I like that his right-hand-man came forward to tell the really real on what happened that day because there had been speculation that Steve had prodded and teased the stingray.
The beauty of this is not only he died doing what he loved (how many of us can do that really?) but it was also a statement of how nature works, the nature he loved so much.
This sting ray with milions of years of evolution and acting on instinct...more pure than us humans.
On an unrelated note...I hate people asking "What was going through your mind when he died?"..why does that even matter? It's not about you, it's about what the person dying is experiencing. I just don't see the point of this question. Would anyone answer with "Oh I was overjoyed"?
