Anyone ever had their Tarot Cards read-if so how was the outcome. I had it done once maybe 10 years ago and it ended up being the worse year of my life. There is a place near where I work and I was thinking about getting it done again. If anyone wants to share their thoughts or experiences I would really appreciate it. Thanks and Happy New Year!

Klover---
I actually started reading my own. Its pretty easy if you buy a deck and a beginner's book and practice with your own readings. I do it for friends occasionally, but I really don't like to because it gets pretty personal sometimes. The past somewhere my friends were putting "its not me its the tarot" in between my name because it is the usual disclaimer i give.
I will say I have never once had an inaccurate reading. Its always been dead on. Whether you want to hear the truth or not.
Thanks so much! Yeah, I think its acurate for better or worse.......

My dad's girlfriend does tarot, it actually really changed my life to be honest. It didnt tell me anything I really didnt know already, but things I needed to be told. It actually pushed me in the right direction for once. I am very pleased about my reading.

i have a small collection of tarot decks, 6 maybe - i like their beautiful art-work as much as anything. i just bought a new deck not that long ago. These ones are different, and are without the Major Arcana. I don't use them too often, respect them, and only ask what i need to. I do my own personal readings every now and then, and they are accurate for me. Like reading your own dreams, you have to think outside the box, searching all corners and sides, in an objective/subjective manner. i also have a set of rune stones that are just as amazingly accurate and helpful, and lots of fun too. =)

I had one 3 1/2 years ago. She said I would have a baby and it happened she said in 3 years and right on the dot.
A lot of things she said are starting to come into play now.

I wouldn't say coincidental cappy. You see she was the real deal. She even told me my daughter's father would be a Scorpio. I always attract them.

I don't really believe in tarot readings.
I think its really interesting and would read and learn all that, but not really get into it. I would think of it as some unrealistic thing like trying out spells from Harry Potter.
I nver had gotten a reading and I'm interested, but I won't because:
A)it cost money
B)My Mother did it once and I felt this strange feeling and I wasn't even in the room with her
C)It tells you when someone is doing black magic on you and you will try to get rid of it or make it turn on them
D)my religion doesn't allow it

Its not any form of magic. There is no such thing as true magic in my opinion. There is no casting involved, but there is meditation sometimes. When witches casts spells (tarot is not a spell), its more like a prayer that you use objects with. And you don't have to be a witch to do or appreciate tarot either.
Tarot really doesn't tell you anything you don't already know, but puts certain things in perspective that might help you out. Some people are scam artists and BSers, so I would watch out. A lot of time, good tarot readers will do it for free or a not so wallet breaking price. Sometimes it does tell you a bit more than what you are aware of, but it can only predict so far in the future (like a few months). That is because your life changes all the time based on your decisions. My father's girlfriend does tarot and so does her sister. She and her sister have predicted several things that actually happened and are quite accurate.
I understand why you don't want to do it though and Im not out to change your mind or argue about it. Just trying to give some more info. I feel the same way about Ouiji boards. God they creep me out. Tarot for some reason doesn't.

"Ouiji boards. God they creep me out."
That things way past creepy. I'll choose tarot over that thing any day.
The reading was very good, accurate and it highlighted a lot of things I felt but didnt know. It gave me clarity. I felt like a new person when I left and I definitely plan to go back.

Loveable Pisces, you are 100% correct.
When I read tarot it doesn't say anything the person being read doesn't already know. Its almost like a "self help" tool. It forces you to come to grips with the truth of a situation. Maybe a truth, you've been denying yourself due to false hope or denial. Its funny because the more you ask tarot the same question, the "louder" the reading gets......meaning the lower suits (or minor Arcana) will become higher (or Major Arcana). Its not "witchy" or spell like, just your own energy coming out before you. Now, the Ouji board I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole

LOL. See I knew those ouiji boards were of the devil! haha.
Yeah that is how my reading came out too, it basically clarified what I already knew and brought it to my attention. It really opened my eyes and changed the way I saw everything. I was pretty happy with mine. Im glad yours went great klover_fish!
I didnt ask any questions during my reading. I cut the deck and she began unfolding those cards like my life story. I only opened my mouth to confirm (in utter amazement) that she was totally dead on. It was great for me!

Me and my sister and cousins use to fuck with oujas when we were younger. We bought it twice in our lives and this other thing called psychic circle.
We experienced darkness.
Don't mess with it.
We were pretty young.

First of all........I got this reading way before I met him.
Don't you feel stupid. Dumb ass.

