came across this in a movie ('The Intimate'). so no matter what, things fizzle out, no matter what.

woman: do you think we should hold off (she means on marriage)
man: marriage is nothing, don't be too serious. okay? (meaning he wants them to marry)
woman:aren't you sick of me
man: every girl becomes the same after seven years
man: what the hell did i do wrong. everybody lives in his own hell.
woman: why should i be your hell. you can dump me.
man: i would do that. if i could get out of hell by dumping you. can you leave me? seven years. hell has expanded as much as our love has. everybody knows it is hell, but he can't get out of it.

guess this is every couple's story

I don't get it.

i guess it means how do you keep the love, passion alive? it just fizzles out. this couple has been together for years and is about to get married but does not feel that passion anymore. the guy says they just go ahead with marriage, he will live with the hell he feels with her, because for him it is natural with time to feel like this. the girl though has met someone with whom she has started having an affair, and this makes her think about the lack of emotions in her relationship with her future husband. i did not finish watching the movie so do not know who she ends up with 🙂

It's a very negative way of looking at things, i have to watch this movie, because the 7 year itch is very real.

I can barely keep a 6 month relationship alive. I don't know how people do it for 7 years ..but my Libra coworker told me the other day...it feels just like yesterday she met her husband. Time just flies.

true! i don't know either. guess that's what happens, you just live with whatever the feeling. or maybe get busy with the house/kids etc. and then carry on, because then the running and catching is over.

And you gotta let us know the end of the film!

I can put a bet that the film ends in three devastated and unhappy people, returning to their own respective lives thinking of what could have been, their regrets and what they have foolishly lost.

Haha so a film produced in France then?

I'll go for, one of the two in the couple dies an unfortunate death and the other ambiguously ends the film wondering if they were released from misery or more miserable as to what they lost.

That could be as well.

Yes, I also have the feeling it could be a very French film.

I think I have seen snapshots of this movie. My brother SCorpio loves movies like this. Loves romance films. We watch them together. Especially french, asian films.

Anyways this reminds me of "sneakys" thread. What if your soulmate walks into your life, while your married to someone else.

dang!! and we are allowed to feel after marriage? hehe. but seriously, i think first of all the mindset will not allow to let anyone play soulmate to you after marriage, meaning you will not invest emotionally to find out, and then even if you do, the guilt of being married will hold you back. unless your husband is abusive and your relationship is already not working out, it might be tough to let your soulmate stand out as your soulmate. hmm, then again, i have no experience of being married, so who knows?

@tiziani, maybe in 7 years you might want a hell with your ex 🙂

Maybe, maybe so. That's actually a very cool way to put it 🙂 We've turned a depressing film into an light-hearted thought.

I'm sure she would argue it WAS seven years of hell, and probably pictured murdering me for my own good to give me a slice of heaven!

Hahaha,

I can already picture a film for it, something a Scorpio could very well be a writer, producer and director for!
