Someone once told me that love is the greatest

Power in the world. He used the example of God (for those who believe. For those who don't insert whatever name). Do you agree with his statement? Any examples? Does it have to be mutual love or could it begin with/ be from one individual? What are your thoughts?

Sometimes I believe in love, sometimes I don't.

I'd never forget one thing I was told in my teens though by some old guy. He told me that those who are meant to be together, never end up together & I've seen it happening too so I believe it. My favourite love story have always been Layla & Majnu.

WarerCup, so you are saying star crossed lovers seems to be what you have seen the most. Could it be that they weren't meant to be after all or maybe just not at that time in life?

What have you noticed seems to be the main reasons they aren't together? Any common denominator?

I really don't know if they werent really meant to be in the 1st place, only God knows lol.

What I've noticed is, both people knew from the start that they belong together, but somehow things don't really work out for some reason. They give it several tries but it never works out. Finally one gives up but each consider the other to be the love of their life until the end. Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton are one of the examples & so is Frank Sinatra & Ava Gardner.

Richard & Liz broke up many times & married twice. When they got divorced the final time, he married someone else & spent the rest of his life with her..but he NEVER forgot Liz. Wks or days before he died he sent her a letter telling her that he misses her, loves her & wants to be together with her again, etc. Liz was on tour when the letter arrived at her house & when she finally read it he was dead. She kept it until her death.

Frank 1st saw Ava on a magazine cover & told one of his friends that he was going to marry her...but he was already married to Barbra at the time & had kids with her. Finally Frank & Ava met at the Meyer Studios, I think they were both filming movies. Long story short, they dated for years & he ended up divorcing his wife & married Ava days after the divorce was finalised. They had a rocky married, both had jealousy issues, temper, etc. They divorced in the end but both never got over the other. Ava died alone but it is said that she spent her lonely evenings in the dark listening to Sinatra's records. Frank bought a statue that was modelled after her for her role in the movie Mugambo, he had it installed in the garden of his house..she was still alive at this time. It is said that he spent drunken nights caressing & talking to the statue. All his women knew Ava was irreplaceable even the woman he later married, another Barbra. When Ava died Frank couldn't be consoled, his daughter said it in her book..he didn't even attend the funeral. Reporters said he was later seen in a limo by

@Jynja, I also believe/believed that the Unirverse wouldn't get in the way of two people meant to be together, but it looks like it does & like you said, they aren't ready. Personally I think it's cruel, why let them meet in the 1st place? Love like that can't be replaced or imitated & the two people involved must be feeling dissatisfied & sad for the rest of their lives. Cruel.

I never knew about twinflames, only soulmates & me & the ex believed we were soulmates. When we broke up, really creepy things started happening. At 1st I thought it was pure coincidence. The very 1st time I was coming from work, took off my shoes & switched on the tv...the very 1st word from the tv was my ex's name. This guy on tv with my ex's name was an uncle to some guy who was murdered..it was the 7 o'clock news. What really made me REALLY notice was when one of my husband's prayer books fell into the floor, the wind blew a window open & knocked ONE book to the floor...I went to pick it up & saw one of the prayers...it was my ex's name again. It was a prayer for luck. How I knew about twinflames? I took a book from the library, Linda Goodman's Love Sign & I took a break from the book to go eat lol. I returned to the book after I was done & continued to read about OUR compatibility. After I was done reading I went back to the 1st page to check the page for me & my husband's signs. Before I could even do that I noticed my finger stained one of the pages with grease lol. The grease stain was on something about twinflames, so I read that & FINALY..everything made sense. I googled it like crazy after that hahaha.

Thats just freaky. I would leave my house immediately if some weird shit took place.

The thing is no matter how long and how eventful it may have been with the Aries, she never even really had a chance from the start. It was completely overshowed by what happened with the Cancer before her. Which I didn't actually realise until I got a long break from it all. So it more or less puts it all to bed in terms of relevance really.

This is a subject that is so close to my heart

I was told by astrologers that i have a very strong need to find a soul mate (heavily packed 7th house). It was always a burning desire for me to be with what i thought was *the one*

The universe in its skill brought be a son and there and then i was to learn about what love was ~~ that is a constant love, that doesn't fade or put on conditions

The other type of love is often transient and only brought to us to make babies and then often time to move on

If only we were taught this as teenagers, there wouldn't be all the delusions and false hopes we build up

There is nothing like love for a child or the love from a child. Boy that sounds creeperish.... I mean in a parental/ caregiver sense. Despite my daughter and I butting headd , I love her more than any other. I guess I could say the same for my mom...

Interesting theory, WC.

I would never have thought the universe would hold two people that are meant to be together apart. Of course, some souls are just not ready to be together too, so they end up like Frank and Ava. But, it also seems right in a twisted way that such attraction/love will not be left for only two people to share. It is way too great a force, I think.

On the subject of love though; I learned love in a very unromantic way. My bff thought me 'how' to love, and I dare say what I learned is so different from romantic attraction, infatuation and the lusty headiness we usually call love.

However, I also believe there are different kinds of love. And the purest must be God's love, though I don't think it can be described by any man or woman.

I agree. Most of the world's problems come from lack of respect & love for self AND others.

I agree that God's love is the greatest power of all b/c his love is unconditional, meaning that he'll have your back, still love you the same & stick it out with you no matter what wrongs you do.

That kind of love can only come from God b/c us humans can't possibly love unconditionally lol For humans, loving someone no matter how much they sh**t on you is called being a doormat, having low self-esteem & being just plan stupid lol

Those who find love, success & happiness that actually LASTS are those who mastered the ability to love self & others. Those who are the most miserable are those who can't master this or who have gave up mastering those very things.

You gotta "love" money and/or success enough to make money/succeed
You gotta "love" yourself enough to be treated with respect by self/others
You gotta "love" life enough to enjoy it
You gotta "love" others enough to have a fulfilling life full of people who enhance your life & being fulfillment to it

See my point? Love is at the center of ALL good things & long-lasting things. Some people try to go about success, self & relationships without love, & think they can be happy w/o it but their attempts usually fail lol

Now, since a lot of people have "for the love of the money" mentality, money is powerful. Just not as powerful as love.
