So is said by someone in a Newsweek. This was sad for me. I love potery porobaly like my other Piscians do. I feel that's he's right is far as many and the mass of adults think. Know potery has no meaning to them for it's not thorown at them anymore. Are socitey doesn't rember such. Just those students who are taught it by teachers a week one week to learn to love. Few every could in a week. This is truly sad for thoses who wrote are more then it's supposed adimars. I feel that I as a poet maybe each poet will strive a little more to change to get themsleves out therir. To get their name know. To make are socitey rember such bueaty created out of 26 letters to let them view one moment of glory, pain, love, and bueaty. Poets do that. Writing and all of that such is reivied by J.K. Rowling. And God praise for without it writing would have almost died now it's a phoniez state. A famous writer said writers forgot to write to inform to proke thought to stir instead its enjoyment what I want to say and show. Doesn't move socitey like it can. Potery is nearly dead as the flame is blown almost out or is fading by time. Will we stop the dying flame? I belive we should for we can.
Lol, Jamesy, I thought you were talking about pottery for a while, and I didn't understand why pottery was dead!!!
Oh, No!!! Poetry isn't dead!!! It exists in the heart of all things!!! It's is the rhythm of life!!! It's saddly true people don't appreciate it as they should, but let me tell you, it is far from dead. There's quite a few crazy literary associations out there devoted to the preservation of it. You should do some research and maybe join into one of those literary circles if it interests you that much.
well it does. very much so. But u know I just find it sadly right and wrong true yet false. This is very bad. But ur right.
no one comments?
poetry isn't dead... there are as many poets now as before and they are just as good!... it just happens that there are more non-poets who don't appreciate poetry. Writers haven't forgotten to write to inform and poke holes in stereotypes and preconceived notions of things... read the sci-fi book Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury-fifty years old and still thought prooking about the nature of writing and books. Really you should read it-to make you curious I tell you that farenheit 451 is the temperature at which books burn. READ IT! then maybe you'll understand that there are ALWAYS people out there preserving our literary traditions and creating new ones and they are as important today as before. READ IT!
I have post. I have but it's sad i guess due to telivsion and computer and other things people aren't that insterseted in words as they used to be. But i do know where u are coming from all i want is that the world to truly like and enjoy and cherish books and potery as it did. I do beilvie is sill can I just haven't fiquried out how. Without really good authors of any sort and people with such perspective I don't see it just yet.
Oh come on now, there are lots of really good authers around. You just have to be a really frequent reader to find them. A lot of people don't apreciate the good literature, but you know, that's not just a trait of today, it was always that way. I like to think of it as if you're one of those unique literary folk who can really see the beauty of the written language, you really belong to a special elite group. And as part of that group it is partly your responcibility to make sure that the literary tradition never dies. You might want to think about that if you really truly are a part of that group...
Maybe you should right a book Winking. Or publish a book of poetry... Or subscribe to one of those writing jounels, and send in some of your righting... Send in your best potery... After you edit of course Tongue. You know you should too, because the key is to get your name out there, once it is, then you'll have people contacting you over your writing. The literary world is actively looking for fresh blood, and it's keen to young talent.
Morgan our minds are a bit alike I to was wondering why pottery was dead. I almost put my potters wheel up for sale.
I do want to write. But what extcaly first i want to write something dynamic then something that I'll show another side of me. I feel that if i could i won't be looked as one way writer. great an all but just produces more barriers.
Perhaps just perhaps you might take a few english classes first.
barriers are in the mind
barrieres are in the mind how true
uh, ywah wre required 4 clases of english but i'll do more in colloge.
when i go. 2 yrs or more from now.
13 in england when you go to university all test are writen. No guessing you must be able to wright to get by here. I know when Im on line that my typing is not good but you can not get away with that at university.
I wish all in class essays were typed on word processors, I'd be able to write so much more in such less time. But normally most of the essays at college are take home anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter that much.
I guess the profesors got sick of trying to read bad hand writing. I pity my teachers, I have the worst chicken scratch in the world... However, I do write very very very good essays... I've won awards for my essays they're that good. Unfortunately, they didn't give me money Sad, only books. Stupid books, who needs them, anyway?
I think I'll go smash some pottery now, I have eight essays to write tomorrow during six hours of exams. Sad Sad Sad
Here you must do them in class and they must be readable not a word im sure. i should have went with legible.
yeah luckly i'm not going to england but ur right. my writitng isn't leagible. Nor is my spelling good. Here we don't even have to write we use script. yeah it's sad. . . .
what is script?
yeah, what is script? God I feel old now! I've never heard of such a thing and I'm only three years out of high school...
script as in cursive writing? I think it still counts as having to write. And correction: it was eight hours of exams, and not one essay legible. I feel proud of myself. Now to repeate the process tomorrow.
