Way to make yourself seem educated and intelligent. State an opinion as a fact, and then say someone else is stupid for having a different opinion. Idiot.
what's idiotic is to make a statement that someone was popular because of their looks. Nirvana started the Grunge era. They're trend makers. And you sound really educated and intelligent by calling me an idiot, twerp.
what are you doing on dxp this late anyways? Shouldn't you be getting ready for junior high tomorrow?click to expand

Ironically kurt cobain probably hated people like that. Judgmental and overly opinionated. *cough* CC and P-angel.
you're comparing me to P-ANGEL? LMAO wow, that's a huge compliment dude. Thanks.click to expand

I'm not even saying thats why kurt cobain became famous. I'm saying that you are not being objective, you are being defensive and bitchy. Typical of you though, you always have something up your ass. Probably just hate your life lol. Stay mad girly.
hi i've never interacted with you, but you seem to have many judgments and you're rude.
Anyways i never responded to you. i responded to the op. So shut your flapping tongue, before I neuter it.click to expand

I read somewhere that his parent's early divorce contributed to a lot of anguish in Nirvana's music. After they split, he never felt loved and secure again. It influenced his life because he was a sickly child (bronchitis and asthma) and he became antisocial and withdrawn. He was even homeless for a while, but most of his life was spent with relatives who didn't really want him.
In high school he was beaten by the jocks and they wrote words like "queer" on his pick up truck. So he and his friend, Kris Novoselic, turned to British nihilistic post-punk bands to fill their emotional voids. Kurt actually attempted suicide few times until he finally succeeded. It was through several hard attempts that Nirvana rose to fame, which unfortunately was short-lived. However, his legacy still remains to this day...he certainly was idol of my teenage years and I have great memories and respect for him. It is sad that he never was a happy, whole man
R.I.P Curt

See Tornado?
This is where you belong, this is where you are meant to be.
Otherwise, you'd be denying your own nature, and that's not good. Not wise at all.

.... Kurt was frustrated because he was at the top of the music industry yet he didn't even own his own ego. Typical Pisces.

^^^ I think it is because Hole's music has that kick of life in it that is just absent from Nirvana. In my honest opinion, Nirvana is not that musical. I would say that Hole, Modest Mouse, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Elliott Smith were all more talented artists that came out of a similar environment in the 90's.

Nirvana made power chords and noise.
Given the fact Kurt Cobain(and Nirvana)were admittedly very much inspired by punk rock, those influences were evident in the music.
If anything, Nirvana's success was largely a matter of being in the right place(Seattle)at the right time(early '90s)--along with having the right image & connections locked down. Courtney Love & Dave Grohl were also able to capitalize on Nirvana's fame & further build their respective careers.
On that note, I'll gladly give credit where due: in terms of creative lyrical poetry, Kurt's talent was one-of-a-kind. I've always said that if Nirvana hadn't broken into the mainstream, they'd be credited as having been one of the best underground music acts of the nineties.
Since that clearly wasn't the outcome, somewhat of an "overrated" reputation is attached to Nirvana's legacy.click to expand

You mention Kurt's lyrical genius. That is an interesting point because on the Bleach album the lyrics are pretty non sensical, but "Heart Shaped Box, on the other hand, has fantastic lyrics.

I'm surprised you even know about Insecticide lol Its just that Insecticide is a pretty unknown album and I always thought you were more of a preppy girl for some reason.
