrets.
There's more involved than a sun sign. If there angeles are fixed . or fixed moon. It fixed Venus..than no. They don't come back .they'll tell you to get lost.
