I think it's just you. When I used dating sites almost every single person who messaged me was an aquarius. No lie. Other notable mentions: gemini and sagittarius.

I used one in order to get over a horrible Virgo, my goal was to be distracted and go on dates just for fun, I kept an open mind, went on at least 2 dates per week for about 2 months and then I met my Cancer 🙂

People look for love in different places. Some a coffee shop, others the grocery store, and sometimes even a dating website. I personally think that actually meeting someone by fate is better, but there are people who have met the love of their lives online. So no matter what your sign is...Don't be afraid to do whatever it takes to find your soul mate

I'm a Scorpio and I had an online dating account for a couple of years until I decided to remove it altogether.
I met a lot of Geminis. Two of them actually hurt me pretty badly. Plenty of Scorpios, Aquarius and Sagittarius also.
I never talked to a single Cancer though because I never found one!
I met two Capricorns who were annoying as hell. One of them thought I was a "fake" the entire time and kept questioning every single one of my moves to know whether I was a "fake" or not.
I met a Taurus guy who turned out to be my "college sweetheart" until we broke up before graduation.
I also met a Pisces man who drove me nuts. He was hot and charismatic, but too much of a flake. I was absolutely into this guy. It never worked. Looking back, I'm glad it didn't because he was just full of hot air.
Now, I'd rather meet people at a caf?, bar, bookshop, gym ... whatever. I'm absolutely done with dating websites because most guys on there are looking for a quick hookup and they never are what they seem to be. I'd rather go the traditional route now. No need for an online dating account anymore. I have yet to find a guy on a online dating website who wants to have a serious relationship.

WOW! That's been the story of the last two years of my life. I used to joke that every single Aqua on 100 mile radius contacted me on dating sites! Been with an Aqua for 6-7 months, now I'm with a Gem.
