Swearing a lie

If there's 1 type of person I won't ever respect under any circumstances is the one who will swear to God a lie. Ya know, the types of people that say, "I swear to G I never cheated" even though they did!
Granted, if someone doesn't even believe in God that's 1 thing...
But seriously, I take that very seriously when someone "swears to God" on something. It's already bad enough that you get the feeling that they're lying anyways, but when they add that last part to their bull, it just makes it worse & that much HARDER to ever trust them ever again.
Have any of you ever encountered someone who swears to God a lie? Especially after you found out later that they truly had been lying the whole time? Wasn't it twice as hard for you to trust them again, considering they'd added that last part onto it?
AHAHAHAHAHHAAA!
Can we do more?

I swear to god I have never met a person like this... EVAR!

krysrenee7 this topic gave me a Rikki Lake & Maury Polvick flashback lol.

Hahahah right!
Woman: "I swear to God that you ARE the father!"
Maury: "Brian, you are NOT the father!"
Guy: "Ashley, I swear to God you're the only 1 I've ever been with."
Maury: "The lie detector says THAT was a LIE!"
Guy: "You know I love you right? I swear to God I would never do anything to hurt you. Buttttttt I've been sleeping with your mother!"
Jerry Springer: "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!"
Smh
The truth needs little explanation and a straight face. Swearing like that only means that the person feels like you won't believe them anyway. THAT usually means that they lie a lot to YOU and probably everyone else.
If I knew you took the phrase that seriously and I happened to be a big, fat liar, I would definitely swear to god so that you would believe my lie!
I think maybe people just usually see the phrase as a saying. Sort of along the lines of saying "How are you?" when you see people. You don't really want to know how they are- it's just a greeting. I don't think people are usually thinking in their heads that they're literally swearing to a diety. It's just a way to add weight to what they're saying.
