Height preference when dating?

6ft or more, no negotiations. Any puny man better be wearing platform heels when he approaches me & I better not see them.
I'm almost 5'3", no preference. However, most have been around 5'10/11", one was 5'9" and now I have taken a liking to someone who is 5'5". Fine by me, I don't need to stand on my toes LOL (other than kissing, I'm guessing being so close in height may work well for other "things" as well??)
My ex was 5'9 almost 5'10. But being 6'2 woman, it is nice to be able to look eye to eye with someone. LOL

Yeah I agree. I've dated guys that were shorter like 5"7-5"9 that were pretty built and they didn't look so short. I have seen taller guys LOOK short. Make sense?
I'm just under 5"3. I guess if I was pretty close to the same height as them in my tallest shoes I would be ok. No more than me being an inch taller. Because I have 5" heels!
I'm not sure I liked the towering over guys when in heels though. I do have to say, while I'm partial to tall men, it makes kissing hard! I would get hard core stares when I dated a slim 6"6 Virgo, even in 5" heels I was maybe slightly over his waist.
My 5"8-5"9 ex was a lot easier to get close to.

My mom is 5'9 and my dad is 6'4. Funny though, my dad was the tallest in his family with his parents and brother not passing 5'6. My sis is 5'7. I have another daughter 14 months younger then the 13 yo and I don't think she will make it to 5'10. I have a son who is 10 and that is to young to tell, but he is tall for his age. All my kids have the same dad.

my husband is taller than me, and i'm average height. Not short, not tall. But i love it that my husband is taller. I wouldnt want TOO tall, like for example a basketball player.

Female, 5'7", but when I wear heels, I'm practically 6'.... so I like my dudes to be 6' or taller.
I typically date in the 5'0" - 5'10" range. Standing at 6'0" myself those are about my only options because anyone taller is just about guaranteed to already be with some short stack half my size.

I agree and disagree. I agree that you should have the height that you want, but disagree that "short should be with short and tall should be with tall"...
I think I compensate for being small... I drive an SUV, no kids, just me, my phone is an S2, I'm waiting on the Note 3 to hit Sprint, I like big houses, men, etc.

As another member and I have talked about on this issue before, tall men are common. Tall women are not. I think NYAA threw out a figure once that only 0.07% of women reach a height of 5'10" or more.

Yeah, there's a lot of men who get insecure about women taller than they are. I've ditched more than one prospect because of that--including the shoe scenario. But there are also quite a few who don't care. Like I said before, I don't have a problem with it as long as they don't.

When I'm in my tallest shoes 5"7"-5"8ish, they have to be at least my height. So not shorter than 5"7!!

Some might develop some issues with feelings of inferiority. Generally women don't have to confront problems with being shorter in stature the same way men do because it's considered to be normal. Shorter females can still easily find mates. Shorter men on the other hand have to contend with ridicule, and worse, rejection by potential mates based on their height. There have even been experiments performed where females were likely to choose unemployed felons over wealthy, good natured and family oriented men if the criminal was tall and the more lucrative prospect, short. The only thing that was able to sway their opinions were if they were presented with the felon as being a child molester and some women still waivered.
It's really pretty irrational if you think about it.

I've heard some comments about being "too big" before too. I just shrug it off like, "you mean you're not attracted to long legs and statuesque feminine figures? That's cool, brah. Sometimes I get turned on by men too." LOL
I lament how hard it can be to find clothes and shoes in my size a lot but I don't think I would give up my height for anything. I love being able to reach stuff other people can't without help. I enjoy being strong enough to do things that smaller women can't. It's awesome being built to wear stuff that isn't meant for other types of figures. And the looks on girls' faces at the club when I come strutting in all tall and proud and their boys can't help looking--priceless.
I'm a 6' male. I've never dated or shagged any ladies taller than me. Mostly because I don't really know any. Height isn't really a factor I consider.
Looking back I've dated very close to my height, most of the girls have been around 5'10 to 5'11 and a couple actually been slightly taller.
