What is an acceptable amount of time for a potential lover to have been out of a previous long-term relationship for you to feel comfortable dating them?

Time don’t matter. Just as long as they’re over their ex
xd

best answer.
It’s really unique to the person. Sometimes the relationship is OVER before anyone walks away. That once they officially split they’re ready to move on.

But I wouldn’t want to date anyone who is actively healing or grieving a failed relationship. They have to be ready to let go.
I don't really have a time frame but admittedly might have my guard up more if they just got out of a serious relationship. About 1 1/2 years ago I got involved with someone that had just ended a 15 month relationship 4 months prior to us going out. It ended with her getting back with her ex. I'm not saying I wouldn't do it again but would be guarded now.
Depends on how long the relationship was and if the person appears to clearly be over their ex.
