This is why the movie did so well and hits a chord with almost everyone.
You see, Titanic is a microsm of the real world we live in.
The rich in the lifeboats saw the poor dying when they had more than enough room on their lifeboats but only thought about themselves. Although some rich folks probably died trying to save the poor who were on Titanic.
The rich prosper and survive (1st World) and the poor (3rd World) starve and die and are largely ignored.
But you can break it down even further, in the 1st world you also have seperation, as we know the 1% control government and so forth.....why dont we the American people, have LOBBYIST to represent us?
While the General electrics and Pfizers have Lobbyist to help and assist their INTERESTS!!!!
So in a way, even the USA is like a Titanic. Remember the economic collapse, the occupy Wall Street movement....what has that done to the rich? NOTHING!!
They closed a homeless shelter in my city, no funding. But they are spending MILLIONS on beautification of a part of city, no one gives a fuck about, for what? so people driving by can say, "Oh look at that pretty stone wall and those flowers and look how manicured the landscape is--- What a pretty city."
Meanwhile the mayor and city officials are all rotting on the inside.
Imagine Earth being Titanic and a giant asteroid being that Iceberg. Now ask yourselves....WHO WOULD YOU BE DYING WITH?click to expand

True! Money = Power! The richer, the more powerful, so they can do "almost" whatever they want, but they can NOT buy "true love".......just like Rose fell in love with Jack and left her rich fiance...
There is unfairness all over the world...how rich become richer? how poor become poorer? The fact is money can NOT guarantee people pursuing their happiness, so the poor may be happier than the rich......just like Jack was much happier than Rose's rich fiance...
I believe that dying with "true love" is the best way to die...but in reality, it is so hard to find the "true love"...

(
Lets be real, Rose was ready to leave rich-boy. Jack just happened to give a fuck about poor rich girl trying to kill herself and stopped her.
And Rose should have never forgot or "let go" of Jack...how could you forget someone who would do anything (in this case, give up his life), ANYTHING for you. Before you got together, during the relationship and even AFTER the relationship ended. Thats True Love. True Romance.click to expand

I heard that Titanic is based on a true story...that's why it can touch my heart......and became the best movie ever

That movie makes me shudder.
Only because my parents took me with them to see it in the theaters when I was 7, where I shouted that I was bored in the middle of a scene.
And then I got screamed at in the car on the way home.
So I don't like the movie.

Romeo and Juliet on the Titanic.
Brilliant simple concept that made Billions!! James Cameron is a fucking genius!!
He actually truly cares about Titanic and i watched something on NATGEO, some FINAL REPORT on Titanic.
James Cameroon brough together a team of scientists and to figure out if perhaps Titanic was a weak ship and thats why it sunk. But they found just the opposite. Despite its crippling accident, Titanic stayed afloat for 2 hours and 40 minutes and that helped save 700+ lives. Most BIG ships that have sunk (Lusitania, Bismarck and even that cruise ship that sank earlier this year i think off the coast of Italy) all those big ships tilted on their sides which disables the lifeboat lowering systems.
But Titanic stayed upright and is why they were even able to lower the lifeboats and save some lives.
Anyways....i watched Titanic in 1997 because I was always interested in the ship's story. But just like when i went to see Slumdog Millionaire (cause I liked the game show), I had no idea they were both love stories and was surprised to find myself fighting back tears at the end of both movies, wasnt expecting that shit. hahahaha
You're in severe violation of Man Law. It's ok though....everybody gets one....click to expand

Sorry. Didnt know almost crying at a movie made me less of a man.
Plus I live by one Law......my own, not some stupid "man code".
I couldnt give a shit what a group of men would have to say in the first place.
I didnt hear from any "lawmakers" when i was starving in a prison cell a few years back.
Poor Jack, you had been treated unfairly...
But good thing is your heart is still going on......and keep going...

^you're pushing it. Burt Reynolds is the epitome of MAN LAW. Lmao
No seriously...I cried on Bicentennial Man. Titanic...eh...though the way you all are getting in depth here I may watch it again. I could NOT grip the "king of the world" scene and then later the scene of him just giving up on the floating board. In my opinion it was like he gave up.
