I tend to take a dip when I need to get away from it all ... when I need to escape and go into my own world. I find it rejuvenating.
On the other hand ... I go for a swim when I feel a new change has come ... when I have overcome another chapter in my life. When I have made a self discovery.
I was like that when I was younger, I was so afraid of the water but I loved to be in it. I had an incident when I was about three years old where a wave splashed me and I ran around the beach screaming "I drowned, I drowned" 🙂 I told myself that I have to get rid of the fear and not too long ago got back into swimming. It's wonderful. 🙂
P-Angel,
I am the same way now, too. I am afraid of swimming in the ocean and when it's dark. I like to be able to see the bottom. Swimming pools with a view of the sea/ocean are great. I haven't tried the bathtub yet.
I just came back from the pool - amazing to be underwater with the sun shining on top.
I've had those kind of 'fun games' happen to me too. I used to hate water games when I was younger and I still do today. I like calm activities when I'm in the water 🙂 I can see how you didn't talk to your cousin for the rest of the day 🙂
I am sure it was traumatic 🙂 My parents said that they were confused by my crying out the words, while running on the bach "I drowned ..." when I was alive 🙂
prettypisces24,
Congrats to your sis!!! 🙂 She is making us all proud!
Sweet-P,
My dad made sure I knew how to swim, so swimming wasn't an option it was simply mandatory. Now I am glad, back then ... not the case. 🙂
Swimming tones every part of the body soooo nicely :p I hate the gym!!!
