I'm having promblems fiquireing out what kind of job I want to do. Of course not for my entire life just much. I know what I can fall back on Music, writing, and acting all I can do well But I just don't have that passion for such things all the time. My father was forced into his work so he's letting me make mistakies luckyly I my sister doesn't want me to make to many and get a slap in the face. I was looking for advice I like the arts but I'm not the best painter or scupture but nearly all of them i knnow and can do. I'm good in mangement situations and have plenty of great ideas but I sometimes lack the want or feel the time to work on my ideas. Please fellow Piscieans help me with the world renown instinct. Thanks.
you sound like everyone
My first question is, how old are you? I'm not asking to be nosy, but it does matter. If you're very young then you have plenty of time to make a decision about the direction you take in life. If you're not very young, then I would suggest working your way up to management someplace while doing the creative artsy stuff on the side. Sell some of it and make some extra money. Save money doing the practical job. When you have enough money, you have more freedom, it's true (as sucky as that reality is). So what I'm saying is, you don't have to give up on who you are or what satisfies your soul (the artsy stuff)--but you do have to make money to survive in the world. Just strike a balance between the two, because (in my opinion) you can't be satisfied with entirely one or the other.
What to be when one grows up? Im still working on this. If its fine arts and your good your dead before your famous. If its acting you work 15 years to be discovered. If you write copywrite it for god sake. good luck but I like the James the 13th
By the by I have been a soldier, Factory worker, salesman, labor, and lorry driver all in 15 years. so do not give up.
Yes, I am stil young in High shcool. But I feel that maybe physcolgly not becuase my mother's insaine at least not legaly but nearly everyone in my county knows such. It's odd I don't belive I could handle taking care as being in the child care system but phycolghy i was piscies would have few steps ahead by having good instinct and insghit thought just came.
Jamesy, dont bother trying to figure out what you will be doing for a carreer... You're far too young. You'll wind up changing your mind over a thousand times between now and then... It's forever a question without an answer, forever a time with out the light of day... The future sucks and is sour as lemon with twice the ambiguity.
But bartending is fun.
I need to at least have something that I can do and well. But ur right i will change my mind. But I feel their is at least one job in the world one can get paid for and do. But what is the true question . . . . . . .
make paintings and sell them online or to friends and family. Just a thought.
I mean, that's assuming that your question is "what can I do that is creative and also pays something".
I'm going to college to get a double major in economics and psychology with a minor in comp sci... I intend to go from their to grad school, get my masters, and start in on a business... Hopefully banking, because they pay the most... I want to get either a management posission in a company, or a research posission, because those are what pays the most. It would also be great if I could get my company to pay for my grad school. My plan is to make 3 mil by the time I'm thirty, and it's about the only way I'll be able to pay back my college loans as it stands now. That's what I plan on doing, but that's just a general idea, I have no idea whether you want to work in big business or not. I really hope that by the time I graduate from college, the economy will be in better shape.
Just a thought: you can find creative parts in most business jobs, depending on what your specific feild is... What you need to think of is what specific kind of creativity really makes you tick. Are you an artist? Are you a writer? Are you good at math? Science? All these things have creative aspects to them, but what feild do you really feel passionate about?
You see that's my prombelm I jsut haven't got a clue of any arts that I find passionte. I like all diffenert arts. I'm think mayebe know i clould get a double major in Physchology and Bussiness and a minor in The arts and 4sub-minors if such things are possible acting, writing, vocal, and fashion. But I stil haven't the fogest of my true creative passion. I'm good in scince, history and nearly either other class 'cept math yet I can sing well by ear and can come up with a song words and music by a certian emioton. And this how I rember them by that emtion I felt at that moment. Bad though 'cause unless I rember that exact emtion the song does me no good immeditaly until then. Thanks though.
James, I do know what you are going through. I really hadn't the foggiest idea of what I was going to do either until my senior year in high school. I have to say, don't stress about it. I love all sorts of different topics as well, and unfortunatly, I also realize that I will have to sacrifice some of my interests to spend a more focused time on others, but such is life. I have to say, sometimes you can't see what's coming down the road for you until it's right on top if you. You just kind of fall into what's ment for you. It's ok to be unsure right now, infact, you really should be unsure. You should spend this time now exploring and trying out different possabilities, instead of trying to limit yourself down to one feild. If you choose something now, and follow it strictly, you may realize in a couple of years when it's too late that you really hate what it was you chose. Don't trap yourself by limiting your options now.
Thanks
I will.
guess what know i'm thinking of being an industurial manger or someting like that which get paid now 6 digits to be like a manger but do it with pyscholgy flair.
