Things People Say and Meaning Behind Them

I know we've all read way too much into things people say and we go crazy trying to decipher what they meant. So I decided we should post things we have heard. If you learned the meaning behind it, make sure to include it as well.
Mine is straightforward in theory, but the saying: I'll catch you if you fall. (Does this imply that the catcher has already fallen in love?)
I don't think it has anything to do with love. Maybe they'll have your back or something. Or if you're a clutz then I'll catch you? ijs
Hahaha. Valid point! I was just trying to pick a phrase that we hear and can make us think smile
I agree with having someone's back. Saying they care enough about you to stay through your lowest points.

Not necessarily. I interpreted this saying to mean that IF/WHEN you do, I'll have your back and catch you.
This is something I'd imagine saying to someone BEFORE I feel they will fall in love so that when they finally do decide to fall, they'll have the reassurance that I'd catch them in case that were to happen.
Everyone has great answers and basically along the same lines. Kind of a "trust me" line and reassurance. smile