"pfft coward don't you want to know the sick truth hahaha *laughs*"
Its not being a coward its being cautious and I can live without knowing the truth. I will never touch that thing, never. I prefer to take Mystic's advice and leave it alone.

"has anyone ever had their aura read before? "
No but doesn't your aura change all the time?
it sure does....depending on how you are feeling....some people can see your aura as soon as u walk through the door
I have a picture of mine I took 4 years ago when I went to Sedona, Arizona at a shop.
It's hot.

My sister and two girlfriends had a really bad Ouji experience. Basically the board started "talking" about a very emotionally painful experience one of the girls had during a pregnancy, that ultimately did not come to term. Nobody in the room would have EVER played around with the information that was given. Needless to say, the "game" ended quickly.
As for auras, I have never really seen one, or had mine read. I have however noticed that some people seem brighter than others......that is going to make me sound like such a dip, but I swear I saw a lightness emanating from within someone once or twice.

Use Psychic Circle instead.
Um no. We had terrifying experiences with that also.
It told us it was the devil.
We ran out so quick. My cousin fell and landed on my back. I crawled the my way out with her skinny ass on my back.

"i know u have some juice to spill...im all ears..hehehe!. How are you and the scorp...am i invited to the wedding..hehe"
Good GOD, woman you don't need a damned board of any kind, because you're already psychic as hell! Mr. S asked me to marry him the day after x-mas and I said.....YES! Gonna be a long engagement, though, which shouldn't be a surprise if you've read any of my other posts around here on marriage. I think we owe it to ourselves to both be 150% sure.
What's been goin on with you?
Here's a link to the psychic circle:
http://www.amazon.com/Psychic-Circle-Amy-Zerner/dp/0671866451
As long as you do the protection ritual it gives you in the book before using it, you should be fine. You basically cast a circle around you for protection from dark entities. Some will still occasionally get in, but the few I've encountered are nothing like what I've experienced on a ouija. Signed Up:

OMG....you are ABSOLUTELY right about the 200% , Choc..lol But I'm already at 100% (which I used to think was impossible) so that's a good start, yeah?
And yeah, I was CRAZY surprised...because we were just hanging out eating breakfast and both in our PJs. I think he knew if he planned some big thing I would figure out what was up. Anyway, then I started bawling and sobbed out a "yeah".
Damn, x-mas in Florida is THE WAY to do it! Today we had a high of 23. WOWZA! What a heat wave!
I will most def. send you some "may Choco find THE ONE" vibes for this year! He's out there. The good ones hide behind all the bad ones, so just remember to always look behind the one who's coming on strong!

10????!!! CRIKEY! I hate winter so, so much.
He moved in with me in Nov. We're still adjusting...but you know what? He's done the impossible. He's gotten me addicted to a video game. I have always hated them because I suck at them, but I got him Rock Band 2 for x-mas. We both had extra time off over the holidays, and I can't even tell you how many hours we spent playing that thing! I mean, we beat the effing thing! LOL Our "band" got invited to play some Rolling Stones festival or something and we became "rock elite". This is all I needed...something else to suck time I don't have! ARGH!

