I'm a strong woman who believes a man is the man in the relationship despite me having strong will I know when to let a man lead. Men have it harder then women in society they are looked at as the bread winner they work hard not only to take care of themselves but to take care of their families aswell. They have to be masculine at all times even when they are hurting if they show a sign of weakness society characterize them as weak. When your man comes home from work give him a massage talk to him about his day I promise you he will love to vent to you and get things off his chest . Cook him dinner make his favorite dessert or try something new , men love food just like we as women love shopping . DONT be stingy in bed... If your together and love eachother why not be nasty and try anything in bed? Have fun with your man if he likes video games don't judge him play with him cater to his inner child and he will appreciste that . Catering to your man can improve your relationship because if you care enough to give him attention he will give you all the attention in the world you'll be his best friend you'll find him catering to you aswell like he's never done before . Men need love too don't let your friends or anyone tell you catering to your man is wrong because that's what keeps the relationship exciting
Women should cater to their man.

Marriage is equality. If nobody could understand that, then they shouldn't be married.

Posted by ElevenCosmosI believe that women have it just as hard if not harder than men, in modern, or any other society. Women bear children and go through all that physical agony and then after a few years her husband could leave her for someone younger and more "exciting" and she has to be masculine and tough and find a way to be both mother and father to the kids while earning a healthy living to feed, clothe, educate and offer them proper medical care. She has to keep her health and sanity stable because young lives are depending on her to do so and often without comfort either because me don't want to be "hassled" by a woman with kids and all that emotional baggage.

If your man is good to you then why of course reciprocate but if he's a selfish Narcissistic man child that needs constant validation and treats his woman like a doormat then NO.

Men should get the real jobs cos women might pregnant or gossip too much to get work done. Working as nurse or secretary would acceptable too but you have to quit any job once you get married.

After all working as a nurse you might need to give sponge baths to ailing men which might threaten your man's ego. Also you should only cater to your man's needs soley, don't bring coffee and organize another schedule so secretary is off limits too.
The only profession that is acceptable is school teacher to children as it is good practice for your future family. Right guyz.

"No it's nothing wrong with just one person working if the other can hold it down especially if they have kids.
What I hate seeing is 6 week old babies in daycare all freaking day. I'm like its sad when both parents have to get back to work and can't raise their children properly. I know some men don't like that so they will pay all the bills. They want their children cared for properly until grade school."
Right?

I don't understand why two parent families
would do that... or rather why SO MANY would

I think it should be equal. Sure back in the day it worked good like that, but today times are much harder to keep up with. Its very hard to find time to be free. If a man and woman can cater each other and use teamwork not only will there be more love and respect, but also more time to relax and be free.

I agree with the OP.
However, the one thing that chaps my hide (other than the poor babies) is there is no such thing as equal. You can't live a lifetime with someone and expect equal - good intentions and all. Someone's always better than the other at something.
We gotta carry each other like the song "One" by U2.... resisting so hard posting the video. I'll post it somewhere else.
The love just has to be strong. Flesh of your flesh.
The world is getting worse everyday. You gotta have each other's back.

when you think about college tuition in the future, yes, that too.
my mother in law's best friend passed away, and she had gotten divorced more than 30 years ago, maybe 35 but a long long time; they were both traveling partners, bestest friends, (she's a Gemini sun/Aquarius moon/Leo venus/aries mars) and my mother in law is cap sun/pisces moon/aqua venus. but before she passed, she was taken good care of, she was independent, and retired early too, she had a great condominium home she lived in, beautiful neighborhood.
She invited us one time to visit and made us dinner, plus she needed my husbands help with something in the home to fix. we also travelled with her because she also accompanied my mother in law. But in her case, she and her ex husband were super religious (she is super religious) and he was a closet gay, and came out and told her that he was leaving her for another man. I don't know how she took it but this story was relayed to me, and I think back then she was in her 30s, with the children in their teens. She remained single since then, and she lived a long fulfilling life. she was a really good woman honestly. But she lived very very well. travelled at least several times a year. I don't think she cared about finding another man to fill that place 35years ago or more. She was fine alone, independently. I actually don't know what she did for a living, but mother in law mentioned something about being a clerk, for a church or something. her and her ex husband had share of the children's support, while he lived with his boyfriend. When I was told that story, I was really shocked, and felt kind of sad for her but then, she was always doing well. her children always come to visit too, for dinner a couple times a month or more.

One of my older close Virgo friends is going through something like this. She's in her 60s and she says ALL THE TIME: "God, I wish I had just gotten an education before I had my daughters and stayed in the workforce even part time instead of devoted every piece of me to my last marriage and being a stay at home wife/mom."
My dad recently married a woman who got divorced and had to move back in with her parents at 40 something.

Give this lady a nobel prize.

Depends on what the relationship is like. Every relationship is different. If you both are equal bread winners, then there should be equal catering.

