In an effort to talk about something interesting for a change, what is it that sparks your creativity? Is there a certain song or film? Character? Book?
The first time I read "Catcher in the Rye," I was 16. I checked it out of the high school library. I read it in a day. I'd been writing stories since practically 1st grade. Just stuff for myself, nothing I was looking to publish.
After I read that book, I was inspired, but also intimidated. I didn't (and still don't) think I could ever write something as moving or compelling as that book. Still, I decided to be a writer that day, and I'm still on the journey, but somehow, in the end, I think it will be worth it.
A tremendous amount of life is spent examining "what" everything means in life .. and to each person, life means something different and so they speak from their perspective as to what it means.
This sparks inside of me .. a journey is started to find out why, where, for what reason .. a particular assessment, conclusion or perspective was conveyed.
Looking inward into a person inspires my life to keep focus on the evolution of mankind, and since I'm an Eschatologist (not professionally, rather, passion) ... the answers to my quest lies within each person's own inspirations to make them do the things they do in life, since this is what brings us to an end.

Gosh, P, I never would have guessed this just by reading your posts here...lol Seriously, have you ever considered becoming a therapist?
"One of my favorite books, Sea! I read it for the first time in junior highschool and I fell in love with it."
It's a masterpiece! I've had to buy it several times because I reread it so much I wear out each copy pretty quickly. :o
"but most of my creativity lives in my mind. I have yet to find my true form of expressing it all."
Hmmm......singing....perhaps? lol Just remembering that story you shared the other evening. 😉
"you seem to have that same gift, Sea. Keep at it. Sometimes what the public decides is your best work, is the work you were most insecure about."
Aww, thanks, MsP. I'm very critical of my writing. I think that's why many writers go nuts and die alone. Living inside your own head and then hating what comes out in the page.
So get a new one! 🙂 I don't write in mine as often as I should. I wrote every day when I was younger. Now, I write about once every few weeks.
"I know when I look back to what I wrote when I was in grade school, its so interesting to be able to get a first hand look into the mindset you had at that age. Its funny as hell too!"
Oh God, I know! I wrote quite a lot in my journal when I was going through my first serious relationship (Ironically, the same year I first read CitR, when I was 16). When I read some of that stuff now, I feel like screaming at my younger self: "Don't do THAT, you IDIOT!" lol
"Sometimes when I get stumped on something in life I go back a year to the date and see somethings..ITs very theraputic"
I do that occasionally to, SF. It's crazy how you discover patterns in your life that way! It's helpful to, sometimes, because you can kind of figure out what's coming next.
Yeah, what is it that inspires (or inspired) your favorite mode of creativity, SS? If you're a writer, yes, what made you decide to do that? A certain book at a certain moment, etc.
Well, oftentimes, when I think up poems, people-watching inspires me. They are so complex, yet so simple. So different and yet very much the same. Their stories are fascinating. You can create stories for them from mere snippets- glimpses into their lives.
Struggles inspire me. Whether it is the struggle of an individual or group.
So, I'll perch myself in the window of Starbucks or in the middle of the park to find a story.
If you've never seen this movie, rent it. Now. Few other films have captured so beautifully both what it means to be an artist and the thin line between love and hate.

YOUR TURN! 🙂
