i think Hillary will make a decent VP, if that's what in the ticket.. i think she'll get off the ego train once the smoke clears and things settle. *btw, universal health care has worked very well over here, although not perfect in all ways. We're kind of in reverse; very cautious of any other system, like privatization. Money should never be a factor in who receives the best or quickest health-care. It's like breathing air, everyone's entitled..

"Some of Mrs. Clinton's supporters urged Mr. Obama to take the senator on as his running mate.

Robert L. Johnson, a prominent Clinton backer and the founder of Black Entertainment Television, said Wednesday on the CNN program "American Morning" that he planned to enlist members of the Congressional Black Caucus to push Mr. Obama to accept Mrs. Clinton as his vice presidential nominee. He said Mrs. Clinton had not directed his efforts, but was aware of them.

Lanny Davis, who was an aide in the Clinton White House, said he was circulating a petition asking Mr. Obama to pick Mrs. Clinton as his running mate. Mr. Davis said he was acting on his own."

let me guess you believe Michael Moore when he tells you Cubans get better care than us?

Have you ever had to receive health care as a poor person? How about your education did you have a choice where you wanted to go? Do you understand that Healthcare is more in the business of business than saving lives. My boyfriend died because of medical malpractice...he was not poor, he had excellent healthcare, and for what his healthcare did not cover he had the money to pay for it.....yet because the hospital kept traipsing students in to treat him he is no longer here and he could have been saved!!!! But they used him as an experiment and let him die!

So if he as a young vibrant very successful Caucasian male got that kind of pi $ $ poor treatment what do you think the poor on medicaid get? That's right barely a band-aid

Who pays for the poor, who bear more children then the educated (fact), for their care?

No offense but have you thought maybe if we had healthcare they could afford birth control? And please don't shout out Planned Parenthood because they still have to pay for it! Have you thought that maybe our horribly dilapidated and antiquated education system plays a part in that? The books are from what 1975 and thats in a fairly decent school. You cannot expect people to make decisions using information they have no access too! How about generational welfare.....for some families that is how they eat..by continuing to procreate! Why? well this is where institutionalized racism comes in!

IMO you are speaking of the external consequences that naturally arise from a root action and you are speaking about it only because what? uncle sam is taking a little more of your check these days to try and smooth over the mess we have made? If you want to stop the drain that the economically challenged, disadvantaged, and uneducated have on our economy and your life then you need to roll your sleeves up go in the schools and start doing something about it! Because the only thing completely cutting them off is going to get is more Americans like yourself getting JACKED!!!!

""Your saying people are dying in hospitals? No they are not.""

Again my boyfriend a healthy 33 year old Caucasian male with excellent healthcare and a six-figure a year salary died because of a hospital's negligence! In fact it was partly an infection caused by THEIR instruments that created the sepsis that killed him!

How do you explain MRSA—? How do you explain staph infections—? How do you explain hospital injection site sepsis— Acts of nature. I really hope you never get critically ill cuz you are in for one rude awakening!

Furthermore how do you explain one person having 4 doctors? 4 doctors that don't consult the other on the prescription meds they give.....healthcare is not the place for the left hand to be in secret from the right hand. But in America it is! Why? for a few extra bucks.

Thank you PFE. Dude even the sisters of st. joseph are in it to make money....you know the owners of St. John Healthsystem. What happened to living a life of poverty for God? Well that plays no part in raking in a few bucks off sick people's backs. It's sick what health care has become it really is.

It is so sick that I personally read my boyfriend's 400 + page file and even I a lay person with no medical training could see the gross deviation from the standard of care he was supposed to receive. Oh and my favorite was when his doctor who we couldn't track down when he was in ICU to have his records sent, and the hospital wasn't smart enough to request them or use them after we personally got them called my cellphone to schedule a follow up appointment 40 days after he died!!!

Holy crap! Did you give them an earful?? I think I would have lost control over my words.

I did and after his death I read the entire medical report, flagged the pages where they screwed up, secretly recorded the chief of staff of one of the hospitals that messed up in a meeting with the family where he admitted they screwed up, and hand delivered the medical file, my timeline, the recording, and synopsis/informal brief to the med mal lawyer at the firm I interned for.