I am very happy in traditional female roles. I like to work myself bc I've always been self sufficient. I take pride in taking care of my home and my loved ones. in an optimal relationship for me, we would both work (he would probably hold longer hours than me as I like a passionate, hardworking man or we might work together in our own food truck or something) and i would take care of the house and laundry, with him lending a hand when needed. especially if he is out working hard every day, I want him to come home to a clean home. if general upkeep is done, this isn't hard. i also realize that it's draining to have to cook after work so it's nice if who is home first cooks. I like to have plenty of groceries and snacks for us and planning meals ahead of time helps to save some. so I guess what I'm saying is in general I agree with what you're saying. it's a personal preference I'm content with. somebody said it but reciprocity is the key. it doesn't have the be the exact same favor done in return but I do expect the effort to match. I want to make him happy and give him every opportunity to do so and i want for him to want the same for me. I dont think this is an outrageous expectation.

Posted by Arielle83I'm not really into shopping so I can't amazing how fantastic whatever it is would have to be for me to degrade myself for him in bed ?
Will you degrade yourself, sexually, in order to cater to his needs if he buys you shoes since women apparantly love "shopping".
but really, your love shouldn't ask you to degrade yourself ever. being freaky and trying new things is one thing but I can't imagine my love interest asking anything degrading of me.

I had my children young where I could stay home without career worries. I'm so glad I made the right choice. It was a real internal debate. I can't imagine having children late in life. I didn't get paid leave but, thanks to FMLA, I took a full three months and my husband and I worked opposing shifts by the time the baby was old enough for him to provide care. I planned my pregnancies down to my children's birthday, coordinated with my husband, saved my money, had a budget, etc. My Virgo loved this about me.
The US is behind the world when it comes to the issue of maternity leave. Well over 150 other countries offer paid maternity leave.... Albania, Bosnia, and Herzegovina: an entire year. And, there are simply some lower level US jobs that don't provide benefits of any kind.

People do realize you can get a higher education at any time. Right? Kids do not stop you from continuing your education especially when they offer Bachelors and Masters degrees online.
Some of these stay at home moms are not business oriented. That's the problem. That's the perfect opportunity and time to start your own business. Obviously money isn't a issue and they have the time.

yes perfect.
a lot of women are business savvy into ambition ect and some aren't.
some can turn an art (talent) into business, because they will do something they love at home.
maybe it's making psotcards or baskets and selling them on amazon, or having an advertisement or something. but they are doing something talented, creating for others, that cater to those who love to buy that kind of stuff.

Posted by AriesLovePosted by lisabethur8Yes I know a few women like that. One owns a few salons in my area. She doesn't even do hair, she manages the salon and people rent booth space from here and she is doing well. Another is a wedding photographer. They set their own schedule and some make more than people working 40 hrs a week. It's a mindset and this day and age there really is no excuse to not have a little ambition in you.Posted by AriesLovePosted by littlenanobyteWhy is she going into the workforce at 60 something? That's retirement age.Posted by LadyNeptuneYep, women have it way harder.Posted by ElevenCosmosLol what society is that? Where I live women hustle as hard as men, even when married. The cost of living is so high that being a stay at home mom isn't a viable option anymore.
Men have it harder then women in society they are looked at as the bread winner
If you want the dream you have to pay for it.

If you are a stay at home mom you are just that but when your kids get of age you can always get back to work. But if your kids are out the house or teenagers and you're doing nothing than you are just lazy.
And I would hope any woman being a housewife is with a man who HAS money. You can't be a housewife to a BUMB than yes if you get divorced you'll look like an ass.

lol I actually agree with you 100%

Legally, maternity leave is 12 weeks. At least in Cali it is.
Fathers can take 6 weeks, I believe.

Both gotta work yo.
Posted by VenusAquariusPosted by rockyroadicecreamI know... I have an adult and teenage child now. I'm outside of that social realm of everyday existence. Those days are way behind me and most people in my social realm. If I recall correctly, there used to be an age minimum for enfants... two or three months.Posted by VenusAquariusHate to break it to you, but this has been going on for at least two decades. This sad concept is nothing new.Posted by MontgomeryThat is really gross and absolutely despicable. I'm fighting nausea and anger.
@AriesLove
Right?
I worked at a preschool when I was 19 till about
22, and some of those kids would arrive at 6 am
and go home at 6 pm.
I don't understand why two parent families
would do that... or rather why SO MANY would
do that.
And, there are simply some lower level US jobs that don't provide benefits of any kind.

all this interesting talk about maternity leave. I thought Sweden had the best one.
I didn't realize how behind US is...

And how about for women who are the breadwinners do you expect a man to massage their shoulders and cook them dinner?

*Judging you in black and white *![]()
anyway, there was mention from arieslove about being talented at stuff and you don't have to marry a wealthy man to do any talent. lol
you can stay home at parents like this woman, and this woman doesn't pay rent, or pay food, or bills, and she even gets her clothes FREE!!!
you don't need a man in many cases. you don't need to have children or family ect. just stay at home and do fun stuff.
and get free clothes from the dead.
