Sure you're Pisces?

I got into a discussion with a Pisces friend about astrology, she's born on Feb 21 and she isn't sure if she's a fish or an Aquarius "due to this new astrology thing" as she put it. So I did a Google job and it seems it's old news, but still...now I have this fixation about her possibly being Aquarius and I can't get it out of my head! My question to you is, have you noticed if there are any true claims to this? I mean from personal experience with your friends. Could they be this "other sign"?

As far as my Pisces friend is concerned I think she very well could be an Aquarius. I always thought that some of her un-pisces-like personality traits could be traced to her Capricorn asc, but having known one or two Aqua chicks in my life I think the shoe fits. But then again, it could be the Pisces/Taurus/Cap combination that seems a little Aquaran. I believe she has Mercury in Aquarius too. So which astrological system is true according to you and why?

I hear ya, but there isn't a "new version" of astrology, both versions are old. Apparently, the Babylonians thought 13 was an unlucky number so they changed it to 12 astrology signs...and here we are. It's sounds pretty solid no matter how much we want it not to be true.

And the reason to why you may feel all your friends are acting exactly like they are suppose to according to traditional Western astrology might be because that's what you expect of them. I thought the Pisces girl was very Pisces-like too until I looked outside of the box. Which basically means she could be Pisces, or Aquarius...or it could all mean that astrology is bogus and we could be any sign we want if we look hard enough. Scary shit, huh. So unless someone comes with solid info about why this is not true, I've no idea what to believe in anymore.

I remain Leo either way. I have a strategically placed birthdate, haha.

There really is no new astrology for us, as people don't just morph into someone new. Last time i checked i was still me. This actually could've been news at any decade, any time, with authors who basically want to get on the band-wagon & sell books to the uninformed. Real astrologers can't be fooled though, and i feel sorry for those who are taken up by it.

Some further important points:

1. Astrology and astronomy are two distinctly different subjects.

2. This —new planet?? finding does NOT apply to Western astrology. The Tropical zodiac, the system used by most Western astrologers, is based on signs of the zodiac, not the constellations.

3. Astrological symbolism relates to the planets, not the stars.

4. The SEASONS are the reference points, NOT the constellations. Planetary positions are measured in celestial longitude from 0?? Aries, which is the point of the Vernal Equinox.

5. The four cardinal points are divided equally into the 12 signs of the Tropical zodiac, a division of the 360-degree wheel of the year into 12 equal slices of 30 degrees. There are no —extra?? signs!

6. The positions of the planets are measured by the sign??s they are in.

You're (whole) chart is you, not just your sun-sign. Feb. 21 is (definately) early Pisces and would be within 1-3 degrees of pisces, depending on tob. If you believe in cusps, however, and some "residual energy" existing between sign changes, that's a different story, and likely has some validity. As well, and as others have mentioned, many pisceans have planets in aquarius (myself included) due to mercury & venus, alone being so close to the sun. Same as with many aquarians can have piscean traits for those very same reasons. And on and on, of course through all 12 signs..

Your friend is actually on the cusp. She will have some aquarius traits laced throughout her. She's an pisces/aquarius cusp. The so called "new" zodiac sign is bulls#@t. If we followed it, that would mean that Scorpio would only have 6 days run. It's been said that if this new zodiac is real that it will not affect the Western Hemisphere nor those born before 2009.

She's born on the 21th February, how can she be cusp if Aquarius ends the 19th? I thought cusps were born on the day one sign ends and the other takes over... this is a two days difference.

One was my best friend for years.

They both have a lot of very Aquarian traits. They're cuspers after all. 🙂

The Aqua/Pisces cusp is February 16 to February 22 (some websites say through February 23).

Thank you. If you were born five days before or five days after the change from one sun sign to another, then you are a cusp.

It is total BS.
I am definatly not an Aquarius.
I even heard that it wentin the other direction and that I'd be an Aries... Nnnnno...
I am a Pisces.
All of the Aries I have met are definatly Aries and all of the Aquarians are Aquarians.
