It's All Sounding Too Familiar ??_
..........................................................................................................................

A lie told often enough becomes the truth.
-- --

There are no morals in politics; there is only expedience. A scoundrel may be of use to us just because he is a scoundrel.
-- --

Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.
-- --

Destroy the family, you destroy the country.
-- --

The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.
-- --

It is true that liberty is precious; so precious that it must be carefully rationed.
-- --

He who now talks about the "freedom of the press" goes backward, and halts our headlong course towards Socialism.
-- --

We do not have time to play at —oppositions?? at —conferences.?? We will keep our political opponents??_ whether open or disguised as —nonparty,?? in prison.
-- --

One of the basic conditions for the victory of socialism is the arming of the workers and the disarming of the bourgeoisie (the middle class).
-- --

One man with a gun can control 100 without one.
-- --

A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie.
-- --

The goal of socialism is communism.
-- --

Freedom in capitalist society always remains about the same as it was in ancient Greek republics: Freedom for slave owners.
-- --

The bourgeoisie is many times stronger than we. To give it the weapon of freedom of the press is to ease the enemy??s cause, to help the class enemy. We do not desire to end in suicide, so we will not do this.
--

All our lives we fought against exalting the individual, against the elevation of the single person, and long ago we were over and done with the business of a hero, and here it comes up again: the glorification of one personality. This is not good at all. I am just like everybody else.
--

The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.

al points to make-- starting here:

Most of the populace is uninformed, and too busy demonizing the other side...great tactic to keep them distracted while overpaid politicians serve their own interest and whatever lobbyist is knocking on their door.

That you don't see this in yourself is startling.

Talk radio or Faux news?

To say nothing of the cartoon.

Further--

your whole OP is alluding to our Govt becoming a socialist system...Its ridiculous. We're very far away from becoming Cuba or North Korea. Let's not lose touch with reality here.

-- you grasped immediately what was being said from the material listed, instantly giving it the credence it deserves.

Because it's true; the similarities are undeniable.

What you aren't grasping is that the country is becoming socialized while Washington and the lobbyists are capitalizing on the effort; they intend to profit via legislation.

It isn't broken; it's quite intentional.

You can call it what you like, but the end result is the same: the loss of our individual liberties to the collective.

LOL @ "startling" kinda dramatic there, Montey.

I'm aware that I was poking fun of the far far FAR right position...its so filled with ridiculous nonesense, I imagine it would be difficult for most sane individuals not too...and the cartoon was made to be humorous, and its obviously an exaggeration of the truth. Now, obviously I'm not right in front of you to observe your body language or facial expressions, but u seem a bit upset by it...maybe I'm just reading too much into your post, dunno.

anywho, the fact that somebody I never met (most likely a group of people I never met) took the time to create the cartoon, probably means they noticed the same BS being spewed by similar parties.

You're rationalizing.

And anyone would be upset at the current government-- but at your post?

No. This is an old hat-- nothing new that I haven't heard or challenged before.

What you're bringing to the table is essentially this: "Someone agrees with me that I don't know, so it must be true."

I think the fact that this set of political views must be delivered in either the form of a cartoon or a comedy show is telling-- if you can't prove them wrong, by God, you can at least mock them.

And that's what you're doing.

*shrugs*

OK. this post just speaks VOLUMES.

Such as? That's soo vague.

I can agree with the first part...
but the second part...Montey, what individual liberty have YOU yourself lost so far? What have the takers taken from you? 🙂

No. That isn't what I said.

I said the "end result" would be the loss of our individual liberties, based on the measures our government is taking, which are remarkably similar to the measures of Lenin... the Communist.

Jive Turkey.

😐

Histrionics from your link regarding "the Right"-- and this is just from the first paragraph:

"... all these hard-won gains being destroyed by the Right, which is—

they??ve decided that Democrats are not going to vote for them, so they??ve—the way they??re fixing it is to prevent people from voting.

And there are many, many states that have laws passed that make it very hard there. They??re stopping early voting.

They??re not allowing weekend voting.

You have to bring in your right arm and take a quart of blood in order to cast a ballot. This is outrageous."

.......................

lol

I think they just suggested presenting some ID.

Now WHY would they do that?

.......................

June 2008

"Last July, ACORN settled the largest case of voter fraud in the history of Washington State.

Seven ACORN workers had submitted nearly 2,000 bogus voter registration forms.

According to case records, they flipped through phone books for names to use on the forms, including

—Leon Spinks,?? —Frekkie Magoal?? and —Fruto Boy Crispila.??

Three ACORN election hoaxers pleaded guilty in October.

A King County prosecutor called ACORN??s criminal sabotage —an act of vandalism upon the voter rolls.??

The group??s vandalism on electoral integrity is systemic.

ACORN has been implicated in similar voter fraud schemes in Missouri, Ohio and at least 12 other states.

The Wall Street Journal noted:

—In Ohio in 2004, a worker for one affiliate was given crack cocaine in exchange for fraudulent registrations that included

underage voters, dead voters and pillars of the community named Mary Poppins, Dick Tracy and Jive Turkey."

.......................

And that is just ONE example.

Weird story.

Because children are covered, no matter what-- and so are their mothers, when they receive state aid.

They're counting on your ignorance while they shill for Obama-- there are alternatives; you just won't hear about them.

But that's another topic.

Anyway

The comedian you've shown here is citing "Think Progress" as a valid source.

That's a liberal blogsite and part of the politically affiliated, liberal think-tank, CAP.

Also, "... does not give a shit" is not a reason; it's a convoluted personal opinion, coupled with flimsy emotional appeal.

And you keep mentioning guns.

Guns guns guns.

What I take from that is that you don't know what government regulation means, apart from "guns"

So I would encourage you to read everything you can on this subject-- what it means, and what the cost is to the average citizen who is trying to do business.

From the OP:

The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.
.................................................

"... like so much that is proposed under the magic mantra of "change," it is something that has been tried before in many countries and failed before in many countries...

Jack up the capital gains tax rate in the United States and more Americans can be expected to send their capital elsewhere.

That means sending jobs elsewhere, so that even people with no capital to invest lose employment opportunities.
...

The idea that you can single out one segment of society to be taxed or mandated, for the benefit of the rest of society, is reminiscent of a San Francisco automobile dealer's sign: "We cheat the other guy and pass the savings on to you."

The economy is not a zero-sum game where someone gains what others lose. The whole economy can lose when ill-considered policies gain political popularity and stifle economic growth."

-Thomas Sowell, economist

If you can grasp that, I'll cover this one next.

"Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted."