Anyway, I blame bad hand writing on the annoying slants of the desks which causes major aches in one's hand and wrist.
I always hated those damn desks in school. Not all of ours were slanted though, a lot of them had that half-countertop thing going on, which was equally annoying because it gave you about three inches of actual workspace. I think that schools should have big tables for each person. I for one know that I need a lot of room to spread out my papers and books and such in order to really be productive.
But screw that since taxpayers never want to cough it up where it would count.
oh my goodness. it's is cursive is scirpt.
and i know we have bad desks on the schools account for being so cheap. but what is worst is the fact it's not the taxes payers fault if the people who make such deiscions have no idea what is good for stuednets. Just really don't wnat to get into now.
well, in my area it's more of a question of what the taxpayers vote for...more money given for textbooks or more money given for high school football? And it is the responsibility of taxpayers to question their local and state governments and find out where their money is going. Because all it takes is a little digging to find out that rather than your tax money going to educational resources for schools, it's going to the government officials so they can have "free" lunches and dinners and fancy cars and butter.
I have never heard of cursive being called script we live we learn.
Where I live all the tax payers do is vote on a buget, and then some bureaucrat decides how the funds should be allocated. Why is it that the bureaucrocy is always full of idiots?
not all of them. but i understand where u coming from. i mean god. the city scrwed over the co. here long ago. and still is. anyway.....
here if you get a job with the governiment you or the idiot who found his village.
sounds way to filmiar i guess an oacen and a deep rotted hate for englanders of the early settlers didn't change that . Damn. Snap that's the way it goes.....
A deep rotted hate for englanders? the people who fought the war on both sides were englanders. It was a war between two differnt groups of britons. I have a friend who hates all blacks, his father is black, so I ask him do you hate yourself he said yes. I ask how can you hate a race of people because of one man he could not answer. his father abandon him and his mother and moved back to barbados.
Yeah, weren't we Americans actually British until we freaked out and threw the tea in the ocean or something? I think we were mainly against that King dude with all the damn taxes, not the actual English. Most of us Americans are quite enamored with you. I know I am. If we were going to be honest about it, we feel you are our big brother in a way. Most of us (certainly not all, but many) came from you over there. Why more Americans do not consider Britain their motherland I don't know. Personally I am completely fascinated by all things British. Ask anyone who knows me. Your history, everything. Quite interesting.
I speak for the pub people of britain. we consider our selfs, canada, america, australia, new zealand and a lot of isle a people. we do not consider ourself part of europe. We are an isle we stand apart from europe. When I was in the states people would say to me talk slower I can not understand you your accent. I would tell them we spoke the language first you have the accent.God bless phoenix.
P.S. long live the queen. Now Im off the soapbox
Dam long live the queen
Thanks for the God bless phoenix. smile
And yes...long live the queen...
So, what powers does the royal family have? What exactly can they do to you? Do they sit on actual thrones? Do they have gold and jewels in their castles?
i mean i don't dislike englanars i have a sister in law in englad. but what i think is funny is the freedom thing far as arts and other things that England can view. i think it's great the accent. the monutians here have the old accent of Old Enghilsh due to few people. and even betteris the fact that an old song came out of ky. about a house in orleans i'll have to ask my english teacher. but yes what does the queen do and the family. Long live the Queen..... this is so wried.
Oh wait, let me guess what powers the queen is and you can tell me how much I remembered correctly from my comparitive government class.
The queen affectively is a figurehead. Technically she swears in the prime minister. I can't remember what else whe does, but I'm prittier sure I remember something about her signing papers or something. Pretty much her role is completely just symblistic.
I actually think that the country I understand best from my comp gov class is france. I don't know why, and it scares me.
I think I'm going to adopt and english accent. When I was young and first learning how to spell, I always used to spell things the british way. Then I would argue with my mother that there were two correct ways to spell the words, and I wanted to spell them this way because it looked prettier. I was an odd child.
um, morgan I did the same thing ("colour", "theatre", "centre"...etc)...that's so funny! My teacher, on a spelling test, and I normally always aced my spelling tests, marked one of my words as wrong because I spelled it the english way. What a cookiemonster. Anyway I think it's hilarious that we both said the same thing to our parents. lol.
lol, perhaps we were really supposed to be british.
that's really wried. or maybe u all are suppose to sart a revoultion in American seplling of words?.....
The queen is about as nesseary as a pimple on ones ass. they do nothing but suck up money. Our next king chuck as I call him is a pompus ass. Di is dead shame she was the only one worth a rats ass. most royalty or useless
