Hi All,
A friend of mine that I've known for a few years popped the question on me this past weekend. The question being "Can we be exclusive?" He and I had always had a good friendship and at one point, I did want to date him. Our friendship had always been a little bit more than just friends, as we've held hands and kissed before.
This is all new territory for me as I had never dated anyone that I actually knew. I have a few questions about dating a friend for those ONLY who have experienced this.
1) Is there a honeymoon/infatuation phase? That excitement of 'new' isnt there for me...
2) Is there an adjustment period to see them more than just a friend, but rather a BF/GF? I still see him as I've seen him before.... the friend that I have always know him to be. I just know now that we're committed to each other.
3) Were you two ever intimate while being friends? He and I went out several times, held hands, kissed, hugged and slept in the same bed.
4) Am I supposed to act any differently? I know its a dumb question and the answer is obvious, but I don't know if I should act more like a 'girlfriend' or just continue acting as his friend...
Thank you,
Milani
Dating Friend can be the best decision in your life or the worst you would have made.
Yes there will be an adjustment period, and lots of talks about expectations.. but communication shouldn't be a problem at this point.
You'll know if it works out or not by the 3-4 month.