so, im sorry im late on all these topics but i recently had my tarot read for the first time and was pleasantly surprised.
at first i thought i would ask about my ex pisces & my now taurus boy.. and where that whole situation is headed.. but then right before i had it done i decided to forget the man situation and ask about just me.
the woman gave me a general 3 card reading, past present and future.
for past, the knight of cups came up. a watery-emotional card.. she started speaking about the water signs, cancer.. scorpio.. i interupted excitedly and told her im a double pisces.. were off to a good start.
i found this explanation online for the knight of cups.. sounds like the pisces dilemma to me.
Romantic.....Overemotional
idealizes love..........lacks self-restraint
emphasizes feelings..........is often jealous
concentrates on the poetry of life..........tends to be gushy and melodramatic
remembers special occasions..........blows hot and cold in affections
expresses sentiments beautifully..........brings flowers, but forgets to put gas in the car
Imaginative..........Fanciful
can tap the fertile unconscious..........indulges in idle daydreams
looks beyond the obvious..........has big ideas that come to nothing
never takes the mundane path..........has an unrealistic approach
spins marvelous tales..........has an overactive imagination
is visionary..........can shade the truth
Sensitive..........Temperamental
is aware of moods and feelings..........is prone to mood swings
helps others open up..........can be petulant and sulky
responds deeply to life..........gels melancholy and depressed
understands the pains of others..........broods excessively
is tactful and diplomatic..........takes offense easily
Refined..........Over-refined
appreciates beauty in all forms..........leaves dirty work to others
seeks the finest..........can't face unpleasantness
creates a pleasing environment..........lacks robust good health
understands subtlety..........emphasizes style over substance
is suave and gracious..........gets overwhelmed by pressure
Introspective..........Introverted
values the inner life..........focuses inward to excess
tries to understand why..........avoids active participation
questions motivations..........is driven to self-examination
seeks self-improvement..........exaggerates personal failings
sees below the surface..........can't relax around others
the present card came up as the lovers.. im feeling like it definitely relates to my confusion between whats right and wrong in my daily life and my habits, and also the struggle i experience with relationships, either friendly or romantic.
a short explanation:
The most common (and understandably so) meaning of the Lovers card is romantic true-blue, passionate LOVE. It often is interpreted to represent new or rekindled happy, soul-mate quality loving relationships. But, at a deeper level, this card represents personal choices to be made in some sphere of the Querant's life. This choice is not an easy one, since there are usually many options to select from. The Lovers bid the decision-maker to relax, and tune in to their inner wisdom: the correct choice will soon make itself known.
lastly the hermit came up for my future. as each card has its good and bad.. theres the choice. which fishy to be?
In readings, the Hermit often suggests a need for time alone - a period of reflection when distractions are limited. In times of action and high energy, he stands for the still center that must be created for balance. He can also indicate that withdrawal or retreat is advised for the moment. In addition, the Hermit can represent seeking of all kinds, especially for deeper understanding or the truth of a situation. "Seek, and ye shall find," we have been told, and so the Hermit stands for guidance as well. We can receive help from wise teachers, and, in turn, help others as we progress.
none of this was surprising or unexpected but that was the amazing part about it.. it gave me this feeling that the something "out there" understands.
anyways.. im pretty hungover and usually im much better at writing than this, but my brains feeling a little soggy.

I got the devil and the tower on my taroit card what does that mean?
google it
tower:
The Tower is an unsettling card. Fire, lightning, falling on jagged rocks - definitely looks like trouble! Card 16 will not be welcomed by those who dislike change. It represents a sudden, dramatic upheaval or reversal in fortune. Usually change is gradual, giving us time to adapt, but sometimes it is quick and explosive. This is the action of the Tower.
In films, the hero sometimes slaps someone who is groggy or babbling. Having tried everything else, he finally resorts to a sharp sting to snap him out of it. Sudden crises are life's way of telling you to wake up. Something's wrong, and you're not responding. Are you too full of pride? Expect a blow to your ego. Are you holding back your anger? Expect the dam to burst. Are you stuck in a rut? Expect a surprise.
How you respond to the Tower's change makes all the difference in how uncomfortable the experience will be. Recognize that the disruption occurred because it was needed. Perhaps embracing the change is too much to ask, but try to find the positive in it. In fact, you may feel tremendous release that you have finally been forced in a new direction. You may have a burst of insight about your situation and reach a new level of understanding about it.:
the devil:
Upright - Money matters. Feeling the burden of the material side of life. Desire for physical and material things. Feeling of frustration and oppression. A tendency to collect and hoard money and material objects. Lust. Sexual obsession. The querent's knowledge of his or her own needs, wants and desires. Security versus creative or spiritual fulfillment.
Ill Dignified or Reversed - True evil. Abuse of authority. Material success is the focus to the exclusion of all other things. Uncontrolled ambition. Greed. Bondage to a person or situation or thing. Emotional blackmail. More severe forms of the above. True evil.
sounds pretty bad.. makes me think youre kidding?
if not.. i am sorry...

www.biddytarot.com has the card meanings on the website...nice explanations too. Unfortunately some of the reversals of certain cards dont have explanations on them. Can anyone else recommend a good site in reading into meanings of cards? I got into this just recently, so Im still a beginner. I would like to understand this better.

I did a reading this Friday. It was okay, it didnt tell me anything that I didnt know already.
I'm looking for something that can give me an interpretation of a card based on its placement in the Celtic cross.
My Card 10 which is the "outcome card" was the Nine Of Wands...which is not so good.
A few months ago I began learning reversal meanings. This site is really good when I get stumped on the card
http://www.users.qwest.net/~blackburns/Tarot101.html Nine of wands is not a bad card. It means perseverance, not backing down even though you have been hurt.

Which means I will be hurt in the process...I dont want that at all.
Sorry about that. I have always seen the card as being positive (what doesn't kill can only make me stronger), but then again I have always been seen as being somewhat backwards in my thinking.
