Why do other signs consider Pisces to be the weakest sign in the zodiac due to our "emotional instability?" I mean really, are we unstable? I dont think so. I think yes, we are very emotional only because we are so in touch with our feelings and connected spiritually to the things going on around us. Wouldnt that be a strength?
To have the ability to feel people's joys, pains, and victories on a personal level is very strengthening i think. I feel sorry for the person who can not feel the love and the pain of the world because they will always be in the dark and numb. and who wants to be numb? I admit, feeling so much can be pretty overwhelming at times, but i wouldnt give up my ability to feel for anything, especially when it's good things that im feeling. With feeling comes the ability to understand, and isnt that what life is about? just trying to understand what the hell is going on?
I just get so tired of people saying aww, you're a pisces? you guys are too emotional. all we have as humans are our emotions, our ability to think, trust and feel our way through life. i dont see any of us being born with instruction manuals.

i dont feel bad for being a pisces. i couldnt imagine being anything else. i just hate that oooh she's emotional, dont make arielle cry. im like please, im not going to cry. but then i do feel so intensely for people when they are suffering. yes the va tech thing did have me feeling pretty tender.
and i can remember being really angry with my roommate for dismissing the nine eleven tragedy when it happened. she was just so nonchalant about it, and i was like hey numb nuts, people are burning to death and you're asking me what's for lunch!

it was a sad situation that was handled totally improperly... but i won't get into the politics of it.
i feel terrible abotu what happened in Va Tech though. there are a lot of families going through absolute hell right now. it was just a senseless tragedy that was totally unnecessary and possibly preventable.
every year at so many of these universities, people lose it over relationships or grades and flip out and want to take others with them in their plot to kill themselves and that's totally unacceptable. Is no one paying attention to these kids who are just so detached and introverted that they feel they have to commit such acts? i swear, if i were running a school, when kids had to get their shots in order to be admitted, they would have to undergo a mental stability evaluation as well. it should be standard. gotta get your tetanus shot, gotta get evaluated. can't get into school with a positive TB analysis, can't get into school with a positive profile for schizophrenia. but then, that's probably unrealistic.
I just feel something has to be done. someone has to protect these students.

mental stability is a very big issue for a lot of people. not to say you can't enter college because you have issues, but if your issues are going to put others in danger, it really should be mandatory that you attend counseling. I mean if your mom shot your dad in front of you and your baby brother thinks he's the devil, you might have a few issues that should be addressed. i know that's extreme and you're right, it probably is an invasion of privacy but something has to be done... not that that is the correct solution.
security is an issue im sure but i dont know how much it can be intensified. who is going to question a student going into a dorm? who would question a student going into a school of engineering? i mean, the negligence comes from them not shutting the entire school down after the first shooting occurred. they hadnt found the guy and yet they allowed the campus to remain open anyway. hopefully in the future, they will come up with something. it's just so sad. people have lost their lives on account of someone else's bullshit

metal detecters is a good idea. i think that they should have phones in the classroom so that they can notify the professor in a state of emergency. they werent able to contact the professors to let them know what was going on at all... you know if they are conducting class, anything could be happening and they would never know.

i personally think where there is lack of sensitivity, there is also weakness, not the other way around. Nothing is more endearing or beautiful in this world than compassion, vulnerability, and empathy for oneself and others; it's what makes us truly human, much wiser and stronger in the end ..
