Just saw "Titanic: An IMAX 3D Experience"...great technics of 3D + moved loving story......must see it.
I can sing "My Heart Will Go On" very wellsmile...but my heart is always melting by this song...and feeling pain...Sad
If I were Rose, I would have gone with Jack... "U jump & I jump"...
However, I can't find my "Jack" in the real world......so I have to live in my dreams...Sad
Romeo and Juliet on the Titanic.
Brilliant simple concept that made Billions!! James Cameron is a fucking genius!!
He actually truly cares about Titanic and i watched something on NATGEO, some FINAL REPORT on Titanic.
James Cameroon brough together a team of scientists and to figure out if perhaps Titanic was a weak ship and thats why it sunk. But they found just the opposite. Despite its crippling accident, Titanic stayed afloat for 2 hours and 40 minutes and that helped save 700+ lives. Most BIG ships that have sunk (Lusitania, Bismarck and even that cruise ship that sank earlier this year i think off the coast of Italy) all those big ships tilted on their sides which disables the lifeboat lowering systems.
But Titanic stayed upright and is why they were even able to lower the lifeboats and save some lives.
Anyways....i watched Titanic in 1997 because I was always interested in the ship's story. But just like when i went to see Slumdog Millionaire (cause I liked the game show), I had no idea they were both love stories and was surprised to find myself fighting back tears at the end of both movies, wasnt expecting that shit. hahahaha

Good luck to find your "right" ROSE.....Big Grin
Yes I wont be able to go see this for I will end up a soppy mess at the end of it. Yes my heart will go on and yes I am a sucker for stupid love movies nowadays.
Funny I never was a sucker for the ol' love movie before and thought those types of movies were just really ridiculous these days things are are so fucking different and I hate feeling like this sooo fucking much.
The fight within does go on.. and continues well into the future never ending.
Why do I have to fight this feeling of love constantly not trying to let it get to me yet knowing full well it has gotten to me and I am in deep beyond what I have ever thought possible. I am a sucker and am trying to very hard not to be. Its a constant battle within to try to kept it level within and I am so fucking tired of it that I wish I never felt like this at all.
And even though I do type that I feel different. I am in love and it sux not to be with the one I love.
@ Capriquoise
I truly understood what you feel...same here Sad
You want "real" love, but you don't want to open your heart to someone you don't really love. Is that sad? Sure, but not too bad, at least...you won't get hurt from...but you may hurt someone who loves you unexpectedly.
I think that "true love" only exists in fairy tales or movies......
Aww I love that movie, especially the end - turns me into a sobbing idiot every single time Crying
< width="560" height="315" ="http:
yes, it caused me more tears Crying when it showed the majority of poor people died while the minority of rich people staying boats and watching them to die rather than helping them........very cruel Sad

This is why the movie did so well and hits a chord with almost everyone.
You see, Titanic is a microsm of the real world we live in.
The rich in the lifeboats saw the poor dying when they had more than enough room on their lifeboats but only thought about themselves. Although some rich folks probably died trying to save the poor who were on Titanic.
The rich prosper and survive (1st World) and the poor (3rd World) starve and die and are largely ignored.
But you can break it down even further, in the 1st world you also have seperation, as we know the 1% control government and so forth.....why dont we the American people, have LOBBYIST to represent us?
While the General electrics and Pfizers have Lobbyist to help and assist their INTERESTS!!!!
So in a way, even the USA is like a Titanic. Remember the economic collapse, the occupy Wall Street movement....what has that done to the rich? NOTHING!!
They closed a homeless shelter in my city, no funding. But they are spending MILLIONS on beautification of a part of city, no one gives a fuck about, for what? so people driving by can say, "Oh look at that pretty stone wall and those flowers and look how manicured the landscape is--- What a pretty city."
Meanwhile the mayor and city officials are all rotting on the inside.

Imagine Earth being Titanic and a giant asteroid being that Iceberg. Now ask yourselves....WHO WOULD YOU BE DYING WITH?