I do not think your views are stupid or testosterone induced I just disagree with some of them based on my personal experience. I also believe that attacking an issue like health care has to be done with a realistic method. We all know that mass privatization is not going to happen any time in the near future, so we need realistic solutions for the immediate problems in the present. There is way too much bureaucracy involved today for there to be some sort of mass change so that leaves us as individuals to begin attacking the problem.

I did not mean to come off hostile it is just that I see so much suffering while some Americans turn a blind eye. And it makes me upset when I hear people characterize the poor as freeloaders when in fact they are bogged down with so much of the BS that comes with being poor by the time they cut through all of the red tape everyday.....the business day is over and so is that day's opportunity to try and create a new life.

And you have those who have tried day after day to find a way out of their present conditions but have been rejected or ostracized because of racism. It is all very sad.

Congrats on the Mensa!

Medical Malpractice of course occurs, and yes negligence. Do you think this is exclusive to the US health care system? And do yo think a socialized system is the answer?

No but it is way too prevalent or rampant in the U.S. look at Kanye West's mom. I met her one month to the day before she died. She was healthy, vibrant, and more importantly her son was Kanye West. However a doctor looking at the zeros behind the West name ignored the caution signs saying don't proceed!

Whether the health system is socialized, capitalized, or whatever there needs to be tighter regulation and standards. Regardless of the system you use if there is no regulation the same behavior will continue. Health care makes too much money, and then they funnel the money to politicians through PACs, lobbyist, political funds, organizations and political fundraisers.

That is why I say until we are a unified front and demand a higher quality and standard in health care it doesn't matter what system you create or de-construct there needs to be unified regulations.

lol getting jacked isnt a fear I have over whether or not a repub or dem gets into the whitehouse over socialized medicine. A scenario much more treacherous is a nuclear war in the ME.

Why there is nothing you can do to prevent nuclear war, however you can begin to change our society. You can use some of that Mensa intelligence to educate the uneducated. It only takes 1 person to start a movement.

Gas at 20 per gallon is not something you can control, therefore, why worry about things you can do nothing about?

Whoa! I bet that was a satisfying outlet (cathartic). I had a similar experience with a family member recently, although it was not malpractice. It did leave me with the realization: once you check in, you don't check out.

Nah..I'd rather have my boyfriend back. Actually doing that has kept me in the grieving process much longer. You separate yourself when you are listening to the experts like the pathologist, well at least I do, so that if any legal red flags jump out I'm not emotional silly putty. However after sitting and listening to the medical experts, pathologists, lawyers etc. after those meetings once I stop blocking the emotions I am back to square one.

I am sorry for your loss 😢

As soon as you agree captialism may not be fair but to date its the best system. Then you know poverty is essential to make it work but so are the poor (living longer lives), the key is making the poor raise their standard at the same rate as everybody else. Capitalism isnt a zero sum game.

taurus/aries-cusp ...

I can tell by the way you word things that you are a political junkie 😛

We need to get back to more conservative thinking. Unfortunately Bush has made it much harder to get a true conservative in office. Obama says all the things that get people emotional, but he's a guaranteed flop.

Sorry B, but this is where you and I part. Getting people emotional is a guaranteed flop? LOL, that's what LBJ said about JFK and he's still the most popular president next to FDR.
8 years of conservative thinking is the reason why the U.S. is in such terrible shape, do you see and hear what's going on around you? Dude, we are in a recession and trust me, no with the seem ideals as Mr.Barack Obama is responsible for this.

Clinton would have been an amazing president...too bad the media and the DNC decided otherwise

LOL!!!!!!! The media didn't decide that 😉 Goodness me, I feel so bad for Obama, it must be tough being so cool. LOL, people seem to find fault in that.

Of course he plays on emotions -- THATS WHAT MOST POLITICIANS DO!!!!! *ding*dong*

I can't believe it, this is what politicians are suppose to yet the rules have to be different for senator Obama ::rolls eyes twice::

Since he has a taurus moon, he just does it better then every body else. Bill Clinton has an earth moon too (HA!), thats why he was able to win two terms in office LOL, now I'm not a fan of Bill, but he knew exactly what to do and I have to give him credit 😉
