Is texting back - mission impossible?

Have this friend I had mentioned before in love with college sweetheart for 30 years.
Both are far away from each other.
Communicating by phone/text.
They had been together and apart but now she had decided
She is going to move where he is and he didn't object.
However communications go strangely.
She texts him daily. He can send one word reply and that is it.
Last night she sends him text that she is sick at 9pm.
This morning at 9am he asking how
Is she doing?
She is very determined not to give up!
But what is with men and texting or calling? I don't buy 'no time' excuse.
And I've seen it in other signs so it's not his May 20 strange bday.
Does it sound like he cares at all?

LOL!!!! Gemitati!!! When I was reading it, I was thinking it should be a Taurus n there you go..A Taurus!!! Lol!!. After I saw this pattern with few Taurus men,I started to let them initiate everytime. When they ask me why I don't initiate at all, I never complained nor did I mention they do this.I just said that way I'll know when they're free to talk to(which is actually also true). N that worked for me. I wouldn't say they don't care..they just do things at their own pace. I can't complain coz I do the same many times n it's not coz I don't care.
But yeah, that's the way they text usually. I didn't see other signs doing that really. But I heard men are bad with the texting stuff anyway.