True! Money = Power! The richer, the more powerful, so they can do "almost" whatever they want, but they can NOT buy "true love".......just like Rose fell in love with Jack and left her rich fiance...Big Grin
There is unfairness all over the world...how rich become richer? how poor become poorer? The fact is money can NOT guarantee people pursuing their happiness, so the poor may be happier than the rich......just like Jack was much happier than Rose's rich fiance...Big Grin
I believe that dying with "true love" is the best way to die...smile but in reality, it is so hard to find the "true love"...Sad

Lets be real, Rose was ready to leave rich-boy. Jack just happened to give a fuck about poor rich girl trying to kill herself and stopped her.
And Rose should have never forgot or "let go" of Jack...how could you forget someone who would do anything (in this case, give up his life), ANYTHING for you. Before you got together, during the relationship and even AFTER the relationship ended. Thats True Love. True Romance.

Let's go on...Winking
I don't mean "true love" must die together... but "true love" can really change one's mind while she/he being in love.
If Rose didn't meet / know Jack, then she would have married that rich guy...it just happened the feeling of "true love" turned her to Jack who was a lucky poor boy, and finally, he proved that he really loved her since he chose to die for her.
I heard that Titanic is based on a true story...that's why it can touch my heart...smile...and became the best movie ever Big Grin
In my mind, "true love" should last forever.....should not give up / let go / break up for whatever reasons...
"true love" must be very romantic, but romance is not "true love", otherwise, "true love" should not be so precious.smile
In fact, so many people spend their whole lives on finding such "true love"...but failed sadly. Sad

That's false. The love story is not based on a True Story.
This is how James Cameron pitched the movie to the studio....
He held up a picture of Titanic and said....
"Romeo and Juliet and THIS SHIP."
The studio greenlit the project on the spot.
There was some kind of coincidence with Rose or another passenger, though, i forgot exactly what the fact was.
So im sorry. I mean, just cause it didnt happen like that in real life, doesnt mean it couldnt have happened. Sure it could. But this particular story is from the mind of James Cameroon.
But its rumors like that that earned the film Billions.
Shakespeare borrowed ???Romeo and Juliet"...that tradition of tragic romances is based on an Italian tale.
If Titanic is ???based?? on a true story...I didn??t check since it is NOT very important...scenario writers can change any detail as they want in order to cater to people??s appetites, and to earn the best movie with Billions.
I think I am talking about the ???true love?? more than the movie. I disagree with U as you said ????_Before you got together, during the relationship and even AFTER the relationship ended. That??s True Love. True Romance.??
Because I think ???true love?? should be ???UN-breakable??...forever...no matter what happened. Thus, there is NO such ???AFTER the relationship ended?? issue for true love, even if ONE is dead, but the true love is still going on in ANOTHER ONE??s heart...NEVER ended. That??s why I said that ???true love?? should last forever!!!
For any relationship, if the two can break up (doesn't matter how long it may take), then it shows there is NO true love between the two. Affection and attraction are some conditions that may lead into a relationship, but NOT guarantee to lead into ???true love??...... Clearly, ???true love?? can be tested by TIME.

That movie makes me shudder.
Only because my parents took me with them to see it in the theaters when I was 7, where I shouted that I was bored in the middle of a scene.
And then I got screamed at in the car on the way home.
So I don't like the movie.

Well, let's be honest. Humans want to survive.

You ruined the movie for your parents too. You party pooper.
Sure...it is too heavy for 7-yrs Winking
The most cruel thing is to know how selfish humans can be!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sad
Those cold-hearted busters caused 68% passengers died...much more than it should have...Crying
You may want to see it again after you grow-up...smile

You're in severe violation of Man Law. It's ok though....everybody gets one....

Sorry. Didnt know almost crying at a movie made me less of a man.
Plus I live by one Law......my own, not some stupid "man code".
I couldnt give a shit what a group of men would have to say in the first place.
I didnt hear from any "lawmakers" when i was starving in a prison cell a few years back.

^you're pushing it. Burt Reynolds is the epitome of MAN LAW. Lmao
No seriously...I cried on Bicentennial Man. Titanic...eh...though the way you all are getting in depth here I may watch it again. I could NOT grip the "king of the world" scene and then later the scene of him just giving up on the floating board. In my opinion it was like he gave up.

Bicentenial Man ?
hahahahahaa
Did you cry at Mrs. Doubtfire too?
Hey if anything we are violating VIRGO LAW!! Remember we have NO EMOTIONS!!
How could we forget?
hahahaha
