ever met a fish that wasn't so fish-esque?

Have any of you fellow fishes met a pisces female that wasn't very pisces like? I'm a pisces female myself and I feel I have every quality a pisces woman is said to have, and every pisces female I've met is the same..except for one. My friend I've known 6 years is a pisces born march 6th and she is so anti pisces is not even funny. Example, if you want to insult her tell her she's nice and sweet lol. She's a self proclaimed bitch and is not very big on affection. If you try to hug her she will literally push you away. She cringes at the slightest display of emotion. One time I heard her say "tears? What's that?" Lol. Situations that call for compassion and empathy (which us pisces are great at) makes her feel awkward and runs from it. Don't get me wrong, she's a great person. I wouldn't be friends with her if she weren't, but she just doesn't have any typical pisces characteristics. I know your sun sign isn't the be all tell all of a person but I would think she would have a tad bit of pisces, you know? So what do you think?

I feel this way about myself sometimes. I can't stand emotional people. It makes me laugh sometimes. I just feel like they need to suck it up. I am not emotional at all but I can be kinda sensitive. Only when I care though. And I have tougher skin than you're average Pisces/water sign. People can't hurt my feelings easily and I'll definitely bite back and speak my mind with no hesitation.

I think too many people confuse sensitive with emotional. Pisces are sensitive but not necessarily emotional, and actually too much sensitivity can create very cold people.

You as a Pisces may know, there are a lot of people who come to us to spill it all on us, coz they know we will listen patiently or go to lala land to avoid listening, lol
But sometimes it is just too much, and I can't keep being the soft one taking it all in. I tire of it and turn into a form of ice. It's the only way to guard myself from exhaustion.



So why not just tell them to fuck off?
I don't like to listen to other people's lives and I generally tell em bitches to kindly swerve .
"Turning into ice" is the worst tactic ever, turns you into a comfy doormat. I know we pisces tend to do that, but don't.

my twin cousins were born on the 5th, and now that you mention this, they are pretty strong sweet ladies. But sweet at the same time. I am much more detached, and secretive.

I think water is an interesting element, as it is easily effected by its surroundings, like stale water kept in a container too long, or frozen ice. What I note here is the fact that when ever I see a cold not "so emotional" Pisces I know its because they often have either strong mechanisms in place to "deal" with their emotions. Some of these mechanisms are good, some not so good like addiction.
Either way I think simply put its the upstream fish path vs the downstream fish path. I used to be incredibly stoic and cold, it was so evident that people expected it from me, close friends were surprised to even see me smile. But it definitely wasn't because I wasn't sensitive, if anything it was because I was incredibly sensitive I saw it as a vulnerability deserving to be hid. When ever I meet a cold Fish I see similar elements from my old mindset in there actions. The downplaying of emotions, to hide a very sensitive interior.
Ice is solid and cold usually to push away anyone who might threaten it, but its also fragile. The more "stoic" towards their emotions I see a Pisces, the more I know they are the type of person who hasn't really figured out how to deal with them, making them emotionally volatile when put in really dire situations.

damn, jb is a second decan pisces?? i never would have thought.if he hasnt already, he might end up hating himself at some point because of how society sees him versus who he wants to be in society. famous people are people too, but its unfortunate they're seen almost literally in a different "caste" than others.

at least with me I want to be a certain way -- easygoing and friendly -- but everyone ive ever met thought that was near unapproachable on first meeting. Makes it difficult to understand why i cant just 'fit in' sometimes!!

Lol it's true the second decans I know irl always act like they're so hard and cold, to me it's funny though. Had a couple of em try to intimidate me with bullying tactics/aggressiveness but you can't intimidate an Aries stellium. It just fuels my fiyah babyBig Grin
But I disagree that the girl the OP is talking about has a lot if Aries in her chart. Aqua is more likely. I'm not unemotional or mean like that, quite the opposite.

It's interesting that you mention other people's influence, because it is also at the core of the question.
Because other people are the ones putting pressure on oneself to conform to socially accepted and recognizable emotional reactions.
After passing a while trying to control one's emotivity, one should realize that most emotions are either archaic biological strategies or forms of social communication, and there you'll have to choose to either go back to humanity and let yourself become subject to an image imponed on yourself or stop being controlled by the emotions but become less human in the process.
This is a fundamental pisces choice. Pisces always have to concile their desire for human interactions and their self-control, when it's not harmonious it becomes a downward spiral -> doormat pisces.
Having a strong but social facade is essential.

My sister is the same way, March 2nd.
She was such a soft gentle child growing up.
But due to us growing up in a harsh environment we had to toughen up.
Unfortunately, the fish has no shell to hide in so you guys have to compensate somehow by creating a tough exterior of coolness and self containment.

I know many Pisces; love them, but this is interesting: not ONE I know is imaginative, artsy, or dreamy! They have all the other typical Piscean qualities (compassion, empathy, intuition, etc.) but not the dreamer-artistic-imagination part!! The ones I know are not escapist, either...they're almost more Virgo-like insofar as all of them are hard-working, grounded in reality, and they plan and organize everything. They're tough, too! A couple of them have even gone as far as to say that they don't really understand the deal with imagination.

I knew one that was not like the other typical Pisces I've known. He was very rich and successful, he cheated on his wife, he was rude and condescending. The other Pisces I've known we're not like him.

i agree on this one.. this is how my good friend actually is.. were both pisces female but she's never sweet, never compassionate, doesnt even have a sense of humor, tends to be negative most of the time lol, she's nice though and the only pisces trait i can see in her that we share in common was her being so secretive and love of music and generosity other than that nothing more.. she likes to gossip and will dig in toooo deep until she pisses someone off and yes i guess half the reason why she's like that is bec back in h.s she was mistreated by her father to the point of she's been humiliated in public.. hmmm were all there to witness, thats sad... Sad
