Why do some women pretend

Why do some women pretend to be what you want? this only leads to a relationship built on lies. Is this a young woman thing or just a loss of oneself?

Men pretend too but do it differently. They pretend to be nice, they pretend to be a gentlemen, they pretend to want a real relationship, they pretend to be confident, they pretend sex isn't the only thing they're after and so and so forth. Why do men pretend?

Lol, I'm sorry, didnt mean for it to be just women. I'm just asking for my experience.

@impulsv exsactly, that's why when dating in the first place, you find out if you can be with them for the long run. I'm always myself, but when I look back at all my relationships, the women I've had, just haven't been honest enough.

I wonder this myself, and men do pretend as well. Its all extremely weird to me in all honesty....

People pretend to get what they want, others do it out of fear of losing what they want.

It's a learned trait actually. Society teaches up to "fake it til you make it" otherwise if we are viewed as we truly are; lacking confidence, poor self image, un-skilled, inexperienced, etc., we know or at least feel we would not truly be accepted. And they are right to some extent.

After realizing that all that pretending leads to a revelation, wasted time and a terrible ending, we learn not to pretend anymore. I think it feels more rewarding to just be yourself.

This is for those who don't know the motivation behind this question ..... he put it on the Pisces board ...


He was getting attention from the female, while not giving it back. During the time she was giving him attention, she was liking him and showing him that she liked him.

Then she had enough of a one-sided relationship and decided to break up with him .. and now she's moved on.


So, instead of him realizing/accepting that he fucked up by not reciprocating with her, he makes the claim that she never loved him and lied to him by making him think that she wanted him.


The reality is .. he fucked up, and can't handle that it was his fault, and so these kinds of threads are made with intentions of continuing with his ignorance rather than accepting responsibility for his own actions.
