You Gals Surprise Me....

I've seen a lot of posts regarding birth control pills and what not and the only other option being IUD.
Really? I guess its not too surprising cause a lot of women I talk to have never heard of this one.
There are products available like VCF - (Vaginal Contraceptive Film), Encare, etc. Basically they are spermicides used for vaginal insertion. The only reason I know of these products is working in a pharmacy.
But dont get the wrong impression these products are over the counter in the condom section usually. I will admit the downside of using them is depending on the product you have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for it to disolved before you can punch a hole in the milky way.
Actually its not so bad. A man should do foreplay (ex: massages, light caressing on different parts of the body, gentle kissing and cuddling) anyway before he accelerates to warp speed. Foreplay should make the 10 or 15 minutes go by quick.
And the good thing is with the VCF you can treetrunk to your hearts desire for up 3 hours and then it will wear off.
Although you still have the STD factor to worry about. At that point its up to you ladies to decide if homeboy is Mr STD of the year.
I just thought that may be helpful. So you gals no longer have to just take pills which lower your sex drive. Hope this helps and you ladies can be the awesome sexually liberated creatures I know you can be smile
It's easy to come across alternative means to the pill, if one does a google search for "non hormonal contraception".
I have an IUD...I honestly dunno what all the fuss is about!! They have come a long way since one brand got a bad rap in the 60's / 70's. I haven't had any problems with mine, and it's been in for over a year now. I think it's an avenue worth investigating, for sure. In fact, when I went to the hospital to have mine fitted, the nurse said to me she's surprised that more women don't have them. They're very reliable, no fiddling around before sex etc and it stays in place for 5 - 10 years (depending on which one it is) unless you want it taken out sooner...
not only are the spermicides not as effective as the pill, but many of the "films" can be very uncomfortable until they dissolve. I tried these several times a few years ago but found the process of inserting, waiting, and the discomfort (like something scratching and poking against the inside of the vagina) was just as much, if not more, of a sex-drive killer than the pill.

Muse, I agree and disagree with your statement if that makes any sense. Actually spermicides are effective as the pill. It just depends if a) you're using it correctly b) willing to wait in the time frame it requires.
I wasnt just talking about films. There are also sperimicidal jellies and another application I cant think of right now which is out there . So alternatives are available for spermicides if the film is too uncomfortable
Personally to me birth control pills are a complete and utter joke. My mother was taking them even after marrying my father. And she still got pregnant with me. Dont get me wrong my parents wanted kids they just didnt expect it so soon. She was not a person to miss a day, being extremely meticulous. Which doesnt surprise me she's got a mars in virgo Winking
I've seen that same scenario play out with other girls regarding the pill with unplanned pregnancies. I still stand behind condoms with using spermicides as back up.
I thought IUD reduces your sex drive to zilch like the pill does. I mean that's what I've heard from other women. I'm not a expert or anything.
Off topic, but this message goes out to a poster I chat with a lot. (Sorry for the vagueness, but like to keep things private) I rememeber we were talking about you having issues receiving the last message. So if you are reading this and didnt get the response I sent a few days ago let me know with a message. If you did then disregard. Hope all is well
i completely and totally agree with a muse a libra. no thank yoooouuuuu.
Spermicides are only 94% effective when used properly.
the jellies need to be applied deep in the vaginial canal and honestly, inserting something so sterile like that just before intercourse completely KILLS the mood. Plus, the jellies are cold.
The pill is 99.98% effective...think of the millions using it everyday, the percentage of failure is bound to occur. I'd rather take my chances with the pill, which is MUCH more effective and there is much less room for error.
The IUD, I agree with you Archer, is best used if you're sure you don't want to get pregnant for many years. From my understanding, it is most often recommended for women who have already given birth or are with a long term partner.
Not to mention that contraceptives now come in many shapes and sizes. The nueva ring eliminates much the hormanal inbalances that can occur because it gives you a constant dose of hormones. Some pills have different levels of hormones and you have to try out several before you find right pill for you.
If you or your girlfriend's sex drive is significantly lowered because of the pill, it would be safer to try another. If missing pills is an issue, try a patch or a ring.
Although I would steer WAY away from the depo shot, that thing just freaks me out! Women are supposed to have periods!!
"And the good thing is with the VCF you can treetrunk to your hearts desire for up 3 hours and then it will wear off."
Yes, but on the pill you and fuck for HOURs and HOURs and it NEVER wears off Winking
FB,
And IUD does not alter a woman's sex drive at all...How can it? I mean the ones with no hormones. Mirena IUD might...but I have a multiload IUD. I went for a non-hormonal IUD because 3 different pills and also the depo-provera injection all turned me into a nutter and killed my sex drive while they were at it. With my IUD, i'm completely back to normal smile
Honestly, I don't even know it's there, unless i'm going to get a corker of a period and my guts / internals (lol) are all sort of puffy...Coz I gather that puts pressure on it. That's the only time I feel it...It's awesome, I can't fault it. There was about 3 seconds of pretty intense pain (I presume child birth is alot worse tho) when it was being fitted, but I had already read up on the internet about it, so I was fine coz I knew what to expect. After that, it was all over and it is so worth it...
My IUD is a non-hormonal one, and the brand / type is Multiload (copper & plastic). If you and hormones don't mix well, make sure you stay away from the Mirena IUD as that one does have hormones. Feel free to PM me if you want any more info...
heh heh... multiload... i was on lo-ovral for several years and i loved it! it was the 1st pill my doc prescribed to me and it was perfect. no side effects whatsoever. unfortunately it didn't contribute to me losing weight but i didn't gain either. no mood swings. periods became regular (i was able to kill birds with one stone). then one day i had a physical when i was about 23. i told my gyno i was a little concerned because all of a sudden my periods were coming about a week to a week and a half later every month. i was in a long-term relationship so for a good 4 months in a row i would freak out and run and buy a pregnancy test cuz i was so late. i shit u not my period would show up the day after i took the test. she figured it was my human error (even though i was a pro at it by this time and usually sober) so she decided to try me out on the new fangled patch. i HATED that thing! i felt like i was being so pumped full of hormones that i was going crazy. literally! i had mood swings from hell and i felt awful. i stuck with it, and so did my poor boyfriend, for 2 months before i shoved the whole kit and caboodle. i've been hormone free ever since. fuck it! i'll stick with condoms.
