Intimate and Unique Long Distance Tips and Tricks

What are some pointers you may have for long distance relationships?
Beyond the need to keep up texting and phone calls, maybe webcam chatting or scheduled dates (like eating dinner together on webcam).... what are some other tips and tricks you may have for keeping up a long distance relationship?
Recently, I wrote out a handful of sweet cards that say things like -
You are so special to me because??_ Your smile I something that I cannot even imagine living without. I want nothing more than to bring it out??_ OFTEN.
You are special to me because??_ with you I feel like there??s nothing I cannot accomplish. You make me feel as though I am all I should be.
You are special to me because??_ I can think of no one else I would like to hold and be held by when it matters most.
I dropped them in the mail to him a few days apart. I have a few more of those to send as well.
What are some sweet things you guys do or have seen done to keep the relationship going strong?

Watch movies together, either while on the phone, or while chatting. Listen to music together, while chatting. Read the same books, get into deep discussions about those books. You have to find new and interesting ways to share experiences together besides just talking on the phone or Skype or email or chatting. There needs to be shared experiences, a way to discover whether you both have similar tastes. I have a friend that we used to do this all the time, even ordering Indian food for lunch and having a lunch date while watching a movie together. We would chat back and forth, making comments about what we were watching, thoughts about what was said, or sung, and it really helped us to connect on a deeper level, and get to know each other and the way in which we would think about things or view things.

Before you say goodnite while on the phone and going to bed, tell him about a scenario you have of the two of you.
You and I together under the moon and stars in a sleeping bag big enough for two.
In the dunes on the beach at dusk. Getting busy.
But don't get graphic...keep it sweet, not dirty.
This will put it in his head, while he can't be with you. And at some point make it come true.
Work on his mind...not too many words with men though, keep it simple.
When you webcam chat, have his favorite sportsteam shirt on. Nothing else.

Mail him packages with his favorite things. I used to pick penny candy at Cracker Barrel, tons of it
and mail it to my boyfriend. But not too often it will seem like overkill then!
Not sure if guys are into cards like we are.
